Never seen much of Green but he looked really scary in the weigh-in for RJJ. He genuinely looks like he means business....
He is the real deal.

Jones-Hopkins was arranged before this fight because it was a BIG money Las Vegas veterans fight.
Green-Hopkins is NOT a big fight in America. Green offers Hopkins nothing - no big money, no title, no big money!!! There's no chance of Hopkins going to OZ.
Yeah exactly - Green V Hopkins offers nothing but a loss to Hopkins. He called Danny a no-one, Green just proved otherwise.
So are you saying Hopkins only fights for the money? Does he want to fight the best to be the best? Green does. Who gives a fuck if the fight is not a big fight in America? He wanted RJJ and assumed he'd win so why wouldn't he want to fight the guy who destroyed him in 1 round?
Exactly. It's all about money.
If Green can offer Hopkins more money stateside than his other limited options then you might see it. But Green doesn't even have a cruiserweight alphabet to help sell it.
Hopkins turned down Adamek because HBO wouldn't give him $2million for it. Chad Dawson isn't worth enough money to Hopkins. They are HBO fighters. Green has a win over a shot-to-bits Roy Jones. It means nothing stateside.
Re: Jones V Green RBR u want?
And remember you are talking about a guy who sparred James Toney when Green was at Super Middle weight and Toney was at heavyweight - Green made Toney stop the session. Youtube it dudes - he is THE MAN!!

Re: Jones V Green RBR u want?
Good win for Green, but you guys have to remember there is a big difference in beating an old RJJ and beating an old Hopkins. RJJ is about 6 years out of his prime. Bhop just keeps getting better.

So does that mean Green stops him in Round 2,3 or 4?

That's the thing about Hopkins. People always go on about him getting better and that he keeps beating top fighters. Personally, I just see an old man with an ugly style who outside of beating Tarver (who hasn't beaten anyone since) hasn't really beaten anyone in his own weight class for nigh on half a decade. Winky and Pavlik were never anything more than MW's and they were fighting at LHW. And Calzaghe outworked Hopkins fair and square (though not quite so fair on Hopkins part).
Hopkins is the same old Hopkins, it's just that he holds more to catch a breather. It is pretty impressive that he can do that, but I find the adulation of Hopkins a bit much TBH. Especially when in his prime his record stands on staying in his own division as long as possible, only beating smaller men who were moving up. But it's okay for everyone to hate on Calzaghe for staying at SMW though. Calzaghe eventually moved up and won a few fights and had the sense to retire rather than continue and only fight men who would run up two weight classes outside of their comfort zones to fight him. But of course, Hopkins is only ever getting better.

Here's a bit clearer Vid:

It did catch him right behind the ear. May not have looked like much, but it sure did make a nasty sound! Jones was really wobbly after he was able to clinch and the ref separated them. Before that he didn't throw any punches back, and many refs would have stopped it then, even though not many from Green were making it through clean. I think the stoppage was OK.

This thread is hilarious.
I'm glad Green managed to KO Jones, that made my morning.
