Backfoot, but he only very rarely had opponents come to him.

He used his superior footwork to have Lacy come to him and then peppered him with combos then moved out.
I'm sure as the fight went on Calzaghe did start pressing forward.
backfoot but that was another strength of Calzaghe's, he was good at both.
He was better at waiting until great fighters were hitting their 40's before fighting them than anything.
