Miles please...Oscar is the main draw for every fight he is in that is a no brainer...
Explain to me how Pacquiao is obligated to come to the UK...Or do you think he is obligated to come there I should say...
Why not South Africa? Germany? Better yet how about May Day Stadium in Korea...Biggest one in the world...
Just do not try to deny a fight in the UK favors Hatton crowd wise....
Why not have the fight in the Philippines?
Who said he was ?
Having it in the UK would be so much bigger than the US.
100,000 people attending a boxing event. Man you can't describe what would it would be like in words. It would be spectacular to say the least.
2 fighters with there whole countrys behind them going at it. The British love Hatton. The Phillipines love Pac.
It's wrong to stage this fight in the USA. A change for ONCE would be nice.
I would love to see that.

Overall yes Pacquiao is a bigger draw right now
Please don't say that.
Ricky Hatton is the biggest supported fighter in the world. And has been for the past couple of years. He got 50,000 for Juan Lazcano, Lazcano for fuck sake. A Pac fight would go beyond 100,000.
Why do you think Floyd Mayweather's camp have just offered him a rematch ? there's a lot of money to be made off Hatton's name.
Really... Floyds camp did?....Amazing since Floyd has yet to announce his official return....Keep confusing rumor with fact...
As for it being wrong for the fight to take place in the US don't ever remember saying it had to be in the US...Again that is just Lefty acting like an ass by talking out of his ass.......
Fight could be anywhere Japan, SA, Germany where ever just why should it be in a pro Hatton or Pro Pacquiao crowd?...
As for the US having all the big fights like I stated before when the UK promoters can generate the purses that US promoters do then maybe they can get some more worth while fights there....
A shame US promoters have to come to the UK for you to have any worth while match up's

Wembley Arena & Wembley Stadium are 2 different places. The Arena holds somewhere between 12,000 & 20,000. Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90,000+, plus at least 200 more that could be seated ringside
Thanks! 90K+ tickets... Big gate!

Would have been so sweet!!
Seating for 90,000 people and for concerts they have 15,000 standing on the pitch area. So potentially about 100,000 boxing fans could see it live.
Even if every ticket was £50 they take $10,000,000 so yes, that is a fucking big gate lol

LOL are you for real ?
So in effect couldn't I say why didn't ODLH-Pac take place in India, what about Thailand ? Hmmm I wonder why
It's wrong for the fight to take place in the USA because the fight doesn't involve the US at all. Sky Box Office (A British firm) will be broadcasting and will have the rights. The fighters are British and Filipino respectively.
To make it simple here's why the fight should be in the UK:
One of the fighters is from the UK. The other fighter is more than happy to come to the UK.
The UK would gain the most money from the fight
The UK would gain the most fans attending, 100,000 plus. It would be a unique, extroadinary event.
The MGM would sell how many seats ? 15,000 ? No where close.
I'll think you'll find I'm not talking out my ass, I'm making valid points and people are agreeing with me ;)

This is the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Compare this to what Kel posted of Wembley.

Honestly, I thought THIS was that time Yvonne. I am totally gutted, I really had my heart set on being there:(
I am really fucked off to be honest
Re: SKy Sports just - Hatton v Pac set for May in USA ??
It really makes more sense for Wembley than Vegas if promoting boxing back to prominence is utmost consideration. Which nowadays is sadly not.
Imagine the impact of that fight in terms of the excitement buildup for it touches a lot more people on a live basis. That is the reason why during Ali's time, boxing was so popular. He fought in so many other countries and places. Germany, Philippines, Zaire in Africa comes to mind. Ali was the biggest draw then, his willingness to fight it anywhere is stuff of legends. We still talk about it now even after several decades have gone past.
I am thinking that with Pacquiao's heightened awarenes of his place in boxing history, if it were solely on him, he'd pick Wembley over Vegas.
Thanks for the pics, they're magnifick! Gives me clear perspective of what I will be missing out, when Father Bob makes it official and announces the fight venue will be in Vegas. http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...cons/icon8.gif
It is always... money talks.
Re: SKy Sports just - Hatton v Pac set for May in USA ??
Im a bit pissed off:mad: if this is true that the fight wont be made over here!Come on 100,000 spectators rammed into Wembly's open top roof stadium during the summer!!!!I'll be fantasic;D:cool:
Re: SKy Sports just - Hatton v Pac set for May in USA ??
This fight has not even been discussed yet, whoever posted this crap is full of shit. Arum in is in the Philippines at the moment celebrating Mannys birthday.
Re: SKy Sports just - Hatton v Pac set for May in USA ??
Well villa vs wilde was in the U.S. but I do agree I would prefer the fight at wembley stadium because what ever happens the fans win. The U.K deserves this event. Hatton is huge compare to most fighters worldwide. And I like the thought of pac traveling the world to prove his greatness. My dad agree as well cause he got a chance to see ali vs frazier in manila, Its great when fighters travel and fight worldwide. I think arum wants this in vegas because of all the gamblers. I say forget them and give this one to the fans. Wembley can hold like 100,000 if not there atleast give it to the phillippines for a TRUE TRILLA IN MANILLA PART TWO, in the Araneta Coliseum. But Araneta can only hold about 25,000. If they want the most money its a no brainer WEMBLEY STADIUM! Plus pac has already stated he wants to fight in england! I think pac will win but with that much people backing hatton up hatton has a better chance of making this fight more competitive. We never really know.

Sure money is important. But the chance to sell out a stadium and make a real event would be magnificent. And it could never happen in the states with any fighter.
And the real US fans who enjoy boxing, which would likely be the Americans that follow or know Hatton and Manny, would most likely pay anyway to watch it at a slightly irregular hour.
The Klitschko's can do it. Why can't Hatton??
Just a little and slightly ethnocentric rant, but one that wanted to come out regardless.
I have to agree completely
these are two foreign fighters...and americans only give a damn about american born fighters...thats why oscar was so big.
This fight is probably gonna do about 500k buys in the states because most foreign fighters do not sell to casual fans, but the die hard boxing fan will order this fight.
The fight should be in Dubai in my opinion for neutral ground, Dubai is filthy rich and they love hatton and pacquiao there.

Do they? Since when?
Re: SKy Sports just - Hatton v Pac set for May in USA ??
They can make much more money on just tickets sales by holding the fight at Wembley. However a Vegas casino will give them millions of dollars to hold the fight in their casino rather than at Wembley, which will charge maybe a million to stage the fight there. But the main thing here is that HBO won't do a PPV fight featuring two non-American boxers from another country. If Manny and Ricky want the PPV money from America then they have to hold it in the States.
100000 tickets at £100 average is ten million quid, or 15 million American.
Let's say 13 after fees. A Vegas casino will pay five million for this fight, so let's say they're ahead eight million by holding it at Wembley. Let's say it does only 500000 PPV buys in the States. They get roughly half the total PPV take, so they'd make $ twelve and a half million from the PPV. Even if it does Pavlik-Hopkins/Jones-Calzaghe numbers they probably come out ahead, but they're guaranteed to do better and the upside is massive. If it does a million PPV buys they split $25 million just from US TV. They're not having it in Vegas because they'd make more money holding it in England.
