Jones started as a Junior Middleweight, and could have easily won a world title at Cruiserweight, just goes to show that it really doesn't matter though
RJJ jumped 6 divisions from 154 to 200+ and he could have picked up lot of titles along the way but he got titles only in 4 divisions (with no LINEAL TITLE)...
PAC jumped 10 divisions from 108 to 147 and so far got titles in 6 divisions (with 4 LINEAL TITLES) where he could have also picked more titles along the way...
So who do you think has more impressive accomplishment jumping divisions, RJJ or PAC??
.
Jones, his heavyweight win alone is more impressive, although it was against Ruiz, in that fight Ruiz weighed at least 70 lbs more than Jones had at the beginning of his career, and fight night and come fight night Jones was out weighed by 33 lbs and still dominated the fight, so when Pacquiao fights at 147 against lets say Glen Johnson and pulls off a shut out then i'll say he pulled off a better win

HaHa ;D I was not overly impressed by RJJ's win over John Ruiz for I predicted that RJJ's speed will dominate the slow moving Ruiz... :lolhaha:
Jones was outweighed by 33 lbs.?? How about this, Chagaev was outweighed 90 lbs. by Valuev and still won the fight...;D
.
Re: Roach says "Manny will fight shane at 142 not 147"
all these catchweights pac's camp is dictating is what you call leverage. they will start the negotiations from there and i'm sure it will adjust accordingly.

and yet many believe that Chagaev (a natural heavyweight) lost to Valuev, and that Ruiz beat Valuev, Ruiz might be slow but he does have power, and the strength to push a smaller man to the ropes, Ruiz although boring did win MOST of his wins clearly, (can't believe i'm defending Ruiz), like i said when Manny beats someone that' outweighs him by that much well he'd have bragging rights over Jones, until then, not a chance in hell, titles now a days mean nothing, technically Manny didn't do shit at 135, so hardly a dominant figure

the reason he jumped ten divisions is because the lower weights have a smaller gap from one to another.
If they separated the larger division every 3 or four pounds and made up silly extra divisions from
junior middleweight 154-157 then something stupid like
"IN BETWEEN JUNIOR AND MiDDLEWEIGHT CHAMP" 157-160
MIDDLE WEIGHT -160 -164
"THE ALMOST A SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT" 164- 168
SMW - 168 - 172
" JUNIOR LIGHT HEAVY" - 172 -175
LHW -175 - 179
"SUPER LIGHT HEAVY" 176 -180
and so forth, I'm pretty sure knowing how Jones loved to collect belts he would have stopped off in each one on his way to beating ruiz.

You don't have to justify this... There are very valid reasons why the weight were divided into these divisions.... At lower weight, the weight difference will matter most so the smaller gaps between divisions...
I think you wished RJJ could have started his boxing career at 108 lbs. too...;D

Not really....pac still has a ways to go before he will be mentioned with the likes of jones...
Re: Roach says "Manny will fight shane at 142 not 147"
Well yet again if we are going by how much bigger the guy is hell Holyfeild up there with Jones because he Bowe and Foreman fights. Because they both weighed more them him by a huge margin in those fights. Forman weight 49 pounds more and Bowe weighed 39 pounds more come fight. Not to mention Holyfeild started at LH so he fought guys who were 82 heavier then what he started out at so that to me is very impressive since every one makes a big deal about Pac and Jones and what they did.
