Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
Brian Kenny is absolutely awesome. I love how he would not let him evade question.
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
I thought they both made great points, also both made absurd ones as well. And they are both annoying; especially Floyd with his kindergarten hand clapping session.....patty cake patty cake:p
I think Pac and JMM are both too small for Floyd to fight but f#ck it. Big $$$ fights and good for the sport. I only wish Mayweather/Williams would have happened before Floyd retired and PW moved up; Paul was the only real threat I ever saw for Floyd. I can't stand Floyd and can only hope to see him lose but it won't happen; he'll beat Pac and JMM with little trouble.

LOL, are you kidding me, Kenny knew Pacquaio had lost before, he was just pointing out that a few of the losses had taken place like ten years ago when he was fighting at like 112
I know, huh? But when Floyd ask him first he answered "NO!" until Floyd reminded him that Pac lost by KO and a clear loss to Erik Morales 1. That's when Kenny agreed on the losses.

Kenny openly stated he thought, like most people, Marquez beat Manny last year
Yes, many boxing experts and commentators, other boxers, etc. Also believe that Marquez deserved to win BOTH fights.
Floyd talking about Kenny's job and what not was unnecesary. Still, Kenny would answer and keep his cool:cool:.
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
I will say brian is a cool m'fer, I met him last year at espn, he just breezed right into the studio tie off looked all rumpled... Put his tie on straightened himself out and went on air... Though that TV was some major production for these guys... pretty damn non chelant
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
I think he's the most talented guy at ESPN, he does a good job on Sportscenter as compared to some of the other losers they have.

in Floyd's defense Kenny in a way brought it upon himself with stupid remarks such as "at least i have a job", IMO both were way unprofessional in this interview, Floyd's excuse not the face Mosley was pathetic, but he did have a point in how hypocritical some analysts and writer's can be, agreed with him 100% when he said the Hatton/Castillo bit, and Kenny's response was really weak, he say's Manny's win over DLH was superb, but then Hatton's win was against an over the hill fighter, IMO both wins were weak

And Mayweather brings up a great point. Why is he to big for Marquez, but not Pacquiao?
Because Marquez is an unknown quantity above 135. He has never fought a guy above lightweight.
Pac has demolished a former 154 champ and a former 147 champ in his last two fights.
This is true, but at the same time, we have to ask ourselves, why is Pac's camp insisting that they will only fight Mayweather or Mosley or Cotto at catchweight's if he was indeed so successful against those two bigger fighters?
Floyd, Mosley, and Cotto have found a home at 147. Oscar was a 154 pound fighter but Pac had fought no higher than 135. The 147 catchweight for them was so it would even the playing ground. No one knew Oscar would lose more weight than he had to and have trouble rehydrating. Pacquiao fighting at 147 was just so the freak show could be executed not because he was comfortable at that weight. Hatton was a step down from the Oscar fight but was still considered the bigger man cause he was still a superfeatherweight about a year ago.
I think Manny fighting at catch weights against Mayweather, Mosely, and Cotto are a product of 1) Manny being the big dog now and 2) Because 147 is not natural for Manny. Oscar MADE him look great at 147 but that is in now way a weight class he should be fighting at. I don't know, but if you're the one people want to fight, they should come to you, not the other way around.

I thought that was MAD DICK! Everyone knows Floyd is a cash king but to degrade someone's earning power just because he isn't a million dollar fighter is a low blow IMO. I think it's already a given Floyd earns more than most, no need to point it out. Although Kenny's paycheck probably makes mine look like a tax refund.

I'm glad I wasn't the only person who got annoyed by Floyd clapping along with each word he said. He was saying the right things to defend himself; the clapping was just a bit much.
I swear, Floyd read this site right before going on with the interview cause he reiterated so many points that people make for him on this forum.
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
"Paul Maginalli" ;D
Floyd was already irritated before the interview started. All stuttering and shit.
I enjoyed watching that vid. Good back to back exchanges.
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
I'm not a Floyd fan but he will beat both JMM and Pac fairly easy. Even if he has to go to 143 to fight Pac that will not be any big deal as he loses probably 7 to 9 pounds to make that weight. Floyd will not be drained like ODLH nor will he charge Pac with his hands at his chest asking to be hit. As a matter of fact his lead right should work real well against Pac if he tries to get too aggessive. Either way he wins these fights and makes a ton of money in the process. The only shot they have of beating Floyd is if he has somehow lost a step with his brief retirement. Floyd is a young fighter even at 32 as he has never taken a beating. He might be doing well when he is 50 years old. Look at Hopkins he's never taken a big beating, at least that I can remember, and still performs quite well in his 40s.

