Geeze.
yes!! we have been cringing for years now. It is hard to watch him continually throw it improperly.
He needed a good trainer 4-5 years ago to fix his technical flaws and to teach im defense.
How do you tell someone that's in the process of destroying tomato cans he needs to improve though?
By telling him the Klitschkos aren't tomatoe cans and fi you want to be champion? They are in the way.
They tried that. I think the losses were great for Arreola, but they should have happened earlier in his career.

His trainer obviously didn't teach him properly or he just ignored the lessons.
Would he have beaten Adamek at this weight?
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
Releford has lost 14 times in 38 fights and been knocked out twice, and he's a small HW without much power, Arreola should get him out of there in the next couple of rounds.

Dunno. But he'd have had a better shot.

These rounds are good for Arreola though, don't you think?

Yes, very good for him. If I were managing him I'd try to get a top 10 opponent in the ring in 2-3 months. If you can't get any such guy (which is freaking doubtful because almost all decent HWs are sitting and waiting for the lottery ticket that comes with fighting a Klit or Haye; yes I'm talking about you Povetkin, Boystov, Chagaev, Dimitrenko, Chambers, etc...), then I get him back in the ring quicker and keep him sharp.
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
Thjat's enough. This is no longer competitive.
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
Releford's corner needs to consider how long they let this go.
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
It's about time it got stopped.
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
Good night for Arreola and Releford performed admirably as well.
Good fight.
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
So Arreola vs. thompson perhaps?

here's a jewel from 2009
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
Is it me or does Arreola still look fat? :p
I think it was good for him to get rounds under his belt. I think he should stay busy and try and fight 3 times more this year. Two more stay busy ones and maybe a few more pounds shed and then a shot at someone in the top 5.

He's never going to be slim. Just a big dude. I'd like to see another 5-10 gone though.
I'm not sure 2-3 fights is enough to keep him fit. He may need to fight every month just to pin him in the gym and away from Brger King.

Oh definately, there's no substitute for staying busy in the ring and getting some rounds under your belt.
The Klitschko bros will eventually retire and Chris might be able to pick up a trinket.
Re: Arreola and Thompson in action tonight FNF thread
I think his weight is good for him, he just needs to turn it into muscle. Someone get him doing some strength training...doubt he's done many crunches in his training.
