The Marquez we saw against Mayweather might be influencing some fans predictions about how he'll do against Pacquiao. Mayweather was much bigger then JMM and twice as skilled, and while Manny at this point in his career has a much better skill set, he and JMM are about the same size.
Although Pac and JMM are about the same size physically, which might lead you to believe that we might see something akin to Pacquiao vs. Marquez II, it ain't likely to happen. Pac will have a big advantage in speed, power and improved boxing ability, that I can't see Marquez being able to overcome.
I don't believe the 3rd fight between these two warriors will be anything like the first 2, since Pac vs JMM II, in 2008, Pacquiao has blitzed through, Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and Mosley, hardly losing a round. S
o why is JMM going to be any different then the other 7? I hate to say a great fighter like JMM has no chance against Pacquiao, but he really doesn't.
Because Marquez has fought Pacquiao close twice before. None of those fighters had experience fighting Manny. I liked that Marquez weighed in at 142 and he appeared more ripped than he usually does.
There isn't going to be a huge size disadvantage here. That is hogwash. They weighed in at 142 and 143 respectively. There always was a speed disparity favoring Pacquiao and that is nothing new. Timing beats speed and Marquez has Pacquiao timed. My opinion is the minority. Most are picking a Pacquiao landslide and Pacquiao finishes him early. Pacquiao started off fast in both their other fights so that may happen again here. If Marquez can survive the early rounds, I like Manny in another great fight, in which he wins a little bit more clearly
. Say 116-112. I may change my opinion as the day goes on though. :oooh:
Right, they seem to be about the same size, so where do I say anything about a huge size disadvantage?
116-112 would mean that Pacquiao only wins 8 rounds and Marquez wins 4 rounds. Keep in mind that Pacquiao hasn't lost a total of 1 or 2 rounds in his last 7 fights combined, but he's going to lose 4 rounds to Marquez?
Because of what happened in Pac vs. JMM I & II, Marquez is being given an unrealistic chance by some in part III. The problem is, these aren't the same 2 pugs who last fought in 2008, Pac is way better, Marquez is not.
I'm not saying Marquez won't give it his best shot, or dissin' him in any way, but JMM will not be able to deal with what Manny brings to the dance this time.

It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong ;D but I take this to be a decently competitive fight. Maybe I'm off by a round or two on the 116-112 so maybe it'll be 117-111. 9-3, but some of those rounds will be close wins for Pacquiao. Most people believe Pacquiao will blow him out of the water. I just think Marquez will bring his best game tonight and he knows how to fight Pacquiao. When was the last time Pacquiao faced a counter puncher? Every single one of the wins you mention have been against offensive fighters. The last time Pac lost more than two rounds was against who? I said prior to the Pretty Boy-Ortiz fight that Marquez will be a tougher fight for Pacquiao than Ortiz was for Mayweather and I stand by it.

It's not unreasonable to believe that Marquez will do better then most people think Rant-cat, and what you're saying makes sense, even if I don't happen to agree with it.
I'm looking foward to seeing this fight tonight, like a lot of fights, the first few rounds will speak volumes about the eventual outcome.
cheers
Re: Pacquiao vs. Marquez III - Saturday fight/chat thread
Following the sad path laid down most recently by Mayweather & Bhop, Casamayor gets racial with it at the Bradley/Casamayor weigh in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yhWP...?v=1yhWPRSj8NY
At approximately 3:36, Casamayor says "sit down n*igger."

I can't get over the price of PPV in the states. $65, that is extortion. £15 ($25) over here is bad enough
Yeah, it's crazy, that's why i'll be hunting a stream tonight.
Re: Pacquiao vs. Marquez III - Saturday fight/chat thread
He was a bit annoying there Casamayor. He will lose tonight.
Re: Pacquiao vs. Marquez III - Saturday fight/chat thread
Want Bradley to take this, but his rushing in head first style plays directly into Casamayor's strength that short straight left.
At any rate, I'll be watching at my local roofy free watering hole. $10 cover makes it reasonable. Enjoy tonight gentlemen, will be back tomorrow to discuss the robbery/dubious knockdown and horrible scorecards. :D

casa's legs are gone. He hasn't looked very good for 3-4 years.
Re: Pacquiao vs. Marquez III - Saturday fight/chat thread
PPVs in the US are highway robbery. I'm not paying for this fight. If they were 30-35 dollars I'd buy almost every single one. When they charge so much, I'm not buying a PPV unless it is absolutely stacked from top to bottom (like Cotto vs Cheato II) or the main event has to be unbelievable (like Pac vs Mayweather would be).
