i was there, it was amazing !!! ;D
Lest hope Liverpool batter Villa 5-0 tonight like last season. :)
For fantasy football purposes i'm hoping Kuyt scores all 5.
City are about to sign Sylvinho on a free transfer / 1 year deal after Barca released him. Good experience, a buddy for Robinho and decent cover in case anything happens to Bridge.
Fee for Lescott is £20m rising to £22m and not the £24m as advertised in the press. Still far too much, although it is likely to be announced as an undisclosed fee. Passed his actual medical yesterday, just has a 2nd part to go through relating to his knee injury that occured a good few years back. Should have signed by tonight or tomorrow latest...like i said on Saturday.
On a side note i notice Sky Sports have changed Kolo Toure's fee from £16m to £14m. They always try to sensationalize stuff. Glad the club has put em right on this one.
Had to laugh at this though. David Moyes slowly going mad...
"We are not having it for any of them. I won't have it - the chairman knows that and I have made it clear. We are not a selling football club - unless it is someone I want to let go" - David Moyes, January 25.
"There is bound to be some interest in some of our players because we are competing at the top level. But there is no desire to sell here, we don't need to sell and we don't want to. And a lot of players will admit that not only have they been good for Everton, but the club has been good for them.
"We want to keep the base we have, some of the players we have now, to replace them would cost £15-£20million, and so why would we do that, with no guarantee that we could find better?
"We want to add to this squad and I can assure you that no one we want to keep will leave" - David Moyes, April 25.
"I have already said there will be no players sold at Everton and I do not feel I need to say any more. The board have never sold a player from me, it will only be at my discretion. I said it at the end of the season and I do not need to say any more" - David Moyes, July 16.
"You heard what he (Moyes) said and he said it right at the start of the summer - 'none of my players are going' and I think all of this speculation doesn't do anyone any favours. David Moyes, and only David Moyes I promise you, will make the decisions on the playing staff at this football club. He said, and he means it, nobody is for sale" - Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, July 16.
"As a club, we have publicly stated - as recently as Wednesday night - that we do not intend selling any players" - Everton chief executive Robert Elstone, July 17.
"The crowd know and understand that what we are doing here is right and we have been very consistent and we have said that Joleon Lescott won't be sold. There's not much point me elaborating on that because I have been consistent - he's not for sale" - David Moyes, August 8.
"I have said all along that I have no intention of selling my best players. Joleon is simply not for sale" - David Moyes, August 12.
"Joleon is a massive player for us, we think so much of him and do not want to lose him" - David Moyes, August 14.
"I have said often enough that Everton are not selling" - David Moyes, August 15
Lescott did have a nasty to his knee, I think it was reconstructed by the US doctor who does Beckham and others knees.
Just dont understand why you bought the player from Roma he is in the same league as Darren Anderton when it comes to injurys, il be honest with you mate you should of got Owen and Barry.
Voronin is fucking shite, you need a striker before the dealine without a doubt.
Voronin is ok, he needs playing time....what was that everyone was saying about Keane "strikers need regular playing time to be at their best". AV just needs some time...would have been nice to play him against some lower teir teams like oooooh I don't know Stoke . In the long run he's not the only answer for the squad's troubles but he can help and he's cheaper than anyone else.
Rafa had a short time and short funds to put this squad into shape where they could contend for the title.
Mate what games have you been watching?? Voronin is fucking wank, Robbie Keane is a proven world class goalscorer who has scored goals for top teams including a spell at Inter Milan and has the most goals ever for the Republic of Ireland, Voronin isnt good enough to clean Keanes boots.
If you really think Voronin is good enough for a team like Liverpool god help you.
Heres a few stats for you Lyle to prove my point about Keane compared to Voronin.
Keane
Club Appearances 389 Goals 142
International Appearances 91 Goals 39
Total 480 / 181 Goal every 2.6 games
Voronin
Club Appearances 235 Goals 83
International Appearances 57 Goals 6
Total 292 / 89 Goal every 3.2 games
I think the International record of Voronin proves he is shite!!!
First off Ireland soccer just plain sucks...I am allowed to say that and I'm American so that's how far down the totem pole those guys have fallen off.
