Klitschko's would get slaughtered by Tyson and Foreman. I give both brothers 1 out of 10 chance of getting out of the 1st round.
Wladimir would be too scared to sign the contract for one fight never mind 10

Vitali has the worst defense in Heavyweight Champions History - he'd be an open target for Mike or George. Vitali is hardly elusive lol.
The boys just ain't good enough. Vitali is a steroid cheat anyway, like he admitted in his book -his words not mine.(And he still lost to Chris Byrd while avoiding Tua, Ike etc and shitting out of a fight with Michael Grant)
You think they could win - are you having a laugh?
Lennox won and he was old - his punches caused the win - get it into your thick Alabama brain and deal with it.
Why do you want to go the route of baseless name calling and insults? Did I insult you? Did I call you names? No
Why even bring up Tyson or Foreman in this thread about Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko? George Foreman would hammer Lennox too AND Lewis fought an OLD Tyson so what's your point?
Vitali tested positive for a banned substance 1 time when he was an amateur and that's all. During that time it wasn't uncommon for the Soviets to give steroids to their athletes without the knowledge or consent of the athletes.
Everyone knows about Vitali vs Byrd, and apparently every dumb motherfucker like you figures that someone should just risk their entire career to win 1 fight...Evander Holyfield fucked up his shoulders fighting James Toney, a lot of help that did for his career. Vernon Forrest is a good example of what happens when you screw up a shoulder, his career bottomed out because of it. When did Vitali avoid Tua and Grant? That's the first I've ever heard about that and hell I could bring up that Lennox "avoided" John Ruiz and Chris Byrd....it doesn't mean he wouldn't have beaten them. And Ibeabuchi?!?! Dude seriously, that's a pretty damn weak argument right there. Ike had 20 fights by the end of his career and 100% of this aura of invincibility surrounding Ike comes from the Tua fight and the Byrd KO and if you want to play the "Vitali avoided Ibeabuchi" card then permit me to say the same about Lennox Lewis because he certainly wasn't jumping at the chance to fight Ike either. I would also cite that 100% of Nigerian Heavyweights to this point have looked spectacular one minute and extremely average the next: Friday Ahunaya, Sam Peter, David Izon, etc....so let's not just figure that Ibeabuchi would have beaten everyone just because of 2 fights he had in his massive 20 fight career before he went completely bat shit crazy
And next time how about you not resort to name calling and insults?

What we do know is that Lewis left horrendous damage on Vitali's face (all left by punches) damage so bad that the doctors had to stop the fight and Vitali needed plastic surgery and something like 50 sticthes to put his face back together. Nobody in all seriousness can say that Lewis didn't do what was required, you can't look at those 2 fighters at the end of the fight and think anything other than Lewis beat him. What is more impressive, being ahead on the techincal aspects of judges scorecards or hitting your opponent with such great punches that you leave him looking like a freak show?
Great job by a way past his best and arguably completely unprepared Lennox Lewis
I agree, Lewis had more on him even though he was showing signs of not having trained properly, but mentally he had been there more often and I think if it kept going it would have been Lewis's fight even without the cuts. Too much made of stoppages on cuts, in particular for a fight like this where it was done by punches. I reckon Lewis had lost his love of the game at this point , if not he would have taken him out earlier or if he got the spark back he would have stopped him in a rematch.

Klitschko-Lewis was a great fight, it was an even match and both fighters came out of the gates trying to end it as fast as possible...what's not to like about it???
Shame about that cut though, and that there was no rematch, but then again we all know why that was
yeah, we do. No need for it. job done.

Lennox came in out of shape a mistake he made with Rahman and McCall in their first bouts, He was starched both times you would think he learned his lesson but no! Though he was in better shape for Vitali then either of those two.
Vitali was known as the "Other" Klitschko nwho quit against a soft punching Byrd regardless of why fact is he quit and thats all Lennox camp and most of the HW division associated him with.
Vitali looked at Lennox as the champion who had been KO'd twice by lesser fighters and he should be able to put on the same performance.
Vitali taught Lennox early on he was not the "Other" Klitschko brother and took the early lead by being all over Lewis.
Lennox taught Vitali that even tired he was experienced and thi9s was just another day at the office and unless you KO him clean he was there for the duration, Lennox picked it up the last 2 rounds and took target practice at Vitali's cut.
Neither man was used to fighting another man of their size and skill level not too mention they did not fight at a big mans pace they fought a fight not a boxing match.
Both men learned valuable lessons.
Lewis that he no longer had the desire he once did and knowing that he also realized that the next half assed training camp may be his last as champion so why not retire on top and make way for the next generation and spare himslef from the ever ongoing trail of Former champions who do not know when to quit and end up shells of their former self.
Vitali learned humility (If you remember Vitali had a poor attitude before the Lewis fight about losing) Vitali also learned that you can not out muscle every opponent and you need to add some old fashioned boxing to make your night easier
Was a good fight for both men, Lewis retired an ATG with all his wits intact, a swimming pool of $1000 bills then some.
Vitali turned into the fighter we see today that if not for the Lewis fight I don't think he would have evolved into what he has.
It may not have been a pretty fight but not all fights have to be master pieces to be good fights.
A very well put-together unbiased post that just about sums it up

