I popped in The Crow to watch on Halloween night. Love that movie, and hadn't watched it in a few years. Such a shame that Brandon Lee died tragically at a young age like his dad.

Hello:
3 recent movies I've watched and was entertained/liked:
Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter
Dark Shadows
Snow White and the Huntsman
~sg
lol it's sooo bad.
I watched it the other night tho and loved it. I mean, I'm not sure what people expect with a movie combining a historically true character, vampires, and state of the art CGI. Well I'll tell you what you should expect. With the ability to suspend belief, total awesomeness.
1990 remake of Night of the Living Dead lastnight..red haired female lead and all. Again. I dread many remakes of classics but THIS one was exceptional. If you are into the whole zombie end o' the world etc etc. Good flick and one take from original worth it.
Caught 'Communion' again with Chiristopher Walken! This one will really mess with your head.
You want to LOL at me? There was a really, really bad movie which I mistook for ALVH called Abraham Lincoln vs Zombies. I'm watching ALVZ with my son and I fell asleep (not from movie though)... I was thinking this is pretty bad... At some point, I was hoping it would turn out decent and be a 'it's so bad it's good' type movie, but
There were some ok scenes, my fave were the beheading of the zombies.
Made 2 gif's from that movie. Not sure if ok to post as I tagged them with a site url.
Since I made the gif's for another forum, I tagged them with that forum - I would understand if mods take them down for the rule of no url posting. My apologies in advance.
There were a few more scenes of Lincoln beheading zombies as well as fighting them. Only made these 2 as quickies

If you have time to kill and nothing else to do, and it was the only movie you had, then go ahead and watch it for a few laughs. went straight to video iirc.
I was reading in the newspaper that Daniel Day-Lewis was starring in a film about Abraham Lincoln, and naturally I wondered if it was the vampire hunter one. Imagine my disappointment that the role he chose to get his teeth into was a serious acting job.
Taken 2, it was okay nothing compared to the first though. In the final big fight scene it just seemed like he was fighting and overweight kebab shop owner especially in his shell suit! ;D
I watched Once Upon a time in America. It was a very good film, but warped to its core. Universal moral standards are a truism and so blatant murder, rape etc are a bit hard to take. Those kinds of behavioral patterns are not the norm and so relating to a lot of the film was hard, but in terms of direction, script etc, it was a very good film.
I like the fact that we get to see the arse of a young girl and obviously below age. A film like this would have a hard time getting made today. Not that I advocate being a peado, but it shows that we have become absurd with our morality. We can look and not get too upset. Today we simply can't.
I don't mean I liked it like that. I just liked how the film flouted all the things that make us all uptight today. Rape and adolescent nudity isn't something you see in most films.
Watched Beast Stalker which was a Hong King action film which was OK and clever the way 3 lives are shown from one accident.
Haven't posted here in a min but here goes:
Deadfall: It's really good I liked the story line and how they all connect. Plus you get to see Olivia Wilde get fucked... Always a plus. :lickish:
3, 2, 1 Frankie Go Boom: Biggest mistake of my life. :-X
Bachelorette: It had some funny moments but overall it was just okay.
Fast Girls: Was a good film overall. Thought it was a bit short though would have liked to have seen more of struggle before she made International team.
Skyfall: Brilliant. A must see.
Twilight Saga - Breaking Dawn Pt. 2: THEE greatest movie franchise in the history. What a great movie.
End of Watch: Fucken bad ass movie. From the go and with one of the best endings in a movie I've seen in a long time. Must see.
Looper: A really good watch but not as hyped as people made it out to be. It's got some good twists in there. Makes you used your brain and try to decipher it out.
Wreck It Ralph: Fucken funny and you will have a good laugh.
Hotel Transylvania: The funniest kids movie I've seen this year. You have to see it.
Argo: Ben's picked up the slack with The Town and now Argo. Really enjoyed the film.
Taken 2: Maybe not as good the 1st but still a great watch and recommend it to anyone.
I still wanna see: Frankenweenie, The Campaign, Here Comes The Boom, Flight, Killing Them Softly & Resident Evil:Retribution oh and also This Means War.
Watched Zebra Crossing which is about a guy living in a run down estate trying to escape the crime, gangs and violence. It is shot in black and white and the story line is good but found some of the acting poor and over directing with the camera angles. Sad ending.
Never watched Twighlight ever.
I watched Singin' in the Rain last night before falling asleep at the extraordinary time of 9:15pm. It's kind of camp and very 1950's in tone, but it was fun and quite funny too. I had Full Metal Jacket the day before so needed a bit of light relief. Braveheart is later. It's so long since I watched it, so all I remember is some kind of fighting or other.
