He's just fought, Taylor, Pascal, Dirrell, Kessler and Abraham, he aint exactly a shrinking violet ;)
Agree with Big H, Froch has been in almost as tough as any single boxer out there. Who can you say has had as many tough fights recently? I've said it before Froch has made me a fan. He went to USA to fight Jermain Taylor. He went to Denmark to fight Kessler. Now he is going to Atlantic City to fight Johnson. He is clearly willing to take on all comers. I give him credit for that.
I agree with Mafia though that Froch is arrogant or at the least cocky. At the same time, that might be how he continues to win.
Re: Froch vs. Johnson on Showtime Saturday - the Super Six continues
Glen says he's going to beat Froch to pulp, so the Road Warrior can be a bit arrogant himself. I just hope we get a good, competitive fight Saturday night that's worth watching.
BTW, those of you who think that this will be an easy night for Froch or that he'll KO "old man" Johnson, are going to be sorely disappointed. Glen is a crafty old vet who's going to be anything but "easy", I can see Froch getting a decision, but this will be a hard fight to score, and it could go either way.

I'm with you, I think most fighters will talk up their chances when they're going in to a fight, and nobody is saying that they're going to get beaten badly are they?
I reckon it'll be a fight that goes the distance, and won't be a straightforward one for Froch, but he should be the winner when its all done.
Re: Froch vs. Johnson on Showtime Saturday - the Super Six continues
Froch is not cocky he is just confident, Johnson looks composed and ready to five Carl hell. Froch appears to be an arrogant dick but that is just his nose. :)
Re: Froch vs. Johnson on Showtime Saturday - the Super Six continues
Wow, it's unbelievable how a man like johnson is being underestimated. Based on their styles, Im going with Johnson..
Johnson SD Froch

It seems like I always pick against Froch but I don't know here even though this is finally a seasoned guy and I think Johnson might do it. Tough one, no result would surprise me. Well, a Froch knockout would but that's about it. I could see either guy dominating the fight and either guy winning a close decision.
Agreed and he has never been beaten up. His one stoppage loss to an all time great was from a cut so to be in with the level of comp he has and to still be going at his age is an amazing achievement. Never an easy nights work for anyone but if Carl has the tactics spot on he can still win a landslide aslong as he just about edges every round.
Johnson pours it on so its hard to envision a 1 sided fight. In America any success Glen has will be magnified and Carl will have to make it very clear what he is doing if he intends to box his way to a victory. The one great shot Glen has that stands out is his over hand right. The way he swings it over with such frequency and finds the target is a worry for a guy like Carls whos chin is in the air. Its a punch Carl is open to and if Glen finds a home for it early then Carl will be eating them all night which will take its toll.
Im really looking forward to it because the styles will compliment each other perfectly. After a great effort from Glen I think he finishes second best to Carl on the scorecards. I remember Glens 3 fights with Woods and thought if Woods was just abit sharper and had a better dig he would have won all 3. Froch is just that, better, quicker and hits harder. I give him the edge 116-113

Yup, Glen could "shock the world", but it ain't likely to happen, chances are, like you say, after everything is said and done Froch gets the nod. I just hope we don't see another typical Johnson decision, where Glen does just enough to win the fight, but not enough to convince the judges scoring the fight that he did. A clear cut winner would be nice, I loathe hard to score fights that could go either way.

Wouldn't Sky be showing the Froch fight live at something like 3:00 AM Sunday morning in the UK?
The boxing starts at 8pm and runs right through until 4am I think. It's a long one!
I'll miss most of it travelling back from Wembley, but will be back for the Froch fight.
It's too bad that a lot of good fights carried by Showtime, HBO et al, and shown here in the States live at 9:00 or 10:00 PM EST aren't seen live in the UK until at least 6 hours later. I have a hard time staying awake much past midnight, much less 3 or 4 AM, but then i'm an old fart. :)

Carl knows how to box and adapt and I have said that for years, his footwork with boxing skills will be the difference mid to late. Carl will get involved on the inside and he will be able to take what Johnson has to offer and fire it straight back. This is why it will be an exciting fight, but carl will do enough to take a hard faught decision.
I watched Froch's fight with Kessler again last night and came away thinking that Froch is a tough SOB, I also thought that while Kessler might have done enough to get the decision, Froch won the war.
This makes me believe that if Froch's fight with Johnson turns into a war of attrition (which it likely will), Froch should be able to hold his own, I figure Johnson is going to be a big test for Carl, forget about him being 42 years old.

I figure if Froch loses to Johnson, Rachael will leave Carl, and become Johnson's new woman. :jester:
Re: Froch vs. Johnson on Showtime Saturday - the Super Six continues
has anyone seen the weigh in pics? Johnson looks rather skinny at 166.5.
He made weight for the last fight and this one, but he doesn't look great to me getting down to 168. I still think he will give Froch hell tomorrow night, but I'm not sure getting down to 168 is the greatest thing for his body at his age. It could be the difference in what should be a good close fight.
