C'mon!! I love Pac for destroying De La Hoya, but let's face it... Oscar was a shell of his former self in there. Don't make the mistake of reading too much into that. Hatton is a hell of a lot closer to his own peak than DLH was to his. Also, Hatton's bullying and mauling style is certain to overwhelm the smaller Pacquiao. Geez... my only concern is that Hatton fans are going to argue for Hatton # 1 p4p status when in reality it won't be deserved. I'm starting to hate these out of weight division fights...
No one brave enough (or dumb enough? :) ) to start this poll??
"Do you think Hatton will inflict the worst beating ever on Pac?"
Remember PAC been KO'ed two times already... ;) and beaten by Morales... 3 losses already on PAC's resume... Can Hatton top those losses? ;D
[If he knocks out Pac in the 1st round. ;)]
But for me these are the lingering questions:
- Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?? Well, Hatton's got the one loss, but it wasn't so much a severe beating as it was embarassing.
- Should PAC smash Hatton rather easily?? No, not easily.
- Is Manny Pacquiao the man to end Ricky Hatton's career? If Hatton loses to the smallish Pac, yeah... he might decide to retire.
- Do you think PAC will score a knockdown on Hatton? Definite maybe. Collazo, hardly a big puncher, staggered him.
Hey, don't get me wrong. I'll be rooting for Pac. At the rate he's going, he'll probably want a piece of either Mosley or Cotto next.
;) ;)

Of course you'll be rooting for PAC, you're a bonafide PAC hugger... (joke) ;D
I imagined you jumping for joy, grinning ear to ear when PAC annihilated the crossdresser... ;D

Pacman is going to peel Hatton's cap. To bad we wont be able to tell the difference because when some one peels your cap, a pink base is all that is left but Hatton is already pink, so we wont be able to spot it but, Hatton is going to get owned in his own division by a midget ;D

I think that Pac has the speed and as he has proven in those important fights you listed, speed is power and every time he moved up in eight except for the De Lahoya fight, he prepared systematically with excercise and nutrition. He took care to train hard and long. It wasn't afluke and Hatton is easy to hit and he cuts if the wind blows on his face just right. De La Hoya was the unlucky recipient of a well planned fight by an exceptional athlete that proved size means nothing and it's all in the preparation. Hatton is becoming more and more one dimensional with each fight. He's good but I think he is looking at the decline if the hill he climbed to get to where he is. Someone had better tell him just for this fight, it is no crime to duck.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
why is it that when a hatton fan has a biased opinion he is considered to be naive but when its silly pacquiao fans starting ridiculous threads like these they are "true fans"??
Think you americans are taking calzaghes domination of a once bonified american division a little too much to heart. Maybe along with the fact you still cant get over the fact we took over vegas when ricky fought floyd and yes a few good idiots indeed decided to boo your national anthem.
Really hope all you pac blowjob lovers get behind your man 100% come May 2nd, because the brits are coming over and 1 man inparticular will be going over and coming back to britain with all his belts intact.
And then just like with joe calzaghe...just like with lennox lewis you can all pick the bones out of it and comfort yourselves with the fact
"hatton would never of beaten pacquiao at 126pounds"

Just like how Cotto got knocked out by Margarito, the supposedly "Baddest man on the planet" :lolhaha:
Look what a 36 yr old Shane Mosely did to him. Yet Cotto got brutally destoryed.

Oh my friend but in LIGHT of new findings, there is a very STRONG possibility that Margarita CHEATED ;D Not even Chino is firing back at me now that Tony was caught with the PLASTER of PEREZ in his wraps. Your argument does not hold much water anymore on this subject. Sure Cotto got beat up but then again so did Billy Collins Jr. and for any one to brag about that beating  well you get the idea.
Oh and in closing, Hatton is going to get beat up like a red headed step child for however long he can last in the ring against PACMAN. I think Hatton will show us in this fight why he is considered such a HUGE hugger. Hatton is not going in against a soft hitting Paulie Malignaggi. word.

