Absolutely puzzling from what I've read so far. Very curious to read to some unbiased opinions from members in the know.
Thanks in advance
The two best boxers of the tournament are Dirrell and Ward and both in my mind are undefeated, as Dirrell beat Froch in my opinion. Abraham is a just stand up, unathletic classic european fighter who was always gonna be exposed by more athletic fighter who with good combo's and speed two match. It's funny really Dirrell and Ward were considered thw two weakest fighters before the super 6 started but even at this early stage they are looking like the two best.
I dont think Dirrels looking like the best. He was owned by Carl Froch and he was knocked cold last night. As for Ward he headbutted his way to a win over Kessler and if he tarvelled he'd lose but he has home advantage in every fight so its being fixed for him to win it.
I don't think I've ever agreed with any one statement as much as the one above. I would only add that the Dirrell v. AA fight was beginning to look suspiciously like Taylor v. AA--AA was beginning to land some big shots and Dirrell was tired and running.

Can't say I condone the staged wrestling like convulsions, twitching and weeping. It's a bitch move, but AA should have expected it if he had been watching any tape on Dirrell at all. Especially the fight with Froch.
If I had to find a middle ground with someone I disagreed with it, it would be your position.

Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
if Dirrell acted, then AA acted too. what the hell was all that complaining about low blows?

AA always complains about low blows, this is nothing new for him but usually he has home advantage being he mostly fights in his adopted Germany.
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
If that fight had gone on AA was going to knock him out. He was landing clean shots, including a knockdown not counted shortly before the DQ.
I think although it was an illegal punch, I would have like to see the fight continue. We see low blows all the time, but that doesn't end up in a DQ. Even if it's a bad one, we might see the fight stopped for respite (doesn't the victim have up to 5 minutes to recover? from a low blow?)
The call was made harder by the fact Dirrell rolled around and couldn't continue. It was a solid punch, but seemed more of an arm swing rather than something with snap.
Found this video of the fight (they have full length and highlights)

I've only just managed to watch the fight, hence my late opinions on it
Re: Abraham - Justified DQ?
Surprise, Cole was right but he should cover minor fights until he qualifies as a world class referee again. Glasses would help at this point for his other mistakes.
