Whattaguy Haye is. All about the fans. It would be easier if it was on itv or channel 4 Dave, that way we can record it . Ta
You're all heart though.
What goes around comes around and all that. Tosser
That would be perfect if David Haye was to fight live on ITV or channel 5. That would get me on his side. Bringing back the good old days.
Your easily pleased!
Like a beaten under the thumb wife who was bashed about when he got home from the pub but he buys some flowers from the garage on his way home from work the next day.:-X
Wow! Uh, Yeah, just like that if you say so. Is there something you want to tell us Ross? ;D
Just like when Haye said Harrison was going to feel like he was getting gang raped;)
I see. ;D

Right then....!
Has anyone got any definite word on which platform this Haye fight will be shown yet?
Seems very late in the day to not have something concrete in place!!
Also does anyone know how ticket sales are doing?
Londons O2 arena holds around 18,000 and I'd be fucking amazed if he's shifted a quarter of that yet?

I was wondering exactly the same thing re tickets. You'd expect a TV announcement before Friday. Or a cancellation announcement??!?

I read earlier this week that no one seems to be stepping forward to take this fight and that it may be streamed live to Hayes own Youtube page. I don't know how true it is though. Haye has said today that there are only 2000 tickets left!!

Well apparently on whatever site it is you buy the tickets there are more than 2000 left available.
I cant see this show going ahead or at least without ruining Haye. I wouldnt want to see that as much of a twat as he is.
He should have just fought on a matchroom undercard and given the responsibility to put the show on to someone else. Hes going to ruin any credit his name still holds by looking shit against De Mori or even losing.
He thinks hes still a massive draw but no one wants to commit anything to a Haye fight any more. Too much risk involved.

To be honest if Haye can still walk around without the help of a zimmer frame and can actually throw a punch he should be able to KO De Mori with ease. The thing is there is such a gap in levels between where Haye was and where De Mori is that anything other than a dominant and fast KO would terrible for him. I'm saying Haye will win in the first 3 and if he still has 50% left it should be a first round KO.
Do you thnk Haye will lose Ross?

No! I think Haye SHOULD wipe him out inside a round.
Its not a very confident pick for an opponent though.
Ike Ibeabichi is trying to get Andy Ruiz as a come back opponent.
Vitali Klitschko came back and fought WBC title holder Sam Peter after 4 years out!

Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Haye has just announced that it will indeed be on Dave on his FB page.

The only thing he will add is a name and a sellable opponent for someone.
I thought Tyson Fury would be too much for him 2 years ago (and evidently he felt the same) I think the gulf now has not narrowed;)
-
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
The positive is he's on free. Has to look explosive now. He will have realised the public ain't buying his bullshit any more. Still want to see how full the o2 is...
-
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Read they've sold 13,000 tickets so far. What! If that's true it shows how big a crossover star he is. It's a shit fight with a pony undercard. People are specifically buying tickets to watch him.
Wouldn't be surprised if his next fight is for a "world" title.

You thinking Wilder or the next IBF holder?
-
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
With the belts being carved up the gangs will all want Haye to be involved with their belt. Bigger the star, the more dough they make

Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
The David Haye fight is going to be shown live on "Dave"
A satellite channel famous for showing has-been comedy shows from the previous decade
;D

Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
That's an amazing amount of tickets to shift for a garbage fight if it's correct and Haye against a live opponent can do far more than the O2 20000 capacity. If they both win another fight or two Haye against Joshua could fill the Emirates and upward.

Haye's fight with Joshua will be on MTV,
Haye's fight with Fury will be on Comedy Channel

Some good points in the interview below from Haye
He's on bbc2 and BT sports over the next few days.
To pretty much sell out the O2 arena single handidly with zero promotion and a shit undercard is fucking impressive.... add to that its 2 weeks after Xmas and NYE when people are skint and its very very fucking impressive.
One thing Haye has always been is brilliant at marketing himself.
If he delivers by KO then he will get a title shot within 12 months, id bet my house on that ;)
The big question is can he still bang after the shoulder op?
If he has a nice juicy scar round the shoulder then maybe Ross will shut the fuck up hahaha
I think its great he's come back as i've not seen lively discussions on the Heavyweight division on here for years :)

Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Is it just ticket companies who have bought up the tickets?
You will tell as they wont have the lights on over the empty areas.
-
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
But will his toe be OK by then?
-
Doubt it and you did state that no one will take a risk on Haye :)
Fact is he's a household name and very tv friendly so has a massive fanbase from non boxing fans.
Like I said the guy is very clever and very good at marketing himself.

And what will happen? Haye will attempt to get some kind of deal done, it'll fuck with the fight date, it'll get postponed, Haye will do what he always does which is bark on the tv shows but nobody will be there to listen to him because Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have eclipsed him by doing their work in the ring.
David Haye will be LUCKY to get a fight vs Dillain Whyte after all this shit and when Haye's speed and timing go he'll be absolutely wrecked in the ring and he'll go on fighting a bunch of bums and gunning for the British title because he'll have blown all his money and it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.....the fucking prick
I've missed this guy sooooooo much. Lyle where are you? Come talk to me!!

Oh mate you are spot on!! David Haye is a marketing genius, he could definitley talk himself into another world title fight and if he blows De Mori away which lets face it he should do he'll probably get one. He should be a politician.
Love him or hate him though he brings interest to the division and the sport!
-
Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
Anyone able to find footage of this De Mori bloke getting chinned? It was ten years ago but it would be of more use than watching him beat up some bin men.

Never bet the house on a fight. There are great examples every year but just remember Ali vs Foreman.
Ross will never shut up, if he's not talking he's asleep, even then he's probably dreaming about what he's going to say! ;D

I was actually thinking this morning would be interesting to see if theres any scar. Going by all the vain twats pictures and videos on his twitter there arent any.

Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
I wonder if the fight will contractually have to finish either on the hour or on the half hour to ensure that the 'witty banter' on the channel isn't overly disrupted.
I've spat more interesting bits of kebab out on the floor compared to that undercard, really don't get how he's sold out the O2. Unless he's been giving them away to disadvantaged children and their families.

I never knew how Froch v Groves sold 80,000 tickets and what the fuss was all about. Benn v Eubank was bigger and Ricky Hatton never got that crowd.

The power of social media, the extra exposure over the internet.
Imagine Benn and Eubank nowadays bitching over twitter for millions to see live! They would eat it up!

Re: Haye comeback fight on free to air tv
I'm with you don't get how Haye has sold out the O2 - maybe his I'm a celebrity fame.
The non-boxing fan won't hold grudge or see him for what he really is like we do - but I do admit if he's still 90% of what he was he'll be top 5 come a week Sunday.
And ye how the hell did Froch - Groves sell 80k tickets !!! I didn't even know they sold that many, it's a good job Carl Froch has mentioned that on occasion or I'd never know