Yeah I'll agree Pac-fans do post some stupid threads, not like certain British posters claiming that Calzaghe is a top 5 p4p ATG
IMO Pac-fans are a bit delusional at times, but its not like some Brit fans aren't as well claiming that Calzaghe is better than Sugar Ray Robinson or that Ricky Hatton would have beat Mayweather if it wasn't for Cortez. & before you think I'm some kind of hater, I've got my ticket over there to support Hatton, I just don't blind myself to obvious truths. If anything I will agree that Lewis was horribly underrated, for me the best HW since Holmes.
I can't believe I've done a post defending Pac-fans, I've become everything I have ever hated ;)

He may of been cheating when he threw punches at Cotto but wearing hand wraps certainly wouldn't of contributed to Tony's chin, how he was able to take ALL of cotto's shots and keep coming forward?

You're speaking as if Hatton has only fought soft hitters all his life.. which makes me think you've never even watched a Hatton fight. There's no doubt in my mind Tsyzu hits harder than pac man,so if Hatton can walk through all of his punches and keep coming at Kosta then what is pac man hoping for?

Please refer to the video below Joe

I guess you were wrong about me not seeing any Hatton fights ;D
Now getting back to Cotto real quick, had it not been for the hand wraps, Cotto would have stopped Tony just as Mosley did.
Now let's get back to Hatton, I don't think this version of Hatton is going to be the same version we saw against KT and that is all I need to know about that. Pac is going to be all over Hatton like white on rice. You will then see that Floyd could have and should have done the same. PBF only tee'd off on Hatton in one or two rounds and Floyd could have done so all night had he chose to do so. Pacman on the other hand will choose to tee off on Hatton all night long as he did against ODLH. In closing, PBF could have done the same thing to ODLH but he did not. End. I wont make any excuses for KT as there are many but Hatton is not fighting KT. Hatton is fighting a prime real Pacman and Pacman will show the world how to take care of business.
-
Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
I can see Hatton stopping Pac around the 9th via a body shot in what will be an absolute classic - toe to toe warfare
Ricky's face will be a mess by then yes - but should hold out ...
But of the two I give Pac a better chance of beating Mayweather
It's a funny old game.....:)

But yeah, I apologise.. it's clear to me now you're not as biased as you seemed. Nice collection, how many dvds in the case in total?

That case you just saw has 128 DVD's I have cases and shelves full of fights ;D
As far as me being baised? I have nothing against either fighter, I just think PACMAN is just a little hungrier than Hatton is right now. There is still a lot of time before this fight so anything can happen. I still say Hatton takes a beating. If Paulie Malignaggi was able to touch up Hatton's face I can't even begin to imagine what Pacman might do but it wont be a pretty picture that's for sure.

Come on now, your beyond biased. What proof you got of Margarito beating Cotto with handwraps ? None whatsoever. He beat him fair and square.

What can we say about Margarito? He is another Luis Resto. Luis did not confess until about 20 years after the fact, so I guess we might not ever know with Tony as he has shown the same nonchalant attitude Luis Resto did when he was caught, no remorse, no guilt, no shame. Luis was not a pound for pound fighter either who had already lost 8 fights coming into his bout with Collins Jr. You know in your own little heart that Margarito cheated. I don't care what you type, every boxing critic with any credibility will tell you that Margarito most likely cheated. But if you are stupid enough to believe that Tony tried to cheat against an old Mosley whom Cotto just beat and that Tony did not cheat against a young buck like Miguel Cotto then you are either delusional or you are just trying to get my attention but you are making yourself look pretty foolish regarding the matter now in light of the new findings in the wraps ;D Like I said before, not even Chino is coming at me with that madness that you are coming at me with because now he understands how and why Miguel lost. Ain't that right Chino? It's called YESO, that is Plaster in Spanish, que no carnalito? Chinito? Donde andas? Chino! Where you at homer? lol

OK boyz and girlz, I (or we) enjoyed your Margarito vs. Cotto "worst beating with or without the loaded gloves" discussion... but remember this is the "Pacquiao vs. Hatton worst beating" discussion thread... :p
Do you want me to start a thread titled "Do you think Margarito can inflict the same worst beating on Cotto without wearing loaded gloves?" ... ;D

No one is denying the possibility that he cheated in the cotto fight but are you saying that if Tony weren't wearing hand wraps, cotto would of won? I think thats a pretty bold statement if you do mean it like that, we could all see Cotto's punches werent having any effect, and I think Tony would of wore him down eventually as we all know he hits hard, hand wraps or not.. but I guess with the hand wraps he was able to wear him down a little faster.
Still.. I wouldn't mind seeing a Cotto-Marg rematch, and check Tony's hands this time

