I think Ruiz was always on the card as part of the "step aside" arrangement, its another payday.
oh yeah sorry i remember reading something abt that, so if valuev wins he fight ruiz (i cant wait) if haye wins he fights ruiz (oh i just cant contain myself) ;D;D;D
Say what you want about John Ruiz, but IMO he beat Evander Holyfield twice and pretty convincingly aswell, even flooring him and having him on queer street. And this was the same Evander Holyfield fresh off his two fights with Lennox Lewis, the same Evander Holyfield who Lennox Lewis gets so much credit for beating, even though some believe they should be 1-1.
Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
Ruiz is shite, he faked being hit low by Holyfield and pummeled in 30 seconds by Tua, stop making him out to be better than he is.

No im actually just wondering why Lennox Lewis, gets so much credit for beating Evander Holyfield, when John Ruiz beat the same Evander Holyfield and managed to floor him. Yet he gets no credit just because he's not a fan friendly fighter to watch.

No he wasn't the same.
Going into the Lewis fight Holyfield hadn't lost since the third Bowe fight, was the WBA and IBF champion, had avenged his loss (in style) to Moorer and was the man that destroyed Mike Tyson.
Going into the Ruiz fight he was coming off two losses to Lewis and no longer World heavyweight champ.
Huge difference.

As a Holyfield fan that is when I wanted him to retire. After the Lewis fights he had nothing more to prove, had loads of cash and would probably retired the 3rd greatets HW of all time behind Louis and Ali.
Now he has carried on and has loss after loss on his resume to people who wouldn't have laced his gloves in his prime.

holyfield was in his complete prime against lennox and was regarded before the fight as the best in the world fighting for the biggest sporting prize this sport has ever known the undisputed heavyweight championship.
When he fought Ruiz he was a beaten fighter fighting for a version of a title that had little or no interest.

when the hell did i say Tszyu beat Hatton, i did say that Hatton only won cause the ref let him get away with murder, and it's the truth
unlike you who seriously thinks that Hatton had the remote chance of ever beating Mayweather, who actually knocked Hatton the fuck out, unlike Tszyu who just quit

I don't see how 7 months makes a huge difference, which is basically what it was. Quite a few people thought Evander Holyfield beat Lennox Lewis in there 2nd fight, so he was coming off a good performance.
You could also say Evander Holyfield looked shot in the 1st Lennox Lewis fight, he couldn't get any punches off just like in the 1st Michael Moorer fight.
Re: Haye vs Valuev Undercard announced.....
john ruiz is utter shite
the end

Look, even if you think 7 months doesn't make a difference (which it clearly does, especially to aging fighters seemingly past their pomp), you asked why Ruiz doesn't get the credit Lewis did.
Evander was a LOSING fighter going into the Ruiz fight. A LOSS makes a huge difference to the way a fighter is perceived. Holyfield was no longer THE MAN. Lewis was. Ruiz beat a FORMER champion coming off two LOSSES.