Ignore Rains. He can't see logic. Pac's cock poked his eye balls out

why didn't Pacquiao go straight into a 3rd fight with Marquez, instead of fighting the bum Diaz, a weight drained DLH, and the only legit win since he beat Barrera in the rematch, Hatton
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
I'm a big PBF fan and I know he's an ass, but he just says what he believes and he's confident. And with good reason. This interview was funny because he was pissed off as soon as the interview started with Kenny saying the former #1 pound for pound fighter . . .
what you all have to realize is that these interviews don't start off where we see it. They usually have some banter before they go live (usually during previous commercial) and I GUARANTEE Kenny was kissing his ass and then they go live and he starts with that BS.
Kenny was talking big shit and it would have been funny to see if they weren't separated by a thousand miles.
BK:"So, they [Ellerbee and Haymon] didn't want you to face Pacquiao right away?"
PBF: "No, I'm not duckin and dodgin nobody. You know what it is"
BK:"No, I don't. What is it? Bob Arum? . . . if you're the cash king, you can make that [fight vs. Pac] happen"
----
BK: "Pacquiao just faced the same two opponents you did. Who do you think was more impressive?"
PBF: "Me, of course."
BK: "REALLY?"
-----
PBF: "Am I going to get to speak. . .because YOU want to interview ME. I don't want to interview YOU."
Hilarious. What an asshole. He had Floyd flustered and pissed. haha. He would have slapped Kenny if he was in studio.
BK was kissin PAC ass.
PBF: "He got a country behind him [JMM] a COUNTRY!!" LMAO.
-----
PBF: "Yo job don't pay like my job."
BK: "It depends". Lmfao - depens on what? If you add a couple of zeros to BKs salary?
AND FOR ALL OF YOU COMMENTING ABOUT THE CLAPPING. . .THAT CLAPPING LEADS TO A PUNCH IN THE FACE WHERE I COME FROM. KENNY WAS LUCKY THEY WEREN'T TOGETHER.

I wouldn't go that far ;D
Floyd answered some question well but he also flapped and sounded like a wally at times.
Yeah I really don't get this notion that Floyd handled the interview so well. The points he was trying to make were no doubt valid, but he is about as articulate as Charlie Zelenoff in there. If he were truly even remotely intelligent he coud have easily dismantled BK. For instance when Brian tried to grill him on why he wasn't fighting the winner of the two fights between Pac and Marquez, could Floyd not have simply said, "well I personally feel Marquez won both fights, and has looked sensational himself in moving up in weight after the fact." It's perfectly valid to point out that he fought Oscar on his terms when he had something left, and may have severely dented Hatton's punch resistance and ruined his confidence in elite fights. Or perhaps show some humility and simply admit that Pac is the harder puncher yet he controlled the fight with Hatton and has much different strengths than Manny? Styles make fights perhaps? I don't like the way Brian Kenny acted as though he had this major ammunition to grill Mayweather about simply because Pacquiao defeated Oscar and Ricky in quicker fashion. Decent watch though I guess.

There aren't many boxers or human beings that would have just gone off on Kenny and started cursing him out with the way he was trying to subtly take shots. He wasn't being an impartial journalist at all. . .he was rattled. For a person who makes a living and has devoted his life to physical violence against another human, I think he did great no to just walk off and tell Kenny that he would kick his ass when he saw him next. lol.
We aren't talking about Rhodes scholars here fellas.
Re: Mayweather and Brian Kenny About to Rip Into Each Other on Sportscenter
DC I think you are reading to much into this. Mayweather does this everytime he is with Kenny, he even told him before that Kenny was going to be his Howard Cossell. I don't think the former P4P number 1 was a shot, it's the truth. Unless floyd also wants to fight the editors of every P4P list maker out there, I think he was just doing this for publicity which is why he was on the show in the first place.
