Re: British reality star Jade Goody died
Bilbo's argument is still pretty boring. I think he had the hots for her. The dullard.
Re: British reality star Jade Goody died
I am most definitely a cunt ..... I don't think that's in doubt ;D
On the plus point, though, she is contributing to environmentalism, as National Grid reports that it's to set up a unit next to Jade Goody's memorial to harness the static discharge from the shell-suits of the mourners.

Shilpa and that Jackson guy where totally nasty as fuck when Jades Mother and Jack turned up in the BB house and thats what started the whole crap off.... but the Racist card stuck because alot of peeps hate Jade for being untalented and successful ((live by the sword, die by the sword))
R.I.P Jade.
Saddo she was racist with her other model mate making ignorant comments made about Indians eating with their hands and implying they were dirty, and that all Indians are skinny and she called Shilpa "poppadom". Her mother was too ignorant to say Shilpa, two syllables, which Jermaine said to her. Lets not gloss over here because she is dead.

he's annoyingly pedantic anyway and understandably sympathises with Goody having suffered from cancer himself.
Bilbo I never said Kerry Katona randomly popped up in a news paper out of thin air... is she still in Atomic Kitten? She was barely in them... Why is she still making money and in the papers, what does she do? The fact is that once you're in the headlights (for what ever reason, whether you mimed to songs in Atomic Kitten/had your voice Auto tuned in the studio to songs somebody else wrote and performed or were lucky enough to get picked out of the tens of thousands of Chavs out there to be on Big Brother) it's easy to keep that attention as long as you listen to your publicist (the one you'll inevitably get to milk you to the tabloids).
I have never called Goody a waste of space or made light or her death so I'd appreciate you not going off on some tangent about that.
The simple fact is that she has been incredibly lucky to get what she had and incredibly unlucky to die at only 27 and leave two children behind with a bunch of money grabbing scum bags.
To me it just shows how fickle life can be, stop creating.

So you'd rather that when a famous person dies there's just a media silence then?
Not you, you may not give a shit but millions of others do so that's why its covered, FOR THEM.
It's such a non point, people box on fightcards for peanuts all over the world in bouts in front of 50 people or less but let me guess this weekend you watched Vitali Klitchsko and Roy Jones.
Why did you not create a thread praising Ugandan's John Sajabi for winning his pro debut at the Little Flowers Arena in Kampala last night? I see you've had plenty to say about Klitschko and Jones but no mention for the little guys eh.
And what about other sports? Where was your concern for the Paralympic champion Oscar Pistorious who was in a boating accident on Saturday?
Let me put it to you that you didn't mention either of these guys because you have never heard of them and therefore simply do not care.
Well that's how it is in life!
Jade Goody is news simply because her death IS important news to millions of people. So the newstatsions cover it for them.
These anonymous statistics you quote arn't significant to millions of people as nobody knows who they are. It's simple common sense. Just as we on this forum arn't going to talk about an Yong Panduck beating Chin Manoy in Manilla in a 4 rounder neither are the newscasters going to tell us about poor Mary Eller who died in her sleep aged 46 from Turrberry Crescent in Stover, England.
The irony is that you ARE talking about Jade Goody more than those who just acknowledged her sad death and moved on. It's clearly news to you too if you find it important enough to talk about it.
Thats probably true, and that fact alone is sad. Probably just as much as her death. Just an observation about how human beings care too much about some things, and not enough about others and we give more value to somethan others. And undeservedly so. Myself included, ill gve you that.

But mate, ignore the fact that its Jade Goody, its just she was famous beforehand and always in the media limelight so everyone knows her.
And her death played out over weeks with millions watching heart wrenching documentaries about those final weeks.
They watched as she went through her treatment, they watched as she lost her hair and spoke about her illness and how she couldn't find it within herself to tell her children.
They then watched her get married, they watched her get christened to prepare for her death and then when the cameras finally stopped filming they heard news that she had finally passed away.
Remember millions of people watched all these documentaries, just as millions of people had spent maybe hundreds of hours watching her over the course of two Big Brother shows, numerous other documentaries and tv appearances over the years, had read her books etc.
So for those millions of people they felt like they did know her and her death was shocking.
Here on this boxing forum we care passionately about Ali. Sadly the day will come when he passes on and if you could imagine watching those final weeks being filmed on national television, so you we all saw him preparing his goodbyes and gradually getting worse it would be gut wrenching to see.
When he finally died we would demand that he got treated with the proper respect and would mourn his death with feelings of genuine grief (at least most of us).
Now others who care nothing about boxing or Ali might just post things on forums around the net calling him a draft dodger, and all other kinds of crap. It would anger you, it would be blatently disrespectful.
Now I'm not putting Jade Goody anywhere near the same level as Ali in terms of greatness or stature please understand me, I'm just saying that for millions her death was profoundly upsetting for them because they had followed her life for half a decade and witnessed those final weeks on television, in the newspapers and magazines etc.
So the outpouring of grief is very real, for many people.
Just because she means nothing to you, or me or Miles doesn't mean we should disrespect her and shout about how little we give a fuck or how worthless we thought she was.
Can't people just be respectful of someones death that's all I'm saying.
When someone dies who is associated with boxing or football and they have a minutes silence at Old Trafford or they ring the 10 count at Maddison Square Garden people remain silent and respectful even if they don't know who the person is.
It's just basic human courtesy, it has nothing to do with Jade it has everything to do with us as human beings.
Anyway I will get off my stool now I think I've lectured long enough that some of you are wishing it was me who passed away last week ;D
Re: British reality star Jade Goody died
I agree, thats why I wont bash her. I dont care about what she did or didnt do. Children lost a mother, and that is sad. That said, all the people who tuned in to watched her demise, chose to do so. They were fascinated. People like drama and love to feel emotion. Just like if you watch a movie and become empathetic with the character, and then the character dies, you have sad feelings but you knew how the movie was going to end. Or a documentary about someone whos going to die. Any death is sad but it doesnt mean millions of people cared about her, it means millions of people watch to much tv....as for "The Greatest", I gonna leave that one alone....I do understand what your saying though Bilbo.
Re: British reality star Jade Goody died
Dear Jackie,
I am so sorry to hear about your daughter Jade. I can't stop thinking about her little boys.
All my love,
Gary Glitter

Jade Goody swore on her life she wasn't a racist. ;)