FOR Liverpool
2008 Robbie Keane 19 games 5 goals
2007 Andriy Voronin 20 games 5 goals
That's even steven buddy...and for those people who complained about Keane not getting PT well since when has Voronin gotten regular PT at Liverpool? We have him, he's decent we might as well use him. Right now we have to play with what we have and for some people it might suck a whole hell of a lot but for now give AV a shot see how he does and if he's not able to carry his weight then ship him off to Germany (where he did very well BTW 20 games 11 goals, I know the class isn't the same but still) and let Pacheco get tested a bit. He's a young kid and needs seasoning if we've got a lost season then let Pacheco get some reps and see if he's quality yet.
I can tell you one thing Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel aren't the answer at the other striker and neither is Gerrard, why the hell we would put our best box to box player waaaaay up front is beyond me.
Our issues don't stem from Striker, they are from midfield where NOBODY controls the ball, and nobody makes their passes. A midfield of Benayoun, Gerrard, Mascherano, and Riera is the best hope we have to win and to do that then we need someone else to play upfront with Torres other than Gerrard.
Not that I am saying he's the problem or anything but who does Torres really play well with, to be honest the only answer I come up with is Peter Crouch. Keane didn't match with him, Kuyt did ok I guess, hell even David Villa doesn't mesh with Torres' game...when they played together for Spain Torres never scored and when Villa got subbed off for Torres scored his only goal without Villa on the pitch. I think Torres is just tricky to plan an attack around.
Hahaha funny you say that Ireland footy sucks, i dont disagree but thats actully makes his record even better!!!!
He plays for an average team and still scores the goals against much better teams pity Voronin doesnt seem to do the same his international record is absolute shite, Keane is by far the better player ask any football fan on here.
Liverpool have got off to a shitty start. Two losses out of three, surely it can only get better. I had high hopes of success this year, but this ain't the way to do it. Pull yer socks up yer lazy bints!
:o this guy is fucking nuts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIWWYOqG_9s
if he had walked off and punched the coach I would nominate him to be the earth's representative when the aliens come.
that was a sick tackle
4-0 Liverpool over Burnley
Benayoun was hands down the man of the match with a hat trick and who set up that final goal??? Voronin! He also set up some other opportunities for his teammates and himself...one where he really should have put it away but struck the ball wrong.
Benayoun played great, hopefully he's starting from here on out! Everyone played pretty good, even Lucas the player who catches the most flack from me played pretty good, no horrible tackles, no cards, few penalties.
Phillip Degen even came on as a sub and did very well for Johnson, and N'Gog did ok as well, Voronin set him up for a goal too, but N'Gog was off side.
Great game by the Reds, a win was expected, but it was very nice for them to win it going away.
Quite happy that they made it because they are on the short line and seeing how the other big teams are doing, I am really worried about Liverpool, for the moment, they are holding on but the other big ones from the Big 4 must lose or have medium performances and the Reds must keep going or it will be a premature end.
Liverpool just need to win the games infront of them, Tottenham and Man City will take their fair share of games away from Arsenal, Cheslea, and I don't think Man United will be the same without Ronaldo anyway.
I would like for the lineup we used today to be our regular lineup, only switching Mascherano in for Lucas. I think Kuyt plays ok with Torres, he's one of the few that can.
I wonder how Aquilani is going to affect our lineup
Watch MOTD tonight lads we were amazing played some amazing football, and basically brought the Spurs bad to earth with a bang and made them realise there nowhere near the level of the big boys
Chelsea and United thats who the league is between with Chelsea the slight favs, but we have to remember the African Nations cup is coming and two of Chelseas best players are gone for 4 weeks, who knows how that will effect them, still Chelsea and United for me with Liverpool third and Arseanl to scrape 4th from City.
I don't care about Man City or Arsenal but Adebayor is a bit of a shit :-\
Adebayor the drity fukking twat.
Robin Van Persie is also a twat. Nobody is talking about the lunge on Ade that caused him to retaliate. And why the fuck is nobody talking about Van Persie's goal celebration.
He stopped dead 6 feet away from the South Stand right in front of the city fans and mouthed 'fuck off, go fuck yourself, fucking come on, fuck you'. Eboue had to drag him away.
Only our fans behaved properly and didn't throw chairs and bottles at him. Maybe we should have done. It's every bit as provacative to do that. Don't get me wrong, what Ade did was stupid but fuck me let's have it right. He's put up with 80 mins of wanker chants, and songs about his Dad washing Elephants - he has every right to be happy with his goal. Just a shame the same fans giving him the abuse can't handle him celebrating a goal in front of them. Fannies.
