Look up an old Ring magazine. The one previewing Marquez-Pacquiao 2. Pac considers the first fight more of an embarrassment than anything else. And rightly so. Just look at it from his eyes. You floor a fighter not once. Not twice. But three times in one round. You can't finish him. He gets himself back into the fight. To make it worse he takes control of the fight and at times dominates. He seems to solve your style. The big punches your were landing so easily are not there no more. What looked like an easy night turns into a life and death struggle. You go into the 12th round not cruising to a win but fighting your heart out not to lose the fight. Instead of an easy win. You get a draw.
Many( I guess it should be some, okay VD I corrected it) feel you should of got the loss. Your shell shocked. Your excuse? You wore the wrong socks. Pac should be embarrass. I give him credit for admitting it.
You can consider the first fight a win for Pac when Pac himself doesn't consider it a win. FACT
And this post is from VD.

Re: I just watched Pacquiao-Marquez 2
I decided to watch the fight again and give an updated scorecard. I planned on doing this a couple of days ago but something came up. In case anyone is interested, here it is:
ROUND 1: The commentators were very pro Marquez for round 1 but I really thought it was a Pacquiao round. Marquez definitely landed the best shot of the round but Manny landed more punches that I had to give him the round. Compubox said Pacquiao landed twice as many shots as Marquez did going with what I believe happened in the first round.
Round to Pacquiao
1-0 Pacquiao
Pacquiao-10, Marquez-9
ROUND 2: Great round for Marquez. Marquez displayed his counter punching ability, lead off with a great left hook, and punctuated the round with another hook that wobbled Manny. Compubox had Marquez doubling Manny’s punches landed this round.
Round to Marquez
1-1 Tie
Pacquiao 19, Marquez 19
ROUND 3: Marquez, again, controlling the fight with his counter punching. Pacquiao rallies late and catches Marquez with a short left hand that drops him. Pacquiao finished the round with a short right hook that wobble Marquez again.
Round to Pacquiao
2-1 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 29, Marquez 27
ROUND 4: Pacquiao rode the momentum from the previous round and took advantage of Marquez trying to recover. Marquez had a couple shots in there but Pacquiao landed the harder, cleaner, more frequent blows.
Round to Pacquiao
3-1 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 39, Marquez 36
ROUND 5: Marquez and Pacquiao both landed on each other but Marquez’ blows were much more solid than Manny’s.
Round to Marquez
3-2 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 48, Marquez 46
ROUND 6: Marquez controlled that round and landed some good punches along the way.
Round to Marquez
3-3 Tie
Pacquiao 57, Marquez 56
Re: I just watched Pacquiao-Marquez 2
ROUND 7: Close round. Marquez started out well, Pacquiao landed as the round progressed. I believe Pacquiao’s shots were more solid and got the better of the exchanges. A lot of Marquez’ flurries were blocked.
Round to Pacquiao
4-3 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 67, Marquez 65
ROUND 8: Great round for Marquez. I think that was the most dominant round any fighter has had against Manny. Marquez landed BIG shots and had Manny hurt to the body.
Round to Marquez
4-4 Tie
Pacquiao 76, Marquez 75
ROUND 9: Closest round of the fight. Both fighters landed their punches and I had the round even. But if I had to give it to someone I think Pacquiao’s biggest punch was way bigger than any of the punches Marquez landed in the round.
Round to Pacquiao
5-4 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 86, Marquez 84
ROUND 10: Manny wobbles Marquez with his first punch of the round. Pacquiao’s early onslaught and continued ability to land his left hand won him the round.
Round to Pacquiao
6-4 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 96, Marquez 93
ROUND 11: Manny blocked a lot of Marquez’ shots but I also believe Manny didn’t land enough punches to convincingly win the round. Marquez’ right hand was the most apparent punch in the round.
Round to Marquez
6-5 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 105, Marquez 103
ROUND 12: Marquez landed the more significant blows in the round. I actually don’t see how anyone could give the 12th to Manny. Lederman and I had a very similar scorecard. I think we differed opinions on the 12th.
Round to Marquez
6-6 Tie
Pacquiao 114, Marquez 113
FINAL SCORE: 114-113 in favor of Pacquiao. This fight had so many close rounds (1, 7, 9 could’ve gone either way), making it a big deal on everyone’s scorecards.

I gave the 11th to Pac and the 12th even.
Good analysis. But honestly,,I myself don't know why I suddenly can't give Marquez the 12th. The 1st time I scored the fight it was a no brainer to me. Yeah he was the aggressor. He probably threw more punches on that round on all of the 24 rounds against Pac.but considering that 'nothing significant and damaging' really connected compared to the manner he was landing those left hooks and right straights earlier. While Pac was landing jabs and short lefts more than ever and is surprisingly blocking almost all of Marquez's blows.
There is this feeling. AHHH it was the final round and Marquez was throwing it all out..against Pacquiao! you expect an all out war. and props to Marquez for doing so.But here's Pac suddenly boxing great...against Marquez! he made JMM looked desperate. there is that feeling now. amazed. props to Pac. If I can generously give Marquez a round for containing a barbaric assault from Pacquiao..Maybe we can do things the other way around. you feelin me? But heck I still scored the round even. But that doesn't mean I think Lederman's card was erroneous. In fact I don't wanna watch the fight for another time..coz I also have this feeling that if I would do a few more scrutiny on the 12th...I could very well agree with him!
Re: I just watched Pacquiao-Marquez 2
Pacman won it because of his Aggression.
