British fighters never quit on their stools like gutless Americans Danny.
Stopped by cuts, knocked out by the ring post, battered in a bloody pulp and sparked with a single punch yes, but quit on our stools never
You're right..Say like a Zab Judah.I think if he just had the heart of a Mexican or a Filipino he may have been one of the greats of this generation.and Brit's and Irish fighters too.Micky Ward,,wayne Maccullough..what's up with these races being real warriors than these 'talented' but gutless americans. In the case of the Mexicans and Filipinos I knew poverty is a factor.More so in the phillipines.I haven't seen a Flip who quitted on a bout. They keep fighting as long as they can.I remember this undercard fight on the Hatton-Malignaggi card this kid Boom-Boom was down and was bleeding furiously but he kept fighting until the final bell. And whenever I watch a Vasquez-Marquez fight it still amazes me how courageous this warriors are.In the case of Brits and these Irish boxers I'm still wondering what drives them aside from pride. Is it something genetic or cultural. If it is then fucck the American culture.
Mexicans are all infleunced by the macho culturesurrounding boxing.
Brits are infleunced by the massive pride they have in their counry.
Filipinos are motivated by the poverty they struggle to escape from.
And the Irish are motivated by the prospect of more drinking money.

I would lean towards PACMAN but i really think its a no lose situation for Ricky.
1. he will get alot of money.
2. he has a chance of winning.
3. if he loses he loses to the very best.
Lets get it on !!!
Agreed.
I favor Pacman, but Hatton looked better in his fight against Paulie. And Hatton wouldn't go out on his stool - no way. If Hatton is going out, it is on his back.

How many of those straight lefts could Ricky take?
Ricky would have a lot more offense than Oscar did and would be the bigger and stronger of the two on the night most probably. I'd love this fight to be made, it would be unreal at Wembley too. Would be a good last fight for Hatton.
You'd have the biggest ticket seller versus the biggest name in boxing which translates to a record breaking box office and interest from Europe to Asia.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but it could be one of the biggest fights of the last fifty years.
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
I agree that hatton could not beat pacman, but i think that pacman is no mayweather. People saying that mayweather will come out of retirement to be beaten by pacman have nothing to base their arguments on. I also think that Joe Calzaghe is the number one p4p at the moment and i know a lot of people will say hes not but joe has beat everyone he could beat at super middle weight and light heavy. Who eles is there really left for him to fight?
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
Hatton for me
as ive said time and time again too big and strong for pacquiao at 140 and unlike de la hoya would be able to cope with mannys pressurised style and use it to his advantage.
Has manny ever taken the sort of body punishment hatton would deliver
Has he ever been in with someone with hattons work rate and power combined!!!
Does he have the ability to win a fight of this magnitude on the backfoot (as he often failed to do against JMM)

The integrity of boxing fans eh
I think there's truth to that... but the guy has the ability to shock and amaze.
I thought Oscar would bully him. But he bullied the bigger man into pure fear.
Ricky will come forward, and pac will shoot that straight left right up the gut then move laterally before Ricky even has the chance to open his eyes.
But I hope I'm wrong. I like Ricky a lot. One of my favorite fighters. But pac is simply superb. And frighteningly, he looks even better as he moves up in weight. IMO.

Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
This fight was actually being talked about shortly after PAcman beat Diaz. I always thought it was an easy fight for Pacman. Hatton had been looking worse and worse in every fight, he didn't impress me against Lazcano, refuses to lead with his jab, looks to wrestle too much and never moves his head or defend.
I saw this fight as being very one sided for Manny who is a southpaw, won't stand still for hatton to wrestle with, will move in and out and throw lightning fast flurries upstairs - a area hatton doesn't seem to commit himself to defending.
It was an easy pick then, but hatton imo will prove alot of people wrong under Floyd Sr's tutelage. If he can prove he isn't the same hatton who was noticeably on his decline, then it will be a great fight.

And you dont think the beatdown of malignaggi was an indication of that??
Ok so hattons chin was never going to be really tested against paulie, but his ability to hurt a moving target and being able to stay on his man for 3minutes a round was there for all to see.
Hatton/Pac may just be that bit crazier than Oscar/pac because outside of the ring when they arent fighting pacquiao probably weighs no more than 130 odd while hatton balloons up to 180+
Re: Manny will tear Hatton to shreads
I personally think its a pickem fight.
