Fighting Haye would earn him 100% of the promotion, fighting an alternative around 80%. Why is he doing that?
How do you know all this mate?
Both Haye and Kilitschko's people have said that haye is ofering to fight in Germany for UK TV money only.
Here's haye's version :
Adam Booth exclusive | Setanta
and here's the pretend-Germans' version :
"They said they would just keep all of the English television rights," Boente said. "Why would we do that? If you think you'll keep all the money from English TV, what are you bringing to the table to get so much more than a mandatory challenger? They think they are bringing a superstar to the fight when he's fought [six] rounds in the heavyweight division.
But they also admitted in the same interview :
And also the deal with Haye has to be new because we gave him way more than even a mandatory challenger would get. A mandatory challenger would get 25 or 30 percent [of the money], but he was getting a lot more than that.
http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingfor...suspended.html
So they'd have to pay the mandatory (Arreola or similar) 25 or 30% of the promotion if they don't fight haye. That promotion would be worth a nominal UK TV number as it doesn't feature a UK fighter. Haye fighting Vlad creates a UK TV market which pays a substantial sum, but that sum is only available to the promotion if Haye gets the fight. So the Klitschkos now face paying 25-30% of the promotion (without any UK TV money) to the challenger when they could have kept 100% of it by fighting Haye. Vlad is turning down at least a quarter of the value of his next fight so that he can avoid fighting Haye and fight somebody else instead.
All posturing aside...do you HONESTLY believe that Wlad is afraid to fight Haye? C'mon now. What has Haye done to make him afraid? Who has Haye beaten that should make Wlad go, "Uh oh, I don't want to fight that guy!" He's fought two fights in the division. He got rocked by a limited fighter in Barrett. He routinely got rocked at crusierweight. Why in the world would Wlad be afraid to fight this guy? Why would he even try to make the fight in the first place? He could have easily enough said, "Haye has not done enough to deserve the shot, he needs to get in line" and he would have been 100% correct. But he is trying to make the fight anyway because it's an interesting challenge rather than fighting another mandatory. And, please note, I don't think Haye is afraid of Wlad either, I just think he thinks he's a bigger star than he is and is making unrealistic demands.

:lolhaha: How gullible are you? When a fighter says "I'll fight him for free" do you actually believe him? Saying and doing are 2 different things. Haye is just spitting nonsense to cover up the fact that he and his team are killing the fight. There is no way he would fight for just the UK TV money. It's hilarious to think that some people actually believe that fabrication of the truth.
UK TV money is big money. When Hatton fought PBF SKY had something like 2 million PPV's. Obviously that isn't expected of Haye yet but he still has a big enough fan base to make a good amount in britain.
Also he is ultra confident of beating Wlad and if he does he would become a big star overnight in the way Calzaghe did after Lacy. It would be a huge stepping stone!
Oh I agree. The fight is everything for Haye. He wins and he's the man. While when Wlad wins it's no big deal. All he did was beat a smaller, glass jaw Cruiserweight with bad stamina. He would get little to no credit. Beating the potential next big thing in Chris Arreola means way more. Yeah he might make more for a Haye fight. But an Arreola fight still brings him a couple of millions. And something tells me Wlad ain't exactly struggling to eat.
Despite all that Wlad is still open to giving the undeserving Haye a shot. But it has to be on his terms. He's the champion. He's the one driving the car. Haye is the guy at the gas station looking for a ride.
Re: Haye willing to fight Wlad in Germany
Haye never had a problem fighting anybody, it was just the damn promoters as usual
Re: Haye willing to fight Wlad in Germany
Wow theres alot of good threads here. I think Haye should slow down a bit and fight at least 2 more times preferably in the U.S against other ranked fighters. How about a Haye vs Toney fight and if Haye is as good as he says he is then he should put the old man away. Also the trash talking would be fantastic. Then how about a Haye vs Maskaev fight and if he wins he can start calling himself the Russian assassin and call out Valuev too.

