I guess I'll say it again since you're obviously not able to comprehend. Floyd no longer fights based on who your promoter is.
He fights based on if he's felt disrespected. I don't seem to recall Frank Warren landing Hatton the fight. I kind of remember Hatton landing the fight, and also, in case you're illiterate, you'll notice that my first post in this thread was saying I'm ONLY pissed at Floyd, and Cotto will simply regret not calling him out. You'll also notice from previous posts that I think Cotto is the only one with a shot to beat Floyd. So do the board a favor and remove Miguel's penis from your sphincter. I'm through with you cyber tough guy:)
LOL
Floyd fights for what almost all boxers fight, the money.
Margarito called out Floyd, Hatton called out Floyd. Floyd responded to Hatton calling him out differently cause it was a bigger fight. Floyd dictates who Floyd fights, he doesn't let other people dictate what he does, he doesn't respond to everyone who calls him out.

Listen, I understand that you 12-year olds have grown up with the mentality that boxers should be calling each other out, like WWF wrestlers do. But in the history of boxing, many ATG fighters have gotten where they are without resorting to calling fighters out, or trash-talking, or threatening to eat each other's children.
Exactly! Why should Cotto have to bad mouth Floyd, and in effect, suck up to him? Cotto is his own man. Floyd knows where he is. And to fight Cotto, you don't need to do anything other than contact Top Rank. THAT'S a REAL fighter.

When? When did Margarito diss him? Look, I understand what your saying, Floyd dictates who he fights and wants money, but if you have your promoter out their talking for you (Margarito/Arum), that's hardly disrespectful. Hatton dissed him in front of the world, and Ricky did not lose a single fan when he did it. If all it takes to land a fight with the guy is to do that, why would you possibly not even try it just once?
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
Match you should do some research. Maybe watch the video of Margarito confronting Floyd at a conference and Floyd crapping his pants. Maybe Margarito openly calling Floyd a "Maricon" in interviews. Hey,if that's not calling out, I don't know what is.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
And I think you'll find Hatton being a small WW with 1 contraversial win at WW and easy $$$ was also a reason Floyd wanted to fight him. Hatton at 140,is the man.147,he's a kid,a contender.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
Margarito and Arum both called out Floyd a lot. I don't remember every specific line cause it was a couple years ago but I remember clearly him saying (I think to Roger Mayweather but it was about Floyd) that he'd do to Floyd what Chavez did to Roger Mayweather. There were others but that I remember specifically.
Floyd feeling disrespected is nowhere near the top of the list, it is a business to Floyd, plain and simple. Floyd jumped out on Hatton's calling him out because he thought the fight was a good idea business wise, if he hadn't he would have just ignored it and the fight would have most likely ended up being made anyway.
Its a business pure and simple. If you wanted to you could make the case that Cotto calling him out might help slightly in making a fight (its debatable) but it would not be the reason why Floyd went ahead with the fight.

Hey then that's my bad, I didn't know that and Floyd is a p@ssy for not fighting him then. But Cotto is more like Hatton than Margarito in that there is an overwealming number of people who want to see that fight made and each have huge fan bases.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
I'm still waiting on the headlines. "Floyd Found Dead: Inside sources say he was attempting self-fellatio when the accident occured..."
:-X
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
If it's true and permanent then it's a sad day for boxing, but not disastrous. Many theories abounds about this and I tend to believe the one where the thinking is that they let Oscar fight the winner of Marg-Cott, hoping Hoya has enough left to get the decision therefore legitimising a genuinely lucrative rematch. Of course if that is true, it could spectacularly backfire if Cotto beats Marg, and then de la Hoya more convincing than Floyd did, since Cotto says he doesn't give a shit about Floyd it would give Miguel the upper hand in any future negotiations.
Either way, Floyd's incredible talent will go down in history.

Hahah;D Good point. I believe it when he starts walking around at 200lbs with a cigar in his mouth all day
Im betting Floyd is going to be walking around at about 150 for the next few years ;) This is just some ploy.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
I voted GOOD. Don't get me wrong, I always hate to hear when a pro boxer retires like this, even if he's not all that old. But he said himself that it got to where it was mainly for the money (although that's not altogether a bad reason) and being a celebrity, and that he just lost his passion for boxing. If a fighter loses his passion for the sport, it's all over. If you have no passion, you probably won't train as hard and will end up getting dominated.
So I'm glad for him and I hope he enjoys his retirement. :)
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
I voted good because he should retire he is a 6 time world champ a 5 weight world champ he has had 20 odd world title fights against top fighters. He has nothing left to prove not even against Cotto because if he fought and beat Cotto then their would be someone else to fight and so on and so on.Also Oscar can't make anymore money off his back Floyd has had a great career and to retire a 6 time world champ at 5 different weights number 1 Welterweight in the world and number 1 P4P fighter in the world is a great thing for any fighter to do he will definately go down in top 15 fighters of all time surely. GOOD LUCK Floyd with the rest of your life.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
i voted "I don't care." You can't believe anything Floyd says. It would just be more bullshit. He is just sad that Cotto-Margarito is in the press so much so being a narcissistic psycho I suspect he is, he announced his retrirement.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
It's bullshit posturing, but come on it's getting old. If he really does stay retired then good on him for leaving when he wants not when the public thinks its ok. I really think this may be his 2 year layoff to let the dangerous foghters take each other out.
Re: Floyd Retires (Again)
I voted "I don't Care". It's hard to believe anything PBF says and given his past efforts this can't be taken seriously. But whether he's serious or not i'm just sick of all his crap and carrying on. I wish he'd just shut up and fight or start taking his ADHD medication.
