For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Well it's Holloway who suffered a fractured bone that at one time seen as a career-ending threat to his boxing...
It might be in sparring only but I think it's as grave as the one used in actual fight...
I think no one can blame now if boxers/sparring partners will say they felt something different from Margo's gloves/punches...
.
Well team Cintron, team Cotto, the IBF, the WBA, The Nevada state athletic commission, and The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board all had a chance to check the wraps and found nothing. Of course people are going to be suspicious, but judge slowly, let FACT be the basis of your statement, not conspiracy. Everyone is sure to come out of the woodwork now.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
Well, all I can say is wow. I don't think Tony really knew what Capetillo was doing was illegal but he's still responsible. I'm really feeling bad for Cotto and Cintron. These guys were undefeated prospects who might have been swindled thanks to the wraps that Tony might have used in his fights with them. Hopefully they can take some solace in this verdict and get some of their confidence back and get back to the championships they lost. Tony's career is basically over IMO. I don't even wanna see him comeback. Sucks for him, he was top of the entire world less than a month ago.
This is an indignant situation , and now what ?
Suspended just one Year both , both supposed to be banned for live.....

Everyone loves a good band wagon, yeh we know.Guys get injured in sparring all the time, but here your just putting 1+1 together and coming up with 3.
There are those who trump up and tear down Mosley for his speculative growth hormones and other shite. Its weak imo.Its character trashing and speculation based on colorful language...."A bag of rocks".What is known is what we found out today only, but those with agendas will run with it and call it a certainy cast over his entire career. In fairness, his camp and even himself (knowingly or unknowingly with Tony)...put him in that position and must shoulder it without question..Imo though, its a bit oppurtunistic and somwhat uninformed concerning past fights with no evidence at that time.
There once was a superb WBO Jr. welterweight named Zack Padilla who was at the top of his game and heading for the mainstream. He was a sparring partner for Sugar Shane Mosley, during one sparring session He suffered bleeding on the brain, permanent injuries and his career was over in that instant.I dont think even Mosleys strongest detractors went clamoring for a lawyer or some copy & paste conspiracy theories, but to each his own of course.
I'm also for ban for life... Cheating and seriously risking the lives of other boxers is a very grave offense...
Even if Margo will be allowed to fight again, some boxers will have second thoughts of fighting him... Margo will also have a hard time finding sparring partners...
.
Margarito and especially his trainer got off WAAAAAAY too easy....a YEAR?!?!?! This is why boxing has a hard time being taken seriously in the mainstream
There's nothing new from this hearing. It defies belief that it actually took place before the 'substance' had been identified. Was it old gauze as the trainer claimed, or something harder? did the material harden to rock after a soaking from sweat? was the total weight of the hand wraps larger than the commission allows? Was the material harder than a human knuckle (kind of defeats the object if it wasn't)? Did they test the impact of the wrapping in a glove and compare it to a control sample of wrapping? and then test if the impact got harder after 12 rounds of bashing it against something, again compared to a control sample of wrapping.
If I were to write a paper to a journal about a new substance I'd discovered, then simply described it as a little stiff with a powdary substance on it, I'd expect the referee to reply with some tough questions e.g. what's the powdary substance is it plaster? table salt? cocaine
I'm not defending Marg here, just questioning the due process. I have to admit that the trainer's statements are in itself pretty darn incriminating.
I would just like to add some questions to the band wagoners, if it was just stiff wet gauze then how is it different to what Trinidad did? And where were/are the calls to revoke all titles from his resume and ban any entry to the HoF?
I cant believe that you are another one that think that Trinidad used the same " Pad or Plaster with substance " like Margaro did , cmon Bomp , if that is questionable , why the Commission didnt find something , Richardson complained just for the way that Trinidad was wrapped , was wrapped like 3 times , you dont think that the Commission would found something out of regulation ? IMO that was a really Speculation....