I agree, it was a personal attack against me because I am picking PAC over Hatton. I don't understand why people have to stray from the topic. I guess those who bring up Margarito in a Pac/Hatton thread really have nothing more to debate about when it comes to Pac vs Hatton, right? I guess so. They know in their little hearts that Pac is going to own Hatton so they try to attack me and hope the subject some how changes. ;D

It's hard to debate when your debating with biased pac fans lol A debate is a two-way thing but all SaddoBoxer has done in this thread is present his incredibly biased opinion and bigged pac man up a thousand times over, and disregarded any post someone made about Hatton.. how can you debate in this situation?
For the record I think Pac Man is a little overrated (at higher weights, anyway) and will slowly but surely crumble under Ricky's pressure, but I find myself thinking 'why bother' in this thread... as a pac fan, most likely filipino (did I spell it right this time?), will come along and worship Manny some more, totally disregarding my opinion.

Don't you find it odd that against Mosley, Margarito's punches had no pop? I don't know if Tony hits hard with out the PLASTER or not but against Mosley, it sure looked as though those punches were not only soft but Tony was reduced to throwing pitter pat punches going into the 5th round and this is when and where the plaster begins to harden in the gloves but since there was no plaster this time, there was never the pop. I guess we shall just have to wait until next year for the rematch which is ok with me. I will settle for Mosley/Cotto 2. Berto/Cotto 1. Clottey/Cotto 1. Quintana/Cotto 2. Williams/Cotto 1. Cintron/Cotto 1 what ever. There are plenty of fights for Miguel if he can get past that deadly fighter known as Michael Jennings ;D

Chino! Where you at homer? lol
Still.. I wouldn't mind seeing a Cotto-Marg rematch, and check Tony's hands this time
Don't you find it odd that against Mosley, Margarito's punches had no pop? Another point i'd like to make is that Cotto's nose was broken by a Marg punch and that was why he started to wear out. If Marg was not cheating he might not have broken his nose and Cotto would IMO taken a wide points win.

Congrats Bro Joey, you got the spelling right this time... ;)
BTW, here's another "bias" evidence. A picture of Hatton's assistant trainer Lee Beard (giving PAC some tips on how to inflict...?? )... :lolhaha: Hatton's assistant trainer is a huge PAC fan... a PAC nuthugger... ;D

Hatton is no easybeat, pacman might win but it will be one helluva fight, Hatton will give his all and no matter what happens we will all be entertained. The Fatman has a big chance in this fight and i reckon it's 50/50 who beats down on who?

Pac is being completely overrated on the back of the Oscar win. He has fought only 1 time above 135 pounds, and lets face it DLH was as much awful as Pac was good. Hatton is going to be the bigger man in this fight, and he is going to land on Pac harder than anybody has ever done so before. If Hatton can show the resolve of the Kostya fight, he might well break Manny up. Pac is far from unbeatable as Marquez has shown as recently as a year ago.
The Pac nuthuggery is overboard, and though partly driven by his undoubted talent, is also driven by fervent nationalism and a disregard for anything non-Pac. I choose to ignore the arguments that I think are worthless because its just a waste of time. You cannot have a meaningful debate with a someone who dangles off a fighters balls. And you shouldnt, its just not becoming.

But I am not a pac fan per say but I respect him as a person and a fighter. So why do the Hatton NUTHUGGERS have to try and change the subject and bring up Cotto? I don't get it.
Furthermore, PBF hit Hatton ONCE and he knocked him out straight up pink face first against the ring pole, what is Hatton going to do when Pacman hits him more than once? Maybe Hatton will bounce off all four poles before he gives another one of those British Queer dances he gave us against PBF :)

1. The cotto-margarito fight was brought up by Leftylee to illustrate the last time you said someone was gunna destroy someone it didn't exactly pan out the way you said it would, or I guess that's what he was getting at.. which is a honest point really, it's pretty stupid to declare so and so is going to get destroyed in the ring come fight night, there are so many variables.. boxing is too unpredictable.
2. It wasn't just ONE punch.. PBF hit him with a shit load of solid punches. On top of that, Hatton was caught off-balance as he was lunging towards Floyd like he had been doing all night, which probably was why he fell face first into the ring post.
I can't believe so many brit posters are posting this time of night! It's 4:29 lads, what's going on. I'm going to sleep..

