Im just not that impressed with Hatton. He cant put together combinations, he has no jab, and he's predictable. Trust me Freddie Roach will have a master plan to annialate Ricky Hatton. Maybe this will finally shut Floyd Mayweather Sr. up about how he thinks he's the best trainer out there. Roach 5 to 1 better than Mayweather, Pacquiao 5 to 1 better than Hatton!
I heartily disagree with pretty much everything you say. Hatton is clearly Pac's most powerful opponent yet, and one of the quickest on his feet too. Manny will have more than a fit or two.
Pacquiao has faced many faster fighters than Hatton in lower weight classes, just none that are as powerful. Hatton has to mug Pacquiao
Ruberto Duran style if wants a "W".
I think in the power department, they are pretty muched matched, unless Hatton comes in much heavier, which is what he should do. If Hatton comes in lighter, around (140) like some of you think he will, there is no way he's going to out box Pacquiao. Mayweather Sr. is just dreaming if he thinks Hatton can dance his way to a win over Pacquiao. If that happens Just mark another "L" on Hatton's resume.
hatton will weigh in 140, and bulk up to around 152, thats what he did in the malignaggi fight
Re: Is Hatton Pac's most powerful opponent yet?
Hatton was holding all night. Malinaggi wasn't doing all the clinching.

I think Paulie spoiled and held way more. Hatton had an easy day outboxing him and (obviously) landing the bigger shots.

Are you kidding me ? Paul Malignaggi was ducking and grabbing all night long, he for certain done a majority of the spoiling/holding. Paul Malignaggi actually fought like a coward after he was rocked in the 2nd round.
Ricky Hatton to me looked fired up and was ready to go to war, and he looked like he just wanted to fight and not clinch at all. Pity Paul Malignaggi held like a wrestler and ducked almost below the waist line every 20 seconds.
Re: Is Hatton Pac's most powerful opponent yet?
Size wise... NO. Oscar dela Hoya was.
After the facts came about… and the feeble showing of Oscar.... YES!
This is by no means a clear advantage in his favor though, I still see Pacquiao out speed, out skill, and outmaneuver Hattfon for a win past round 9.

I still think it's nothing short of amazing how Pac went up all those weight divisions and maintained his speed, agility, and brought some power up with him.
But there's a difference between fighting drained, washed-up, all-past-his-prime DLH at 147, and fighting Hatton at his natural weight. I think this (Pac-Hatton) will be a much more competitive fight than was Pac-DLH, but I still give Pac the edge. Hatton may have the size advantage, but Pac has fought guys (JMM, MAB, Morales) with many more skills than Hatton brings to the table.
Great points Tito!
I like the point but first, even Hatton fighting at his natural weight, hatton should triple up his training because as some annalist said here in the forum, Hatton is more powerful than pac...I agree. But the question is...Can Hatton unleash those power if pac is always ahead of him? SPEED KILLS again here.
Second. DLH is not washed up...he was not able to figure out Pac. Other hand SPEED KILLS.
My opinion, Pac goal is not Hatton here...It is Mayweather. Sorry to say that but Hatton is a post fighter and for the million times I said this...PACMAN KNOWS!
After May...Hatton is going to be a washed-up fighter. Believe it!

Hatton is not washed up! not even if he gets beat by Pacquiao. He just lost some that confidence getting OK'd by PBF. Once he realizes that He should drop Mayweather Sr. and go back to the style that put him on top. He'll start really kicking ass again.
He still looses to the PACMAN though.
