I am not sure if you can win a fight with defense. ODLH kept pressing the fight and when you are facing a champion shouldn't it be the other way around? :confused:Quote:

I wanted him to continue on and continue to test himself, if not at 147 but even up to 154... Some fighters don't have the intention of just continually rising the bar until they meet someone tougher, but I believe we never saw the absolute best/peak of Mayweather.. Once he was at the top of his game, we never got to see him really have to dig deep and use every ounce of his heart and skill to beat an opponent who was better than him... I think he was capable of it, and wish that we got to see it of probably the best fighter of my era...
I would love for him to come out of retirement for anything.. Especially if Pac continues on to be a dominant fighter in 2009,,,, but it's pretty clear Mayweather is pretty much done with the game.... He doesn't have that hunger and thirst to find and push his limits, and that's an incredible shame.. Now that it's clear he's pretty intent on staying retired and out of the game, it's an end of an era that I and many others wish could have continued on into even more glorious days...
There was no doubt of his potential, I just wish even with all we saw, that we could have seen more of him...

If Pacquiao beats Hatton, Mayweather is going to fight Pacquiao. I wanna talk about how Pacquiao would be a fighter Mayweather has never seen before or how the potential matchup would put the fire back in Floyd's belly, but in reality, the money would be too big to give up.
The funny thing is that before the fight NO ONE knew that ODLH was washed up. The media thought that the fight was a mismatch and thus bad for the sport. Most boxers thought pacman would lose. The sports books had pacman as a heavy underdog. Even a philipino politician thought pacman would lose. Many people even thought pacman would get knocked out! Going into the ring as such an underdog and still beaming with confidence and courage speaks for itself. The win was huge. This was not a case of Calzaghe v. Jones where the boxing public universally thought Calzaghe would win on points because RJJ was passed his prime. This was a HUGE upset.Quote:

Did ODLH change that much from May of 2007 - when he battled Floyd to a split decision loss - to ODLH in December of 2008, when he was destroyed by Pacquiao? It is obvious he changed, but Mayweather didn't maul ODLH like Pacquiao did and Mayweather is naturally a bigger man than Pacquiao.
Because of his accomplishments and ability, PBF should be heavily favored in a fight with Pacquiao, but the intrigue for the fight is justified.
Pac will be very very different from all the fighters Mayweather had faced so I give the win to Pac.
Mayweather's shoulder roll will be no problem for Pac.:cool:

Im sick and tired of the mayweather brown nosers. Pacman will stop mayweather. I dont care who mayweather has fought before, he has never fought the caliber fighter like a pacman. The reason manny will stop him is for three Big reasons. #1 manny's footwork is the best around. He bounces around on both feet constantly throwing fighters off their game, slipping in and out. #2 manny throws combinations. Im not sure floyd knows what that means as of late, sure floyd can throw combinations against someone like Gaitti, but i believe i could do that. Mayweather has not impressed me at all lately, he throws one punch and then goes back into his little peek-a-boo style, thats not gonna work against manny. #3 is heart. I've followed manny for a while and i've never seen someone with the will to win like him. Even in the first morrales fight with the huge gash from the headbut the man kept coming, thats heart, thats a passion to win, and thats something floyd has never faced before. Even tho i just registered here on the forums, i told my whole family that manny would beat oscar up, while the rest of them said that oscar was just to big. Please dont even mention ricky hatton against pacman, Hatton would be taking a nap on the canvas within 6 rounds. Hatton does not impress me at all, i mean who has he beat? Mallinagi, who else.....? This may sound crazy and im gonna go out on a limb, but i dont even see mayweather giving manny any problems at any point in the fight. This fight is gonna happen soon, and I believe without a shadow of a doubt that not only will the pretty boy be handed his first defeat, but will be stopped similar to oscar, but im gonna go with 11th round TKO. Pound for pound, Barrera, JMM, and Morales are much better fighters than castillo and callazo. Those names shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence. I'm not taking anything away from JMM hes a good fighter and gave pac a run for his money, but he never pulled threw. Besides I believe Manny has improved even more so his last two fights. I guess the real beauty of that Pacquiao victory is he made most of his doubters as believers, and made some of his haters STFU.

Actually, people were commenting about that on the Forbes fight. I even said that if Forbes, who is not known for being a dinamite KO puncher, could hurt ODLH then Pac would be a bigger threat. Now, you have all these people praising Pac for beating ODLH, which is fine, but people forget what it means to be "passed their prime". The only ones I have heard mention that are boxing analists and critics. Same thing with Mc Bride beat Tyson, when Norris and Camacho beat Leonard, when ODLH beat Chavez and ended up taking a taste of his own medicine when facing Pac and so on.
