WTF are people thinking? I read in a couple of threads that talking about Khan vs the best in the division right now isnt insane? How the fuck is it sane? Khan has looked nothing but ordinary in his fights and he beat an old Barerra....in any case it was an old barerra, i thought barerra would win but even if he did i would of always said barerra was past it. Now i started reading JMM vs Khan wouldnt be such a bad idea down the track.
What has saddos come to be...the bandwagon central? Pac is good...p4p right now the best but I certainly dont think we need a topic about him everytime he opens his mouth or hints at a fight....or a thread on the hour every hour. I like watching pac , i think hes awesome...but do we need that much pac on the board. Fuck just make a pac appreciation thread while we are at it ay....soon we will need a board for it.
Khan has not shown me anything to say he is world class just yet because the barerra he beat was not. He has looked troubled against nobodies and he got knocked out by prescott. One win does not redeem that, he needs to get a rematch and win that decisively. If we hyped everyone that beat a past it fighter then fuck wed have alot of superstars.
So i put this to you, can we turn down the hype machines and actually wait until there is a reason to talk about guys fighting the best. And can we turn down the pac threads? Seriously, since ive been here...never has there been that many threads about one boxer.

Haven't seen anyone saying Khan is the best in the division. You'd more then likely find more people saying that Khan's win against Barerra doesnt count and some evenbelieve that Barerra would knock him out.

I'm with Majesty though, I've not heard anyone on here saying Khan is top o' the lightweights, if anyone is saying that, they need to get they're heads out of whatever crack den they've been slouched in over the last few days.

Nate ain't there no more, he's gone up to 140, and I can't see JMM stickin around long when he's already beaten the next 2 best guys in the division. He might only fight the winner of the GB Lightweight tournament, but he ain't waitin for Khan. Khan can outbox Prescott if he's smart, but can't see him beatin Casa or Diaz. I reckon go for Katsidis (he's taken too many punches and has a ring age of about 37) or David Diaz (another guy who really is there for the taking). Beat one of those than go for a title against anyone but JMM.

I would laugh my head off if a fight with JMM were to materialise. Would never happen though. Katsidis would be a decent fight, and would tell us if Khan can hang with a puncher. Out of the names listed here, that is the most logical suggestion I have heard.

Khan is 22 years old we don't know yet how much he will improve.
Right now of course he shouldn't be thrown in with Marquez but who knows where we will be a year from now.
A couple years ago Barrera was ranked in the top 3 p4p, was vying for top dog with Pacquaio over the superfeatherweight division and any idea that Khan could have beat him would be met with hysterics.
Now he's just an old, little small man who Khan's promoter chose to get a legend on his record.
Isn't Marquez as old as Barrera? Isn't he as small?
A year from now Marquez will likely be coming to the end of his career and if Khan continues to improve and work on his defense with Freddie he could certainly be one of those that could potentially take over.
Who would have thought a couple years ago that Pacquaio would destroy De La Hoya, or that he would be the betting favourite going into a fight with Ricky Hatton?
On here people always talk about one fighter destroying another as if the gulf in class is colossal but it's just not the case.
Khan would still pose massive problems for anyone at lightweight, especially an aging Marquez who is at a clear natural size disadvantage.
Just because his punch resistence is supsect doesnt mean he's going to get blown away in 50 seconds every time he fights anyone world class.
If he can use his height, reach and speed to keep Marquez at bay and prevent him from getting off he could cause all manner of problems for Marquez a year or so from now.
Marquez isn't superman, he struggled with Jimrex Jaca and Chris John. His fights with Casamayor, Pacquaio, Barrera and Juan Diaz were all absolute wars with both Pacquaio and Barrera dropping him and Juan Diaz rocking him on occasion.
But you all assume that Khan would just lie down and be counted out after 50 seconds becuase he lost to Prescott in that manner?
Khan absolutely has the potential to beat Marquez. He has the all the physical and youth advantages, he has the speed and natural size.
If he improves under Freddie Roach then a year or so from now and he could be ready for the truly world class.
Although by then Marquez will doubtless be showing signs of slipping and even if Khan beats him he'd get no credit for it here anyways.
