Re: ** The Greatest 1 round fight in boxing history **
Cant believe I found this old clip of SRL vs Danny Gonzalez ... this guy had done fifty odd fights and never been ko'd before this... although slightly off topic this is a great clip of a young SRL...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MYp5rdDMhKsAlso just remembered this Beauty from The Hitman Tommy Hearns too against the undefeated James Black Gold Shuler..

That Monoco blast was UGLY and brutal.Didn't Buster fuss about it being after the bell??
How about Lionel Butler KO 1 Tony Tubbs?Think that was a 1st round, nasty hook.
Yes. Buster won because the blow was "after" the bell. But Butler's was at the bell and he got the ko win. Tubbs went to "Fat Man Dreamland" on that shot.
Say what you will about the Bean, but if he connected, it was lights out. Monoco gets iced on a regular basis, but he once iced McBride who stopped Tyson. Only in boxing!!

Re: ** The Greatest 1 round fight in boxing history **
Instead of best one round fights, how about best one punch fights?
My favourite has got to be Eubank Santos, possibly a two punch fight but just love the pose after!

It was a confirmation display for me that they should keep McGuigan away from this guy .. his physique was so solid and compact, economical with his punches as well as acurate and just seemed to punch holes through folks.. and as ya point out too Cowdel was no mug at all not by any standards..

Remember Jim McDonnell ? what a brave performance he put in against Azumah Nelson.

You need to get your eye's check. It was a right that laid him out
No WAY! The head came forward bouncing his head back and the right hand after. It's all clear in slow mo. the right hand was a good punch, but the snap from his head on the headbutt is unbelievable.

I would have said this one, but it looks suspiciously like a laydown:

Brewster's post fight comments were very telling. He said something to the effect of wanting to have something left of himself for when he's with his kids. When his style of fighting is successful he sacrifices himself completely to get to the other guy. And if he can't commit to that then he might as well be home with his children.

Hey Spicoli, totally off topic here but you ever seen a TV show called The Riches? That's based in your neck of the woods, just finished watching all of it.
Great show, shame it's been cancelled. :(

Wild 1 round fight points being taking away, knockdowns. Early stoppage all fit into one of the most wildest rounds i've ever seen.
