Still have not seen it! But when you cut it at 9 you are totally at refs discretion. It's a fluid thing a count, need to stabilize. Don't know if it was a struggle type rise or he was clear and following count ? but its the refs call. Save the yourself the trouble and try hard to stay off the canvas in first place?!

Well, just caught it on another site.
He wasn't up even at 9. He started, initiated at 9 still in a down posture.. not erect stable on feet. It's 100 percent on him. Ref did his job.

I just cant agree. He may have taken a little long but that's his right and he was well up on the nine count and the ref was not on his way to ten. The ref was waving it off at the very point in time when he would have been saying 10 had Scott not been standing upright.

when the ref waved which could have been 9 and a half and not 10 he still wasnt totally up
i think he bottled it
if hed have been half way up at 9 and a half and telling the ref he wanted to go on and looking enthusiastic id have said it was very harsh
Re: BOXNATION - CHISORA v SCOTT-O'SULLIVAN v SAUNDERS -Saturday Night Fight CHAT THRE
And just like that my thoughts of Malik Scott and how good he actually is have been verified

I'm not going to split hairs here. The man was up and upright with no wobbling at all at 9. Could have been 9.2 or 8.9
Many of these same refs will actually do a full ten count when a guy is planked and out cold. Why is that? Reffing needs an over haul as much as anything. Scott got stiffed and whether he would have won or Chisora was coming on is not relevant really. You could even tell by the refs face that he blew it.

as you can see when the ref waved he was only half way up
the ref possibly did wave a fraction of a second before 10

Granted I'm watching on mobile ;D but have seen it at least 10 times. It looked like he was drapping the ropes (were they loose as Hell or what) and got clubbed off top-ear and crumpled. He had a half awake-dazzed look the entire time. He looked aloof. He was still in crouch and not up at 9, if ref 'reaches' 10...that pace count...the wave off equals reaching 10 at pace. Whatever it was, its on the fighter in that case. I don't think he was taking time, he looked buzzed. Now we've seen refs in others "speed" up a count near end. I didn't see that there.
Re: BOXNATION - CHISORA v SCOTT-O'SULLIVAN v SAUNDERS -Saturday Night Fight CHAT THRE
Hmm. On a flat screen..thanks Eric, thats a toughie. Ref even had a subtle small pause between 7 and 8 it looked. Its the refs discretion though. He never technically said 10 but I didn't see Scott up fully until that point regardless.
Re: BOXNATION - CHISORA v SCOTT-O'SULLIVAN v SAUNDERS -Saturday Night Fight CHAT THRE
Just look at the clock on the youtube..he hits the deck 11 seconds into the video, and doesn't start to get up until 22 seconds into the video. He can't leave that kind of thing to chance unless he isn't that keen to continue.
Re: BOXNATION - CHISORA v SCOTT-O'SULLIVAN v SAUNDERS -Saturday Night Fight CHAT THRE
Oh fuck it was an ear shot, never realised that first time. That explains everything. No wonder Scott was confused that he needed to stand up, it's incredible he wasn't totally doolally

no he wasnt, he was up at 10 (and even thats debateable)
the question in all this isnt whether or not he was up, the question is should the ref have let it continue
he wasnt up at 10 so perhaps the answer is no as those are the rules, but i dont think anyone would have argued if he had have let it go

Let's put this in perpective here
If Scott wasn't up then Balboa wasn't up in 79 at the Philadelphia Spectrum. Had he not made that then many of our lives would not have been defined.
Rematch for Scott
