Barrera gets WBA world title fight in January!
The travesty of the Khan fight has been rectified to some extent as Barrera has not lost his high ranking. The cut caused by the headbutt has healed and now he is back where he belongs in world class.
He faces undefeated heavy hitting Paulus Moses in LA California. Barrera may be viewed as the stepping stone by some but he attempts to make history by becoming the first Mexican to win world titles in 4 different weights.

MAB has nothing left.
He was getting schooled by Khan and that is a fact. Cut or no cut, Khan was just to good for MAB, which proves MAB is no longer what he once was and everyone knows it including himself. Why is he fighting again? Why doesn't he fight Morales again? That is the hot ticket and since both want to continue fighting, why not fight the man you hate the most?

Moses isn't the world champ. He has some shitty WBA version stripped off Marquez. Who regards him as champ? Come on now.. is he even top 10 Ring ranked?

MAB is going to get sparked and it will be a sad thing to see. I doubt I even tune into this one.
I wasn't even able to see Tyson on Opera because they were breaking him down, so I just shut it off because that is not the kind of memory I want to be left with about Iron Mike. I was not even a huge fan of his but at the end of the day, he was feared in the ring before his life got flipped upside down.

Marquez is the super but also "rightful" WBA champ.
It was Juan Diaz before the WBA decided to make him "super" champ. Obviously Marquez beat Diaz.
And obviously the WBA only split up the title to make more money out of it. So obviously it means shit. Like all alphabets.
Anyway.. Marquez is linear champ through beating Casamayor. So Barrera would need to beat him for "world champion" to mean anything.

I'm curious to see how Barrera looks. It's been a long lay off. It's hard to say where he is right now though. The Khan fight didn't tell us anything and the few fights before that were against cab drivers.
Prior to that he did give Pacquiao his toughest fight in recent memory and gave Marquez a very good run for his money, in a weight class that Marquez fights more effectively at. He might well still have a bit in him, but we can only tell from him getting some rounds under his belt.
I've no issues with the fight. It's as good a warm up as you can expect.

The cut was in the first round, MAB shook Khan a couple times with one eye. Hard to say he was getting "schooled" when he was blind out there

What the hell do you expect when you can only see out of one eye due to the endless flow of blood.
Khan beat him up that night that was clear for all to see. But barrera was handicapped big time and we`ll always be left wondering what would of happened had that cut not come into play!
