He's definately getting off easy because of his last sellout fight. Not saying it's right, but boxing has it's own rules, and cash is king.

Was the material harder than a human knuckle (kind of defeats the object if it wasn't)? Did they test the impact of the wrapping in a glove and compare it to a control sample of wrapping? and then test if the impact got harder after 12 rounds of bashing it against something, again compared to a control sample of wrapping.
If I were to write a paper to a journal about a new substance I'd discovered, then simply described it as a little stiff with a powdary substance on it, I'd expect the referee to reply with some tough questions e.g. what's the powdary substance is it plaster? table salt? cocaine???
I'm not defending Marg here, just questioning the due process. I have to admit that the trainer's statements are in itself pretty darn incriminating.
I would just like to add some questions to the band wagoners, if it was just stiff wet gauze then how is it different to what Trinidad did? And where were/are the calls to revoke all titles from his resume and ban any entry to the HoF?
I cant believe that you are another one that think that Trinidad used the same " Pad or Plaster with substance " like Margaro did , cmon Bomp , if that is questionable , why the Commission didnt find something , Richardson complained just for the way that Trinidad was wrapped , was wrapped like 3 times , you dont think that the
Commission would found something out of regulation ? IMO that was a really Speculation....
Well to start with the commision were willing to pass both Marg and Felix's gloves, it was Nazim who spotted both incidiences.
IF it is found in March that the substance is different and harder than wet gauze, then what they did is worse than Trinidad. Trinidad's camp used layer after layer of extra gauzed tape, which would harden when wet, so if it is extra wet gauze that was on Marg's hands, then no I cannot distinguish between the offences.
If you really wanted to distinguish between them then it should be done in a lab, not by speculation on message boards. Nazim is an eyewitness to both and also an experienced hand wrapper, I'm sure he could reproduce what he saw Felix do, then compare the hardness to these pads.
Again Im not defending Marg, Im quite sure from his trainer's suspicious comments that he has a strong case to answer. All I ask for is consistency and less hypocrisy. Accusing Marg of blue murder while casually glossing over Shane's steroid abuse IS hypocrisy, UNLESS you have scientific evidence to prove that the increase in punch power/hardness from a performance enhancing drug is considerably less then wet gauze.

Disgraceful if he only gets a year. Fucking Zab Judah got a year just for being himself.

I am so disappointed in them all ........ his titles should be retrospectively stripped, they should all be banned for life and be fined massively. Margaroto's name should be removed from the history books.
Nobody only does this once and happens to get caught the first time, especially if you are a reigning world champ who was favourite to beat Shane anyway.
I don't get it, what was the punchline?

You just know that there's going to be a Cotto-Margarito rematch now. Plenty of storylines there to sell the fight, aren't there? After the first fight I said no way ever there's a rematch, but it's funny how things turn out isn't it? It'll be an absolutely huge PPV event provided both guys stay unbeaten till it happens. I bet about five minutes after Margarito's ban ends it gets made.
I've heard both that Arum is discussing fights for Margarito in Mexico till his ban ends and also that Arum can't be involved in promoting him anywhere during the ban or Arum will get banned too. Does anybody know which of these versions is correct?

I'm guessing one or two people might order it on HBO. Thanks to Tony's innovative handwrapping techniques they've now got some serious plotlines they can sell the fight with.
Re: Margarito, Capetillo licenses revoked!
Guys, remember that he's banned for AT LEAST 1 year. He would have to reapply for a license and they could very well deny him. Also, they could take further action next month when they finally discover exactly what the substance is that he used.
I have to say also, I still find it implausible that he was getting away with this on a regular basis. If so, then the commissions are completely incompetent and are just as much to blame. And if it were that easy, that would lead me to believe that there must be other fighters doing the same thing.
Re: Margarito, Capetillo licenses revoked!
I agree 100% with your post.
Re: Margarito, Capetillo licenses revoked!
I while hold my judgement till i know the substance i cant belive i got to wait even longer to know what he was using o well somthing to think about did they say it was going to be march when we find out does anyone know or have they not made a date for it yet just asking.