The Cotto thing is something I dont know about TBH and it isnt related to Hatton: Pac. Maybe Ive missed something earlier in this thread, I havent read all of it. But I dont get the comparison.
Yes, PBF knoced Hatton spark out. But its a different fight and lots of different variables. Hatton isnt stepping up to face a guy settled into the higher weight like PBF was. And lets not forget that Hatton was still in that fight until Cortez docked the point for Floyds theatrics. Hatton is competitive with the very best, no doubts about it. Everything that could go wrong went wrong against Floyd. And the good thing to come from it is that Hatton has decided to not just come back and do it all again, but to adapt.
Hatton dominated Malignaggi in a way that Cotto (now I will bring him in) himself couldnt do. Hatton showed patience and outboxed the boxer with a smart gameplan. I predict that we will see a further evolution of Hatton against Manny. He wont be as reckless and will take care to ensure that he wont be a sitting duck for Pacs ambushes. Of course Manny is going to hit Ricky, but Hatton can take a shot and has been hit by bigger punchers than Manny. Hatton will be working on his head movement and using his guard to deflect blows. Hatton is going to be much harder to hit than Diaz and DLH, and one reason is Hattons footwork. Malignaggi was surprised at how quickly Ricky got in close and Pac will be the same. Hatton will be in there closing the gap with lightning speed. Hatton doesnt have as quick hands, but they are heavier than Manny's too. If he can land enough early on, and cause some damage to the body, I can see Manny getting seriously discouraged.
Manny is the one stepping up in weight here, against a very live fighter. Can you envisage Hatton just standing there like Oscar or posing as limited a threat as Diaz? Come on now, be realistic. Manny could well be doing the "queer dance" himself.
Ive always said this is a pick 'em. And its such an exciting fight because of all the variables at play and I maintain that the betting odds are too far in Pac's favour and do not reflect the realities of the situation.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
I tried to stay away from this thread coz whatever I say, people will always assume that I'm saying it because I'm a pacfan.
You can, however, take a look at my post regarding Hatton vs Pac before Pac demolished DLH.
I've said there that Pac would have no chance of beating Hatton. That Hatton will be too much for Pac.
Without being biased, I'm must say that I said all those things because Pac was still untested in the higher weights.
Now people can always claim that Pac was fighting an old DLH. OLD in the sense that anybody can do what Pacquiao had done on DLH.
With that proposition , I must therefore give my most vicious dissent.
Yes, Pac is fighting an old DLH but nonetheless a DLH whom PBF could hardly win (remember, it was a split decision!).
After watching that fight, I'm forced to conclude Pac will be all over Hatton. If Hatton could stand Pac's onslaught, he would give Pac a hardtime. However, based on Hatton's performance against PBF, I could hardly imagine what Pac would do to Hatton.
With due respect to Hatton, with the way he handled Malignaggi, I'm giving him 45% against Pac.

Same feeling here Bro Bruce... I intentionally didn't form and push hard my own opinion about this fight coz we already know that being tagged as PAC fans, our opinions will be just considered as biased opinions instead of considering it as unbiased evaluation of the match-up...
So I just push hard the opinions of several boxing writers that PAC might just possibly smash Hatton into pieces in this fight... ;)

Good post! I too thought Oscar would beat Manny. I can't see any other 135 guy doing the same job as Manny.
Hatton will always be one of my favourite fighters but for me, he loses this one.

In My case, I already made up my mind 2years ago that this will be a one sided beatdown by Pac. In ESB I made a Lifetime bet with this fight. I'm that sure Pac will beat Hatton.
Here's a link where I Predicted That Pac will fight JMM, Diaz, DLH & Then Hatton consecutively. This was right after PBF Koed Hatton.

Re: Do you think PAC will inflict the worst beating ever on Hatton?
I think Hatton is gonna give Pac a tough fight. It's gonna come down to Hattons timing, he looked real good against a fast Paulie. Hopefully he can build off that from continued work with Floyd Mayweather Sr.

I'm cool. I'm just not into the Nostradamus nonsense. "Oh, I predicted a couple of wins for my favourite fighter in the whole wide world....and of course, Hatton was always next in line for a beat down!". Erm, of course.
I am very realistic these days and that's why I concede it's a fight that can go either way. But those betting odds are out of line, and are blown up. Great for anyone wanting a bet on a Hatton win though.
