ROUND 7: Close round. Marquez started out well, Pacquiao landed as the round progressed. I believe Pacquiao’s shots were more solid and got the better of the exchanges. A lot of Marquez’ flurries were blocked.
Round to Pacquiao
4-3 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 67, Marquez 65
ROUND 8: Great round for Marquez. I think that was the most dominant round any fighter has had against Manny. Marquez landed BIG shots and had Manny hurt to the body.
Round to Marquez
4-4 Tie
Pacquiao 76, Marquez 75
ROUND 9: Closest round of the fight. Both fighters landed their punches and I had the round even. But if I had to give it to someone I think Pacquiao’s biggest punch was way bigger than any of the punches Marquez landed in the round.
Round to Pacquiao
5-4 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 86, Marquez 84
ROUND 10: Manny wobbles Marquez with his first punch of the round. Pacquiao’s early onslaught and continued ability to land his left hand won him the round.
Round to Pacquiao
6-4 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 96, Marquez 93
ROUND 11: Manny blocked a lot of Marquez’ shots but I also believe Manny didn’t land enough punches to convincingly win the round. Marquez’ right hand was the most apparent punch in the round.
Round to Marquez
6-5 Pacquiao
Pacquiao 105, Marquez 103
ROUND 12: Marquez landed the more significant blows in the round. I actually don’t see how anyone could give the 12th to Manny. Lederman and I had a very similar scorecard. I think we differed opinions on the 12th.
Round to Marquez
6-6 Tie
Pacquiao 114, Marquez 113
FINAL SCORE: 114-113 in favor of Pacquiao. This fight had so many close rounds (1, 7, 9 could’ve gone either way), making it a big deal on everyone’s scorecards.
