Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
correct me if i'm wrong Lyle but I get impression you're not that keen on Haye ?
If Haye fought 3-4 times a year there wouldn't be such a problem with the Harrison match - but thats the problem he doesn't.
But I'm allowing him this one - this one is for the UK.
After this if no Klit by spring then I will also turn against him
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Who's next ? i'd like him to fight any of these fighters.
Alexander Povetkin
David Haye
Nikolai Valuev
Tomasz Adamek
Odlanier Solis = If he gets in shape.
Denis Boytsov = I've heard he's decent but he's too green at the moment.
Vitali Klitschko
Joking aside about the Vitali Klitschko match up, there the only match ups that interest me at the moment.

After this fight he's got no where left to go. The reason why he's resorted to audley and a november date is because he spent so long negotiating with klit. It's all about getting it sorted round the negotiating table. I'm confident we'll see it next year.

He does need to fight more often too, no reason he shouldn't have 2-4 fights a year (depending on injuries and other stuff). Whoever said he was in love with the lifestyle of a pro boxer has been 100% correct thus far.
I agree with Lyle here. Haye basically got his fame on talking crap to the Klits. He talked soo much trash and yet isn't fighting them. It would have been one thing if he had never said anything about the Klits.
I understand the previous poster's point that the Audley fight is important for the British heavyweight scene and that they have a rivalry which needs to be sorted out. I get that. It's a weak title defense, but I get it.
Me personally? I think this is about business for Haye. Haye knows Wlad and Vitali are by far and away the riskiest fights for him. No question about it. But, he also knows they are the biggest heavyweight names by far. So, he talks a ton of trash about them which convinces the public he is a new force at heavyweight, and then backs out of his fights with the Klits in favor of taking on lesser challengers and filling the coffers. He'll probably continue to milk the public until he absolutely has nowhere else to go but Wlad or Vitali. Who's Haye's mandatory? Is it Chagaev?

I don't know who's next on the WBA rankings, it would be nice if it was Povetkin...I'd be quite interested in that match actually.
I think Wlad is gunning for Adamek...hey at least Tomaz will get paid well.
Tomaz is nothing if not fearless. He takes on all challenges. I just don't think he has the size to beat Wlad. It would be a heavyweight fight that HBO would buy too. Tomaz is fighting Maddalone in December from what I've read. Quick hits: Martinez-Williams not yet set - ESPN
Wladimir Klitschko Quickly Climbing The Post-Ali Charts - Boxing News

I'm pretty sure after Chagaev its Valuev then Boystov on the WBA rankings. Povetkin is ranked about 5th or 6th.
As for Wlad I wouldn't mind seeing him fight Adamek, Povetkin or Valuev. I'd take him to beat all of those handily, but its slim pickings at the moment, especially with their being no chance of a Haye fight going through until spring at the earliest. I think Haye's speed may trouble Wlad early, but I'd still expect him to get stopped by the mid to late rounds. I just don't see anyone troubling him now, he's getting more and more dominant every fight
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Just as a side point I'd be VERY surprised if Haye beat Chagaev.
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
I can't help but think that it would be better for boxing and for fans to have Chicken, Adamek, Povetkin and Solis fight each other before sending them for execution to K bros. I would love to see Chicken - Adamek or Chicken - Povetkin.

I'm with you on this one. The fight will happen 100%. He's just lining his pockets beforehand. The Klitschko fight could be his last big payday., so can't really blame him for cashing in now. Especially in such a winnable yet sell-able fight.
Re: Who's next for Wladimir?
Has anyone of the Klit brothers defended their titles against anyone as poor as Audley Harrison ?
