Re: Has Manny Paquiao's reputation taken a serious hit as a result of recent goings o
I went with marginally but if Manny does retire with out facing Floyd, because Roach has been saying Clottey might be Manny's last fight, I would seriously have to be suspicious of Manny and I think I will never look at him in the same way. Time will tell. If Manny does not agree to random drug testing, then he is dirty already. I refused to take a blood and urinalysis test when I got pulled over, busted and taken in. They took my license for a year no if and or buts. The only persons afraid of random drug tests are drug users ;D

You're nuts if you think Floyd doesn't believe he can beat Pac. Completely nuts.
Somewhat agree with HTH here. Dont believe he outright chickened out, but if we are to use the 'black & white' only view of some Pac detractors then we could ask 'why would a guy turn down $40mil against a guy who he says he could beat easily, peds or no peds'.
Personally I think both guys had reservations and pretty much worked together to screw it up, Pac had to fight in March at latest when Roach said after Cotto they needed more time for Floyd. And I think Floyd believes Pac is a threat to his unbeaten record he's worked so hard on over many years. We should be on both their asses to make sure it does happen by years end, instead of taking sides.
Good post, mate.
It goes both ways. If only Manny agreed to Floyd's blood test demand, then we would have that megafight. If Floyd did not brought up that demand in the first place, then we would have that megafight.
I am just curious as to why those who has been questioning Pac's previous accomplishments: beating a nobody in Diaz, weight drained & shell-of-himself Dela Hoya, a no-defense & never elite Hatton & the already damaged Cotto, are also attacking him for not giving in to Floyd's blood test demand. Shouldn't you blame Floyd for coming up with that demand since Manny's accomplishment does not even make you suspicious that he is using?

One demand vs all of the demands Pac, his team, and Roach asked Floyd to agree with. Floyd did agree to all of them, Pac didn’t agree to just one.

All this crap lays in manny's court, if his rep is fucked it's his own fault. Everyone is shitting on poor ole pac ???!!! Then you know what take the test. Story over. Then fight beat floyd get paid be the best. No one stopping him but himself. If the tables were turned people would be crying a damn bitch fit over floyd refusing to take any test. Sad thing is people want floyd to loose so bad cheated or not. You would think everyone would want this fight to be on a level playing field reguardless of the what tests were necessary. For the hype and the amount of money being paid to each it's funny to hear people feel sorry for either of these guys. There are those working 20 hour shifts in coal mines for crap. You can't get this little punk to take a needle for this fight ?? You'll take punches but not a test, one the other guy is willing to take. Like i said if the tables were turned you wouldn't hear any of this crap. Fuck them both. I hope they both loose their next fights, would serve both of them and thier riddiculous fans right
Re: Has Manny Paquiao's reputation taken a serious hit as a result of recent goings o
It is anti-intellectual to equate the demand of a condition with the refusal of the condition. They would be the same if the condition was being imposed on one side of the equation. It was not. It was a demand that both fighters subjected themselves to random drug testing. The fighter who refused to do that is the one responsible for the fight not happening. You guys really need to increase your sucrose intake.
If Manny had made this demand and PBF had refused it the hysterical Manny apologist would be claiming that PBF was a drug user like his father. Their defense of Manny refusal to take the test is pathetic, and will rank in hall of shame as the most ridiculous and obtuse reasoning to ever appear on a boxing page. Guess that does not make a difference with people whose thinking is so screwed up:rolleyes:

His reputation will always be tainted imo. I will never call him a cheater until there is proof but the question will always be there...
After his destruction of Cotto I thought he was absolutely amazing! He still wasn't one of my favorite fighters but he was a brilliant fighter! But that was short lived as now by refusing to take the tests I will always be asking what he was trying to hide? & if indeed anything had gone on, how far back? From the Ledwaba fight onwards Pacquiao has fought brilliantly!
Ability? Or something else? I don't know

Floyd Mayweather Sr. and his gang of scholars attests and swears by it, so it must be something else.
Ability... nah, only the fans believe all that, and they are fools, right? ;)

Absoloutely, 100%. Everybody thinks he's inserting various shiit into his body. Which he aint. But Floyd Mayweather had made it look that way. His reputation will forever be dented, IMO.
Re: Has Manny Paquiao's reputation taken a serious hit as a result of recent goings o
His reputation COULD be tainted but you have all those biased pro-Manny journalists that blind themselves from analyzing all the silly contradicting excuses Manny and his team came up with for refusing a blood test and instead blame it all on Floyd who agreed to all of Pac's demands ironically.
Re: Has Manny Paquiao's reputation taken a serious hit as a result of recent goings o
I thought he was the real DEAL . but when he did not want random testing i knew then he was a FAKE. the reason he is fightin in TEXAS its no testing is done if its made in asia theire is something always WRONG with IT............
