here is MY take on this long overdue fight. I am a mayweather hater, i admit it. BUT...seeing as how he finally accepted the fight, props to him!!! he does have the balls i guess.
Prediction: well, if mayweather don't weasel out of the fight somehow, he will 1). buy the judges AGAIN and get a gift decision in a long fight of floyd running and potshotting, and of course it will be considered good boxing by the corrupt judges and he will get the nod. for running!!!
manny will be the more aggressive one and land the better/harder punches.
or 2). hopefully!! MANNY HAS TO KO FLOYD TO WIN~!!!! especially in vegas.
if it goes the distance - we will see a mayweather/maidana 1 all over, but manny will punish floyd much more than maidana did. it wont matter tho, because the decision will already be made before the first bell rings. after all, its vegas and its floyd TBE mayweather!! :rolleyes:

I think a lot of fans look at floyd and judge/hate him on his antics outside the ring rather than just compare both their skills in the ring and choose the better fighter.
Manchester United are a great football team but they aren't on that Barcelona level.
Time will tell. I am judging Floyd on his last few fights and he doesn't seem to have it. Manny isn't quite the same either, but his speed and output are still there and Floyd is going to have a tough time negating that all night long. If Maidana can take 5 and Cotto can take 5, then why not Manny who is much better than them? Pac is probably going to land over 200 punches on Floyd and I can't see Mayweather eating them all and staying upright. Plus Manny is so much quicker than anyone Floyd has been in with for years. Floyd can handle southpaws, Floyd can handle power, Floyd can handle speed, Floyd can handle output, but I don't think he can do it against a fighter who has all four of those things. The Maidana fights revealed a lot about Floyd, he is still smart and he can adapt, but he is old and slowing.
He is old and slowing but floyd has quick hands and is the fastest opponent that manny has ever faced as well...
Manny will provide a great test but unfortunately marquez has shown us how to nullify that speed and has set the blueprint on mannys flaws..
True, Floyd is still fast and is the smartest fighter in the game. Marquez worked out Manny, but Manny worked out many of Mayweather's opponents and not only worked them out, but destroyed them. Styles make fights and that is why we are all going to be talking about it a lot, lot more!

One thing that people fail to see when they try to show Floyd's weaknesses by referring to the cotto and maidana fights is that both of them are pressure fighters which don't rely on speed but making you uncomfortable, and also that both are quite a bit bigger than Pac. Pac will not be able to push Floyd to the ropes like them nor does he even fight in that style.
I would say that the best argument you could make would be referencing to the zab fight because their styles are a bit more similar (although definitely have differences). But Pac fights more of the jump in and out style like zab tried to do with Floyd. The difference though was that Pac has slowed a lot and is no where near as quick as zab was.
It's possible that Pac can catch Floyd but it has been possible for all of his opponents to do it too. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Pac may be the best fighter Floyd has ever faced, but it definitely won't be his toughest fight. I can't see Pac winning more than 3 rounds.

Floyd wins. I just dont see Floyd allowing himself to lose to Pac-Man. I don't see another Floyd - Canelo washout but I do see Floyd winning, maybe even by stoppage.
Floyd has fought the best and beat the best. The build up to it is going to be of Jurassic proportions. I'm looking forward to the HBO 24-7, almost as much as the fight (lol).

Manny is erratic all out with some holes in defense.
I think more towards Marquez as the best Manny has fought.
Floyd made Marquez look wanting but shouldn't really compare styles I suppose.

I don't know about all that but every iota pre and post fight will be discussed here I an insane manner. We've been talking about this fight for years. It will be interesting. There is a lot of dislike for Floyd but those of us who dislike his arrogance and women beating still appreciate him as an incredible boxer. What I am most interested to see is what Manny can do about that jab. I think Floyd has one of the best jabs of all time and no one has an answer for it. It sets up everything. I think the consensus is Floyd, even being a Manny fan I probably agree but certainly don't write Manny off. I'm interested to hear from @
pacfan to see what the mood in the Philippines is. They must be rockin. It'll be interested to see what the bookmakers in Vegas come up with. I'll probably throw a few bucks at Manny.
I do have to say Mannys story is amazing, from a poor kid hustling in the streets of the Philippines to this, the biggest financial fight ever. It's late, neither of these guys are what they were buts it's going to be a he'll of an event. The undercards have to be great as well. Well, buds, you've guessed it right. The announcement was a headline item in all the news programs here and many media outfits interrupted their usual programs to make the announcement. The story was just a bit ecclipsed though by the recent massacre of 44 police special force members here, who were ambushed after taking out a Malaysian terrorist who masterminded the Bali bombing. Manny told that he will dedicate the fight to these fallen police officers. So I say, go Manny!!!

Good points. Floyd's counter punching is by far the biggest factor in this fight.