Im off work this week, just using up leave before I lose it so have watched a few films.
The Girl With the Dragon tattoo - Really good film, it was the remake of the remake but nevertheless a good film. Guy getting a gold dildo kicked up his arse, whats not to like?
Lincoln Lawyer - I really liked it. I love legal drama's and I love Marisa Tomei almost as much as I love Matt Damon, it couldnt lose.
In Time - It was shit.
Tower Heist - Shit
Killer Elite - It was an OK film. I wouldnt mind reading the book on this one, Feather men. 4 SAS guys die, turns out they were murdered buy some mercenary types hired by some Sheik from Dubai for killing his sons in Oman. Ranulph Fiennes initially passed it off as fact but it seems as time has gone on has admitted that its fiction which is pretty disgraceful.
White Men cant Jump - Still Brilliant.
Hangover II - Same old Same old.
Moneyball - Loved this film.
I also put on a film called Bunraku which was truly awful.
Memphis, you must have Sky Movies, over the last couple of weeks I've watched most of them too.
The Girl With the Dragon tattoo (again) - liked it much more the second time round, easier to connect the different plot strands and that fat rapist getting tortured will never get old.
KillerElite - It was a shit film that was good in parts. Good story, shame it didn't focus more on that instead of a bunch of thicko mercanaries. (I could have seen those cunts coming)
Moneyball - really thought this was gonna be a typical hollywood sports film, rags-to-riches cliched fair, but was excellent
Lincoln Lawyer - typical twisty lawyer film. I always like these even if I think they're shit by the end.
BlackSwan - I probably wouldn't have watched this until learning that Natalie Portman keeps playing with herself. That is all.
Yes mate I signed up for the 30 day trial with nowtv because Im off. Ive got a few days left to watch what I can ;D
Outlaw Josie Wales. That just never gets old!
Watched 'Underworld' for the first time. Issaight. Band Of The Hand, again.
Frankenstein (DeNiro-style)
The Rum Diary - Im not the best at watching films i'll give you that but did anything actually happen int this film, I mean anything of any great note? Went to PR, shit job, moonlighting job fell through, paper closed, went home. Isnt it? Girl was smoking hot mind you.
Watching the bucket list. Again.
And I must admit there will probably be some tears before bedtime. Still trying to perfect my list.
The Killer Inside Me.
I watched Some Like It Hot and enjoyed it. Curtis and Lemmon are brilliant as women, but Curtis needs some work on the Cary Grant impression. Marilyn Monroe plays herself well too. Monroe was a pretty big woman. A lot of belly and boobs wobbling around all over the place. Her face was nice because of surgery and she was chunky. It's mad how she became such an icon. The falseness puts me off big time.
Anyone else seen The Divide? I watched it about a week or so ago, and it is really quite disturbing and not an easy watch at all. Basically a bunch of people escape a nuclear strike by hiding in a deep basement. They can't get out and it looks at the group dynamics as they descend into madness and start falling apart as a group. My general opinion is that I don't like it, but it is well acted and effective at what its trying to do.
I went with my stepson to the cinema to watch Skyfall the new bond film for his 24th birthday. £10 for a ticket! It was for an extreme viewing which basically means a larger screen than the usual multiplex ones but smaller than the independents used to be. Bollox. Good film though. Great motorcycle chase, big dramatic themes, Oedipus complex, celebration of cinema with nods to silence of the lambs, gone with the wind etc,. Great cinematography, fleshing out of Bonds backstory. Javier Bardem brilliant baddy, creepy and a great foil. Fitting 50th anniversary Celebration. 4 out of 5 stars.
Flight - Started watching it but it just dragged big time. Stopped it and won't go back to it.
The Imposter - It's a really good documentary. I strongly recommend it. It's about a guy who tricks Spanish authorities and US authorities into thinking he is a boy who disappeared 3/4 yrs prior. It's fucken nuts I tell you.
I saw Skyfall...vastly overrated movie
Watched The Woman in Black with Harry Potter. He does a good job of not looking or acting too much like Harry Potter. Really eerie and suspenseful film.
Now watching State of Play, one of my favourite movies in recent years.
I really enjoyed it. Solid, well made fitting anniversary celebration. Best of the Craig bonds, the humour is back and it manages to reinvigorate the series whilst reminding us of why people lived it in the first place.
Great Baddy - check
Great chase sequences - check
Stunning babes - check
Espionage, drama, set pieces, brilliant opening sequence credits/short film, decent theme tune, whats not to like?
Expendables 2 - Needed more killing
