Re: Challenge to all.........
Winning titles in different weight classes needs to be put into perspective.
If you're 5'8 and naturally 150lb you have far more divisions to challenge than a man 6'0, 185lb... or 5'2, 130lb... or 6'3, 220lb
Re: Challenge to all.........
Well to tell you the truth alot this bad timing or maybe some would saying good timing because undfeated but Roy and Hopkins had no interest in fight Calzaghe back then and its not like they were fighting best either just hard to come to terms to get the fights not all Joe fault but at the same time he never got the wins that he need at the right time so thats the way it goes not everyone can have the competion Ray Leonard who beat greatest names in boxing because he was fighting in one of the greatest era in boxing some times it is all about what time you fought in.
Re: Challenge to all.........
haha sorry this thread is stupid, jeah lets make people stop discrediting joe by discrediting another fighter in pbf, that's just stupid. PBF is a great no doubt, and joe in my mind is a great too, extremely talented, and some people may slight him for not fighting in the us earlier but everybody's got their opinion.

RJJ is a similiar size to Joe and didnt seem to have a problem winning titles in a number of weith classes.
He won 4 and skipped Cruiser, which i have no doubt he could have won a title in also....

I do still agree that it is slightly easier if u are a smaller guy. But only special fighters win titles in 4 or 5 divisions no matter their size.

Without doubt.
I would rate Floyd as a special fighter too... although not quite as special as Roy.

Imagine Floyds defense and chin combined with Roys raw athleticism and offense. Dam!

Compare that with Floyds 1/2 dozen or so
Write em down then see how many were undefeated, then see how many losses the others had between them;)

Hatton
Corrales
Kessler

which is the more impressive pair of undefeated fighters?
Also you can say what you like about defeats, but this obsession with not losing does not mean someone is a better fighter.
Who is a greater light-welterweight, Terry Marsh or Ricky Hatton?
Sven Ottke or Roy Jones Jr?
Ji Won Kim or Israel Vasquez?
Joe Calzaghe is a legend & a great boxer, but there is just no way his resume is better than Mayweather's.

Tell me where you guys guys have found a better package of Speed, Heart, Ring Smarts, Adjustments, Chin, Conditioning, Skill, Dedication and his fights are clean. No need to cheat when you're this good i guess. (Hopkins)
Ray Leonard, Floyd Mayweather, Ali. Joe Calzaghe was/is great, but there were better overall fighters, he didn't have great defensive, he was never a huge puncher nor a guy who punched porperly or else he would have been a huge puncher. His adjustments IMO are overrated, he makes good ones, but not amazing adjustments, its more his stamina. I never seen him do a complete 180 in the ring and totally change what he was doing.

Mayweather did a good job of fighting people coming off losses and avoiding Tszyu, hes not even relevant anymore, who is he, everyones talking about Joe because hes a better fighter, no one gave a shiit when Floyd retired, there wasnt this much debate when Floyd quit because we all agreed "big deal!";D
Are you kidding me ? there wasn't much debate when Floyd Mayweather Jr retired ? there was threads upon threads of it and there still is. Kostya Tszyu would of got his shot had he beat Ricky Hatton, Ricky Hatton beat Kostya Tszyu and he got his shot against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
And Floyd Mayweather Jr beat the man who beat Kostya Tszyu, if Joe Calzaghe is the better fighter then why wasn't he rated P4P number 1 ? and why is Floyd Mayweather considered much higher in the all time rankings ? And if your honestly trying to tell me Joe Calzaghe is a more skilled fighter than Floyd Mayweather, then you need medical attention.
Floyd Mayweather Jr
Ricky Hatton
ODLH
Genaro Hernandez
Jose Luis Castillo x2
Diego Corrales
Zab Judah
Arturo Gatti
Emanuel Augustus
Angel Manfredy
Carlos Hernandez
Jesus Chavez
Phillip N'dou
Victoriano Sosa
World titles Super Featherweight, Lightweight, Jr Welterweight, Welterweight, Jr Middleweight
Joe Calzaghe
Robin Reid
Mikkel Kessler
Roy Jones Jr
Bernard Hopkins
Charles Brewer
Chris Eubank
Byron Mitchell
Jeff Lacy
Sakio Bika
Charles Brewer
Omar Sheika
Richie Woodhall
Mario Veit x2
World titles Super Middleweight, Light Heavyweight.
I will say that Joe is better than floyd. Can you imagine them fighting in the same weight? floyd would be trying to counter all night and would be overwhelmed by the speed skill and workrate of Joe.
floyd struggled with another fast southpaw in Judah that isn't 1/10 the fighter, ring general or has half the ring IQ of Joe and Zab would have won if he wouldn't have faded so fast.
BTW, the reason he was never rated above floyd is because of his lack of american exposure. floyd got on the big stage and did nothing with it but avoid every dangerous opponent.
YOU ARE A FUCKING MORON.:fyou:
Re: Challenge to all.........
Got to just go go with Al here
Mayweathers list is a who's who in boxing, most of Joes is "Who?"