Yes I do. vlad's fights scared these days because he knows how fragile his chin is and he fights knowing one punch can bring back Corrie Sanders nightmares. Fighting somebody who can move faster than him who can also punch is his worst nightmare. Much easier to fight a big tub of lard who can't move fast enough to hit him.

Simple question for you. No essay required. Just a simple yes or no. Do you think Haye has earned his shot to fight for the championship?
Re: Haye willing to fight Wlad in Germany
Doesn't make a difference where Haye would be willing to fight him. Even if Haye fought Wladdy in his backyard with his own Mother as referee and his siblings as judges, the end result would be the same: Haye is going to get the beating of his life...wait, I amend that: I think Haye will get hit with one right hand and just fall on his stupid looking mug licking the canvas like a dog for a half-hour.
Can't wait for a legit heavyweight to come up and clean out these annoying Ukrainian freak-shows. Haye certainly isn't the man to do it. That bum was lucky that he got by Monte. LOL

No and I don't think very highly of Cliff Couser either but that's who Tony Thompson beat before he got his fight with Vlad. The rest of Thompson's record is littered with equally wonderful names.
The fact is that the heavyweight division is rubbish. There's nobody at heavyweight that I want to see fight including wither of the Klitschkos. If I have to watch them fight I've seen them in with enough big fat bastards with the mobility of the Statue of liberty to last me a lifetime. Unfortunately that kind of fighter appears to be the only option at heavyweight to challenge them so instead of yet another big fat useless bastard I'd prefer to see a chinny cruiser who has speed and a punch have a go.
Re: Haye willing to fight Wlad in Germany
Dan Rafael reported in his chat friday that Adam Booth Acknowledges that he royally screwed up the negotiations and has turned them over to Haye's American Promotor, Goldenboy. Richard Shaffer is talking to Wlad and trying to undo what Booth has done.

Thompson at least paid his dues and climbed up the rankings little by little. He wasn't totally unworthy. Haye has pretty much gotten his shot by running his mouth. That impresses you? If you think about it, this will turn into a meaningless fight. Right now it has meaning and intrigue cuz Haye has managed to delude a bunch of foolish people into thinking he has a chance. To be fair those peoples Boxing knowledge is poor to begin with, so I can't really hold it against them. But in reality once Wlad stretchers Haye early all you will hear and read is Wlad beat up a smaller fighter with no jaw and poor stamina. The win will quickly be dismiss. And in the long run it will mean little. It will be come meaningless.

I don't see any current heavyweight having a better chance than Haye. I'd like to see Junior fight somebody who's faster than he is. Somebody with speed and athleticism who can punch. I don't see anybody remotely like that at heavyweight so the next best thing is Haye.

Do you know when Shannon Briggs first came up he was considered a great athlete who could punch and had great speed? Those traits ain't enough to give Haye a title shot. If that's what you look for than why not give recent Chris Arreola victim Travis Walker a title shot? Walker is a great athlete. Has very good power. And is faster than Wlad. Not to mention the fact that he makes for exciting fights. Why not him? I'll tell you why not. Cuz like Haye he doesn't derseve one.

kingfrnk won't be happy about you plagiarizin his living room piece ;), but im with rjj tszyu, I reckon Haye can take him, I think people see that one loss & don't realize that he actually is pretty damn good & has speed like Wlad will NEVER have dealt with
The living room comment was all me. And with that said I would bet the rest of the house that Vlad knocks out Haye. Haye does not have a great chin. He reminds me of a Tommy Morrison. He will always make it interesting because he has a punchers chance but his glass jaw will let him down.
He's better than Morrison though, he's already cleaned up at Cruiserweight, and I think he has better than a puncher's chance against Wlad, he may not be the favourite, but he still has a decent chance in that fight. Probably not against Vitali though
I don't know about size and punching power, this may turn into a real boxing match for a change. I'll go out on a limb and say Haye comes up with a plan to outhustle Wlad and get out of the way of the big punches for a decision.
