Canelo to face Ortiz

Ortiz is no where good enough to look past fighters and call shots...... i say he gets blasted by lopez and canelo looks on for another opponet

Mathew ahatton was far from world class and was only a welter but he pushed the ginge all the way;D

Also, Ryan Rhodes? He got to the final bell?

Canelo is only 5,9" and doesnt carry much power. Like I said, Hatton or Rhodes wouldnt see the final bell against Ortiz.

I cant see him moving up anytime soon;)

This is an untested Canelo we are talking about that struggled with Mathew Hatton;D

Regardless of what people are saying, this is going to be a fun fight.. I thought Canelo showed great maturity against Mosley. He fought like a veteran..I don't see this whole "Canelo wasn't confident" stuff..maybe I watchrd a different fight.

If the relentless Ortiz shows up that came to fight against Berto then he will give anyone trouble, especially a Canelo who can tend to take his foot off the gas. This is a pick em fight for me - I can see it being one sided for either of them. Will be fun that's a guarantee

I think Cotto beats both Canelo and Ortiz quite handily at this stage of his career... only way he loses is if they wait 2-3 years to make the fight. I think Cotto clearly beat Clottey and the Mosley fight was close, but Cotto clearly won by outboxing the boxer. I also think the victory over Margarito was great, because Cotto changed his style to beat Margarito into submission. And Cotto also gave Mayweather the closest fight he's had in many years. But besides that, I don't disagree with anything else.

Cotto would take both of them. Why? Well it's simple, he still packs a big punch, he's a warrior, and has a huge heart, and he can box. There's depth to Cotto's game that Ortiz & Canelo haven't seen. Cotto can fight orthodox or southpaw, he can lead, he can counter, he can stalk a fighter down or make a fighter chase him. And he keeps a balanced head, he doesn't get all emotional in a fight the way Ortiz does. People think Cotto is "finished" because of his fights vs Margarito & Pacquiao, but big hit by loaded wraps and being weight drained and not having a trainer MAY have affected his performances....just saying.

As for Canelo & Ortiz, it will be a great fight, I just don't expect Victor Ortiz to hurt Canelo or finish the fight on his feet. Ortiz gets a little wild at times and I think Canelo can catch him repeatedly.

This is an easy win for Saul, Ortiz will be an easy fight, cannot believe so many people giving Ortiz a chance. Crazy.

I don't think anyone was givin him a shot against bertoand he proved us wrong. If he shows up determined like he did against berto and refuses to wilt he's got a great shot.

He will get convincingly beat.

If Lopez comes to fight, and fights the way he can- aggressively, sitting down on his punches- Ortiz won't be fighting Alvarez. Lopez will stop him in 6-8 rounds.

Cotto can't take Canelo's or Victor's shots and I would put money on it.
What Cotto could do to both is out jab and and circle with the left hook, might win him the decision.
I just don't think he can handle eithers pressure/strength.
Cotto would get bullied IMO.

I know what you mean. I was only on Butes side in that fight due to what other people were saying about him as I have not seen many of his fights.
But having watched Conellos fights I just see something special in him. Ortiz is a great fighter and should not be counted out at all and he has a better record of fighters but im just going with my gut feeling on this after seeing most of either of there recent fights. I am going for Conello.
I just have a feeling Ortiz will swing wrecklessly and Conello will take advantage of that.
Plus after reading all the comments on this post it seems the majority is in Ortizes favour to win.
Also Mosley survived against Mayweather and Pac. I dont think Ortiz would stop him.

The difference between Cotto and those two guys is that he knows he doesn't have to take those punches. As for the pressure, Cotto's power and accuracy would deter them along with a rejuvinated attack to the body.

I'm 100% certain Cotto whips Ortiz, I'm more like 85-90% certain he beats Canelo.
