Sure thing, but you're gonna be like that Maytag repairman on the commercials with nothing to do. ;D
OK so here's a couple of scenarios
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Using the loss results in losing 1-3 places
Assume #9 beats #2
a) close fight
Ranks
before ---------- after
1 --------------- 1
2 --------------- 9
3 --------------- 2
4 --------------- 3
5 --------------- 4
6 --------------- 5
7 --------------- 6
8 --------------- 7
9 --------------- 8
10 -------------- 10
b) clear win for #9
before ---------- after
1 --------------- 1
2 --------------- 9
3 --------------- 3
4 --------------- 2
5 --------------- 4
6 --------------- 5
7 --------------- 6
8 --------------- 7
9 --------------- 8
10 -------------- 10
c) blowout win for # 9
before ---------- after
1 --------------- 1
2 --------------- 9
3 --------------- 3
4 --------------- 4
5 --------------- 2
6 --------------- 5
7 --------------- 6
8 --------------- 7
9 --------------- 8
10 -------------- 10
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Fighters switch ranks
again #9 beats #2
Ranks
before ---------- after
1 --------------- 1
2 --------------- 9
3 --------------- 3
4 --------------- 4
5 --------------- 5
6 --------------- 6
7 --------------- 7
8 --------------- 8
9 --------------- 2
10 -------------- 10

Good work but Im just not keen on the a,b,& c loss catagories ?More of a math class and who exactly has the task of determining a blowout from a close nod?Just leaves alot of room for massaging the scoring by some judges....not that I dont trust the judges ;D.I like a clean, definative switch of rankings.

Anyone wanna play?
Count me in...Sure we can do better then the ones out there!!!

Valid
Re: The Saddoboxing Sanctioning body
I see what Spicoli is saying & it is valid...
but
I think a straight switch will not give us a clear representation of the true rankings.
e.g. using some of the current Ring rankings:
Judah #9 beats Mosley #1, sure Judah would have earned the #1 spot but would Mosley really be as far down as the #9 wekter in the world?
or
Garay #9 beat Dawson #2, I think Dawson would still be considered one of the best fighters in the division, not the 9th.
I think the fairest way maybe if your beaten the winner takes that spot & you move down one spot, moving the rest of the field all down one removing the 10th ranked fighter.

Maybe we could do a compromise, a normal loss 1 spot, a blowout 2 spots.
Re: The Saddoboxing Sanctioning body
I think this is worth mentioning.
1. What is the purpose of having a weight class?
If the purpose of the weight class is to make sure fighters don't have an unfair weight advantage. Why are fighters allowed to fight at a lower weight class than he started at? Or at least the fight called if a fighter rehydrates more than 7lbs above the weight class.

I'm pretty sure most of us here are capable of telling the difference between a really close contest & a walkover.
e.g. Casamayor/ Katsidis was a very closley contested fight & although Katsidis got ko'd in no way would I call it a blowout. Vitali/ Peter on the other hand was dominant.
I think the final call should come down to yourself killer as I sure everyone on here respects your judgement. Atleast for now... once we start getting those sanctioning fees you may become curruptable!

If Mosley was to loss to Judah right now....he deserves to drop from the rankings all together ;D...jk man,I here what your saying and its a solid point.Maybe we should handle it on a case by case basis.I just feel it would generate a log jam at the top of the division while some lower contenders might get over looked while they hash out rematches and such.I mean,If a guy losses by wide descision to a guy he is expected to defeat, let alone get KO'd...he may very well deserve/need to be dropped more than 1 or 2 pegs sort of adds a spark to the lower ten, keeps it a bit fluid and lively with some guys without the high profiles.
I can see both sides largely, great stuff guys. The ring has Margarito still ranked at #3 after lossing to Mosley, they switched spots,Now maybe I'm in the minority but Tony was broke down and beaten up convincingly,Waaah lol.In that case I actually think he should be dropped a peg or 2 lower than Mosleys previous spot??Killer...Galaxy....your both well thought out and top notch minds,Im cool with what you decide really;D
One huge thing that may save us many headaches about controversial descisions is scrutiny and constant review of the judges and refs.If they hand in an obscene card, put them before a panel and breakdown the rounds. Not to intimidate them or make them hesitant but just seems to be soooo lacking today.
Re: The Saddoboxing Sanctioning body
Why not just delegate the ranking authority to Jose Souliman?
Re: The Saddoboxing Sanctioning body
this is a great idea
we dont need no one telling us who is the best!
saddoboxing title all he way baby;D
Re: The Saddoboxing Sanctioning body
I think we should assign mangers for each weightclass, people could manage more than one, but we can share responsibility for it.
Re: The Saddoboxing Sanctioning body
How are we going to organise the initial rankings for each division? Do we simply follow the Ring's top 10 for each or do we create our own & how?

As per killers previous post, those managing each division would create the ratings for that weight. Then the commitee (whoever is in it) can review it