I think people were very early to jump to the conclusion that Liverpool would be the team to fall out of the top 4. The worst thing about the Alonso transfer is not that we lost a quality player (which we did), but it gives Rafa more opportunities to tinker with the lineup which is so frustrating I can't even begin to tell you.
Sure United beat the Spurs this go 'round, but it's a long season and they'll eventually get their stuff together, nice to see Robbie Keane is still off form. Also Chelsea is constantly having to come from behind to win games which can't be good if it continues, eventually they will hit a wall.
I agree people are to soon to judge, i always wait till around 12/15 games in before even looking at the table to get a picture of what will be happening come may, Liverpool will be there I think they will just come up short but there a great team and have some world class players, im worried for Pompey and im so annoyed with myself as i posted in this thread before the season started pompey to go down 6/1!!!!!!!!!!!!! Didnt have any money on it, never mind but Pompey are fucked imo, Hart has bought garbage his latest signing a player called Danny Webber who was turned down by a host of championship clubs including Blackpool and Docaster.
Chelsea look strong, the gits.
Especially if they suffer an injury and aren't able to purchase the contract of a player to fill in. E.G. Lampard or Essien goes down, who covers for them???
Gonna be fun to see
no doubts chelsea are already desperately trying to persuade the likes of drogba to fake an injury forcing him to miss out on the tournament yet make a miraculous recovery a week later!!
oh well....
Utd-city, chelsea-spurs this weekend - should be fun ;D;D;D
I'm not looking forward to Sunday at all to be honest.
No Adebayor, Robinho, Tevez, Santa Cruz or Kompany for definite and doubts over Richards and Ireland.

Bellamy isn't going to be able to hold the ball up and it's just going to keep coming back. Our attacking players aren't going to gamble on him winning the ball (like they do with Ade) so he's going to get isolated. I can see us getting a dicking to be honest. Would have been confident of a win or at least a draw with a full strength team out or even with Adebayor playing, but without that big man upfront, we're going to struggle imo.
THATS WHY WERE CHAMPIONS!!!!
What a game, first half City controlled it pretty well second half we battered them but some of our individual mistakes nearly cost us.
Ben Foster is shite sooner we get the German kid in as long term cover for Van Der Sar the better, good shot stopper Foster but for me makes to many mistakes and doesnt have the strong mentallity.
Just got back from the Blackburn game and the pub afterwards. Was a decent performance by the blues.
As for United-City me AND every other Evertonian are made up. We were clapping in the ground Michael Owen of all people hahahaha get in. So glad Man City got screwed over the stoppage time. Every football fan hates City, FACT!
Just nice to see Hughes the cock nearly crying in the end, it's a shame Bellamy is a woman beating little shit cos he played well today, but as usual the little twat wasnt happy with that he had to hit a fan who ran onto the pitch, but he twated him in the face after a bunch of stewards had his arms pinned back, hard man Bellamy strikes again ID LOVE TO STAMP ON HIS FUCKING HEAD!!!
And he played like shit for Liverpool (of course he plays like shit where ever he goes, but that's beside the case)....Bellamy is a lousy SOB
Er... no. He played excellently while at Blackburn under Mark Hughes. He was sensational during his first few years at Newcastle under Sir Bobby Robson RIP, up until Souness took over. He was also very effective in his short spells at West Ham & Celtic. He may be a cunt of the highest order, but it doesn't mean that he hasn't been good. It's only really been at Liverpool & Coventry that he didn't produce. Still he's a prick, hope he gets a nice long ban. Also hope Man Utd get a MAJOR fine for their fans throwing a coin at Tevez that hit Garrido in the face.
I agree on his day Bellamy is a very good player, but he is a horrible little man, and the coin incident was a disgrace I sort of felt for Tevez as I feel he would of got a good recpetion if he didnt say all the disrespectful things about Sir Alex in the press, but I thought Tevez condcuted himself very well and even clapped the fans even though he was getting boooed, I dont blame him for leaving as United showed a lack of respect and left it till very late to offer him a contract, but I suppose the way he publicly disrespected the manager he was always making a rod for his own back.
Whoever threw the coin should have a life ban another cowardly act.
