Karma then that it was Manny Pacquiao who was the victim of a brutal K.O? Somebody who has done nothing (apart from deny) to prove to us that he is clean. At least Marquez said he'd take any test, any time.
Although, I think people are naive to think it's normal to have somebody so involved with PED's in your corner. Even if he is good at what he does as a strength coach, why bring the attention to yourself by hiring him? Marquez' body has changed so drastically too..remember that he was a pudgy lightweight only a couple years ago. It's impossible for the body to put on 12+lbs of lean muscle in a year or two without assistance. Marquez is now a ripped welterweight.
The same questions asked of Pac can now be asked of Marquez if we're all honest. Only difference is that Marquez was willing to take the test which speaks volumes.
Personally I don't care what the answer is - Marquez's victory was very final and this argument can't blemish it..not when the opponent is Manny Pacquiao.
Manny ran into a massive punch. It was like Williams getting sparked by Martinez, that kind of perfect punch except Manny basically leapt head first into it. Manny didn't see the punch coming for the first knockdown either but I have to say JMM has added a lot of muscle and power to his frame at quite an advanced age. It must all be down to extremely hard work in the gym.
I think all these guys are suspicious though. Manny has a well-documented fear of needles and JMM says he'll take any test -- a week before the fight. Neither of them wanted to know about random testing when the fight was being made.
EDIT : Victor Conte says that the amount of weight Marquez was squatting on 24/7 would take three or so days to recover from and only steroids speed the healing process so that a fighter could continue to train the next day. That sound right to you?
How much was he squatting out of interest?
Two plates (235lbs) and he only did one rep,not really a massive amount of weight. But I guess for a his size its alot
When I used to weight train I could squat that AND I could walk afterwards training 5/6 times a week ;D
And it didn't tell you what phase of training he was in when doing that.

I agree. I basically said the same thing on the previous page. It doesn't rule out the possibility that both of them could be taking PEDs though. Since all these guys are clean boxers and everything they've done in their late careers is down to hard work in the gym it'd be nice if they all followed the lead of Ninito Donaire and agreed to year-round random testing. Then nobody could make any accusations against them.
True but Marquez did offer to do whatever tests they wanted and of course that would have obligated Manny to do the same. At worst they were both juicing which would make it an even playing field;D
He did offer to take any test anybody wanted him to take. A week before the fight. If I was Manny or Marquez or any other elite boxer and there were any questions being asked about me or who I was employing to train me I'd volunteer for year-round random testing like Donaire has. It'd be nice to see other elite boxers do the same thing.
Until the governing bodies and commissions institute some kind of 21st century testing then I suppose everyone can be held as suspect. I mean I agree that boxing needs a testing upgrade.

LOL I love how JMM had months to prepare for this fight and everyone questions his muscle gain? Its simple, eating a little more and weight training. Being somebody who has built themself naturally from 80kg to 95kg at 12 percent bodyfat I kinda know what I am talking about ;) JMM really didnt look that big, he looked a little more muscular but that could be beginner gains from starting weight training. PEDS are not the only things that put muscle on you, hard work and food do it too ;)

Re: Questions About Marquez Strength Trainer and PEDS Legit
I was looking to improve explosive power...like Marquez ;)
Re: Questions About Marquez Strength Trainer and PEDS Legit
Gotta love how the Pactards throw accusations at JMM after unequivocally embarrassing Pacquiao - when the Filipino himself is a long-time suspected PED user. Give Marquez the credit he deserves for finally being able to take the corrupt judges out of the equation in his (rightful) 4th win against the Pacquiao hype-machine... and at nearly 40 years old (Pac's only 33).
Re: Questions About Marquez Strength Trainer and PEDS Legit
I've been seeing nothing but stupidity posted here and everywhere. I guess that should really surprise me being that the world is filled with 99% idiots who think every punch and every knock down in the same. You cannuckle heads need to analyze. Manny has made a name for himself by providing the most explosive KO's over the last decade outside of the Heavyweight division. Yet last night's KO was even beyond him. If he won by that vicious of a KO and walked though punches like that, every last one of you would be flaming him right now. Suddenly you're all Marquez fans. I was a fan of his when none of you were even talking about him. We've all seen so called perfect punches and clean shots, and we've seen our fair share between these 2. The counter right is JMM's bread and butter with Manny. He' landed it on him before. It would be one thing for manny to have lost balance, but he was KO's in a way that only a heavyweight fighter would have been. Those KO's almost never happen no matter how clean the punch in lower weight classes. If it was feasible, it would have come close to happening before. Marquez didn't even turn into the punch. Stop being blind idiots and for once analyze what just happened in front of you.

Re: Questions About Marquez Strength Trainer and PEDS Legit
There is no way either of these two are clean, to me anyway.
Yes Marquez looked more muscular than before but hes always been an awesome boxer, all hes done is gone in there on level terms.
Looking at those over hand rights that dropped Manny though. Imagine the carnage that a young Mayorga would have caused!;D
Re: Questions About Marquez Strength Trainer and PEDS Legit
Mother fuckers loosing their mind after seeing a profesional athlete do a not particularly deep, modest 100kg squat for ONE rep?
...shaking my head.
No wonder the squat rack in most gyms sees more guys bicep curling than squatting.
Also, could any of the pactards crying about PEDs remind me what both fighters weighed?

I was surprised as anyone over the ferocity of JMM's KO punch of Manny. But I've watched the video over and over again. Your assertion that Marquez didn't turn into the punch is wrong. As with his 1st knockdown of Manny, Marquez threw his whole body into the punch. The knockout was a "perfect storm" of Marquez throwing a powerful right hand, Manny coming in aggresively with his hands down, and the punch connecting cleanly on Manny's jaw. Not only that... the punch landed at its most dangerous point of the arc, where it was still a short punch. It's small wonder Pac was out.
I'm a fan of both fighters and no need to dis one or the other. Pac gave a spirited effort, which is more than I can say about the Bradley fight. Marquez just caught him with the perfect punch. PEDS or no PEDS, that punch was going to knock Pac out.
Re: Questions About Marquez Strength Trainer and PEDS Legit
In all honesty the first thing I thought when I saw JMM was "is he juiced?".... 39 year old man adding that kind of new natural muscle? I wanted JMM to win because of the fights he should have won against PAC. It's only natural to wonder especially when his new trainer was associated with BALCO.

They say you're not trying if you're not cheating... Considering how much money is involved it wouldnt surprise me if they all are. Also when I think about how high of a pedestal people hold them why not let them just take horse steroids and appear to be the superheroes that most of the general public see them as.
