Doubt he'd let this affect him in any big way, but he's obviously pissed and Groves isn't an easy opponent for him anyways.
It's all on Groves to show what level he is really at and what kind of chin he has for one thing, but he has the right kind of style to beat Froch imo. He'll have to be smart and have done a lot of work, but he does have some tools Froch won't like. If Froch can cut off the ring and get to him it might be curtains early like the Bute fight though, I have no idea.
Now point out the tools froch has that groves won't like?
do you want him to point to the tools that froch has that groves wont like?

Youv got a good point.
I can see Groves giving Froch problems but on past performances against the likes of Anderson and Smith how does Groves stop Froch?
The only way I can see is to do what he did against DeGale. Fight like hes in against Mike Tyson and back peddle and skirt tye ring, much like Haye did against Valuev.
As long as Froch forces the action and starts quick again I have a hard time seeing Groves win. I could still see Groves giving Carl problems until the 7th or so and then downhill from there.
smith? it was a nice punch but he wasnt trouble by it, groves win over smith was impressive
i still back groves, first time ive backed against froch
He was troubled by it, the only reason he didnt get in any more trouble is because its Smith! A fighter who should be a middleweight and who struggles with british level fighters.
Had that been Froch it would have been similar to the Bute ending!
If and when Groves gets hurt Carl can keep pouring it on and its doubtfull Groves has the wherewithal to hurt or stop the oncoming rampage from one of the fittest and toughest fighters in the world.
Groves was even in a little bit of trouble at the end of the first round against Johnson, who he had been throwing everything at!;D
i dont agree, i dont think he was, he stepped back, but there was no sign he was shaken
groves win over johnson was much more impressive than froches, i accept that johnson had a lot more ambition against froch
Re: Froch - Groves to meet on Sky Ringside special
You people will buy into anything, won't you?! ;)
Re: Froch - Groves to meet on Sky Ringside special
Not quite as bad as the Haye-Audley build up... But still!

Strength, resliance, ambition, stamina and experience.
Also, the nagging doubt in the back of his mind pr rather the knowledge that Froch can catch him and is very capable of hurting him. Add those atteibutes above to someone who is capable of hurting you and no matter what Groves says and how fucking stupid he makes Froch look in interviews, make no mistake that George knows hes in deep here.
Even against Ward, he wouldnt have that fear of getting hurt. Faced with power he might just curl up in to his shell, run, freeze anything. Just look at what happened to Cleverly who showed no real fear leading up to Kovalev. I was very surprised at how easy Cleverly made it for Kovalev and that is down to fear of facing someone who is genuinely capable of taking your head off.
Re: Froch - Groves to meet on Sky Ringside special
Groves is a young guy, he could have easily waited around for a winnable title shot to come up. Instead he asked for and got the Froch fight. Considering he's sparred him and admits to being decked, if he goes in and bottles it that would be very surprising. Why seek the fight in the first place? It's not like he's getting a fortune for it.

Froch fought him coming off stopping Green and Mack and getting robbed against Cloud and pushing Dawson.
Groves fougt him after Forch beat him, then Bute beat him then some fringe contender. He was on a run of 3 straight losses and looked absolutely useless against Bute.

Re: Froch - Groves to meet on Sky Ringside special
I think the fact most think Froch wins easy , it shows real bottle by groves for taking this fight.
I am not bothered who wins , just hope its a good scrap.

How can a win over someone on a run of 3 consecutive losses be considered more impressive than a win over him when he was coming off one of his best recent performances and run of performances.
My obvious point being, in no way at all was Groves win over Johnson any more impressive than Frochs.

Someone who had officially anounced his retirement after 3 consecutive losses and his last before being tempted out of retirement being a loss to a journeyman;D Wow! Very impressive, in fact so much so he's now the overwhelming favourite against Froch.....
Re: Froch - Groves to meet on Sky Ringside special
This could turn out to being a very interesting fight. Groves has the ability to use his legs and move away from Froch's vaunted power, but so did Bute, and we saw how that went. Remember that Groves allegedly gave Andre Dirrell the business in sparring and beat DeGale. I doubt Groves will be intimidated. I also doubt Froch will be intimidated, which is why it's somewhat intriguing.
