Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
Narrowly edge Collazo, haha it was a completely one sided boxing lesson you clearly didn't even watch the fight.
Shane has looked no worse in recent fights than J M Marquez imo. Marquez lost to Floyd in an even more one sided way than Shane did, he also went life and death in fights with Casamayor, Diaz and most recently Katsidis.
Sure Mosely got a draw last time out against Mora, but Mora is an awkward opponent to look good against and virtually everyone though Mosley deserved the win, the HBO team had him well ahead and claimed the result was a travesty.
The cries that he is done and finised are a bit OTT. Marquez is routinely getting dropped in fights nowadays and having to really go to war to win.
I've seen nothing in their last 4 or 5 performances to suggest that Marquez is performing any better than Shane right now.
He struggled far more with Katsidis than Juan Diaz did, and he struggled more with Juan Diaz than Paulie Maliggnagi did.
Mosley has at least KO'd two huge strong fighters in Mayorga and Margarito. Sorry but Marquez ain't doing that to either of those guys,
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
This just seems like such a backwards step. You fight a guy who has already been taken to school by your biggest rival and whose best recent win is against a guy you pummeled in your last fight.
This fight is about the money, nothing else.
One last big pay day for Mosley, easy money against a big name for Pac.
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
Ok, not the best fight, but certainly not as bad as you are saying.
Dominated Collazo. Check it, it wasn't a close fight, Collazo did hurt his hand early on.
Mora is an ugly fight for anyone, and he beat Forrest, so Mosley didn't do too bad.
Mayweather, enough said.
Margarito was fresh off destroying Cotto, and the prediction for that fight was the same as this one.
Cotto- very close fight, and Shane had Cotto back pedaling the last half of the fight.
Overall, it will be an entertaining fight. And I would pick Mosley to beat JMM so not as interested in the threematch.

Well done to pacroid for finally fighting a welter weight at 147. Major round of applause for that. But lets not forget who he's fighting.
Shane mosley was already old and then he aged a good 10 years between rounds 3 and 12 against Floyd Mayweather. He then went on to look pretty useless against sergio mora, an average fighter at best.
Before that Mosley beat the heck out of Antonio Margarito. An impressive win but was Tony's mind really on the fight that night? taking in to consideration 10 minutes earlier he'd been busted for illeagle handwraps. And let's not forget that fight was the best shane mosley had look in 5 years!
And before that.......
He struggled with Mayorga
Got beat by Cotto
Narrowly edged Colazo who was injured in that fight (correct me if I'm wrong)
To be honest pacroid should stop Mosley, I can't see old man Mosley bringing anything to the table.
Another farce of a pacroid fight.
Lap it up.
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
It's not a crap fight but it's not exciting either. Shane has a little KO chance (10%), Pac's record will have a Shane victory on it (90%). I'd chose Marquez 3 all day long over this.
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
People wanted either Berto or JMM. But imo JMM doesn't belong anywhere north of 135 so for hardcore boxing fans it should have been Berto. Arum has the touch of turning shit into gold he could have promoted that fight, maybe it won't do as much as a Mosley/Pac fight but it would have kept the critics to a minimum and the only excuse would have been that Berto wasn't ready, but then again Berto has been a pro for 7 years already.
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
Agreed Pac Man would wipe JMM at welter and Manny would not go to a lower weight to accommodate plus he is much better than last they fought.
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
I can live with this fight. Obviously I'd rather see PBF - Pac but I think this is a dangerous fight for Pac and I feel if he takes a shot like Floyd did vs Shane it could well be all over at that point. I expect Pac to win but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Shane caught him.
Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
Does this mean Mosley has officially left GBP?

Yep he sold his 1000k share or whatever it's worth.:p
Oscar and Dick Schaeffer are pissed that Shane got the fight instead of JMM.

Yes clear conflict of interest there for all parties.

Ok Mosley beat up a guy that only had one functioning hand. Does that make you feel better? Cuz I'm telling you now it does fuck all for selling the fight to me.

You overestimate yourself in thinking anybody gives two shits what you think.

Re: Pacquiao-Mosley done deal
To be honest I don't think Mosley has much left in the tank, he looked crap against Mayorga, did nothing against Mayweather except for land a good shot very early, other than that he looked very amateurish... then failed to beat Mora...
I think he's getting one more big pay deal before retireing.
