Lewis beat Klitscho fair and sqare and caused enough damage to prevent his opponant continuing that is the bottom line. There have been loads of fights through history where the guy who was ahead on points got knocked out or stopped. This was no different.
There still should of been a rematch though, im not really a fan of either fighter. But Lennox Lewis promised Vitali Klitschko a rematch and never gave him one.

IMO the Lennox Lewis fans use the excuse, that Lennox Lewis was old and ETC. Which i think is nonsense Lennox Lewis actually got better with age, and was coming off a great performance vs Mike Tyson.

If Lennox Lewis was so out of shape and ETC, then in his mind if he trained properly he should of beat Vitali Klitschko right ? IMO i don't think Lennox Lewis fancied his chances vs Vitali Klitschko.

Vitali Klitschko has a great chin, he took Lennox Lewis's best punches. Which only a few fighters have ever done, and the punch that caused the cut. Was a grazing shot and it was a freak accident. And quite lucky on Lennox Lewis's part.

Yes Lennox Lewis was coming on but he looked gased, from that final assault in the 6th round. And really and truthfully there should of been rematch, the fans wanted to see it. And it would of been a huge event between the two best Heavyweights.

But sadly Lennox Lewis retired, and we missed out on what possibly could of been the best Heavyweight fight of the decade.

Lastly not to go too far off topic but i think Ray Mercer, deserved a rematch vs Lennox Lewis aswell.