I know we covered this before but no matter what either fighter was prepared for (Kirk Johnson & Cedric Boswell) it was going to be a rough fight and we should just be happy it happened.
Both fighters ended up winning out in the end Lewis retired with the belt and Vitali won over the crowd that night and has had much success since that fight. Lewis won the fight on stoppage because of cuts while Vitali was WINNING the fight on points so there lies the main point of contention.
Re: Your thoughts on Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko?
Lennox and vitali. This fight is simple.
Should the fight have been stopped? Yes. Look at the state of vitali's face. It wasn't one cut, it was multiple cuts.
Lennox was tired, Vitali was winning blah blah blah ALL COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.
Lewis beat Klitscho fair and sqare and caused enough damage to prevent his opponant continuing that is the bottom line. There have been loads of fights through history where the guy who was ahead on points got knocked out or stopped. This was no different.

There still should of been a rematch though, im not really a fan of either fighter. But Lennox Lewis promised Vitali Klitschko a rematch and never gave him one.
IMO the Lennox Lewis fans use the excuse, that Lennox Lewis was old and ETC. Which i think is nonsense Lennox Lewis actually got better with age, and was coming off a great performance vs Mike Tyson.
If Lennox Lewis was so out of shape and ETC, then in his mind if he trained properly he should of beat Vitali Klitschko right ? IMO i don't think Lennox Lewis fancied his chances vs Vitali Klitschko.
Vitali Klitschko has a great chin, he took Lennox Lewis's best punches. Which only a few fighters have ever done, and the punch that caused the cut. Was a grazing shot and it was a freak accident. And quite lucky on Lennox Lewis's part.
Yes Lennox Lewis was coming on but he looked gased, from that final assault in the 6th round. And really and truthfully there should of been rematch, the fans wanted to see it. And it would of been a huge event between the two best Heavyweights.
But sadly Lennox Lewis retired, and we missed out on what possibly could of been the best Heavyweight fight of the decade.
Lastly not to go too far off topic but i think Ray Mercer, deserved a rematch vs Lennox Lewis aswell.

In an ideal world, but Mercer had nothing to offer Lewis, except for another vey tough fight. It was an interesting fight for Lewis to take at that stage, but I had him winning 96-94.

Yea i can understand why he didn't take it. Im not really faulting him for that, considering he was trying to get a fight with Mike Tyson at the time. And Ray Mercer was a very hot and cold fighter.
But i still would of liked to have seen it, and maybe over 12 rounds instead of 10 rounds. Because it was such a good fight, and so evenly contested. That its the kind of fight that needed those few extra rounds, to tell us who the real winner was.
Re: Your thoughts on Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko?
If Lennox did give Vitali the re-match and won I think it would have severely halted Vitali's career.
Re: Your thoughts on Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko?
I think Lennox would have won a rematch. He'd have had to train hard and knuckle down but I stil think he'd have beat him again.
Re: Your thoughts on Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko?
...no one thinks Vitali could have mapped out a game plan when he got time to actually train to fight Lennox Lewis and not Cedric Boswell?
One of the problems I have with this debate is that it's so one sided on the part of Lennox Lewis: Lennox wasn't in shape, Lennox didn't have time to prepare, Lennox was old, blah blah blah....that match was thrown together at the last minute and it's not as if Vitali had been training for Lewis all along and was 100% prepared to fight him. All the excuses made for why Lennox had trouble with him are wiped out with the simple idea that "If you're the Champion then you prepare your best to defend your title regardless of who you're fighting"
Also none of the Lewis supporters even admit that Vitali was doing well much less WINNING ROUNDS they just point to the TKO 6 and jump up and down about how anyone would even question the fight.
Re: Your thoughts on Lennox Lewis-Vitali Klitschko?
Without going over old ground again and again, the pro-vitali posters go on and on about him being ahead. Yes he was ahead. He was 2 rounds up maximum out of 6 rounds IN A 12 ROUND FIGHT!!!
The pro-Lewis posters go on about him not being totally focused, not training properly etc etc... Yet he still won the fight. There should be no excuses for Lewis because of the simple fact that theres no need. He won. Doesnt matter if he looked good, bad or indifferent, he won.End off.
And all the coulda, shoulda, woulda men should take a step back and look and recognise the good win for Lewis that it was. In fact, if vitali was half as good as what his supporters on here are saying then it makes Lewis's acheivement even more remarkable as im sure we all agree that wasnt prime lewis for whatever reason he did or didnt train.
