None that I can think of, it's all been linguistics stuff for my studies over the past few years.
Mate, what possible redeeming feature did you see in 'Lost in Translation'?
That film was awful!!
I think it's a really good film. It has Japan and it has Bill Murray, and with those two together and some quality cinematography and music thrown in you are already on the way to creating something interesting. There are some funny Murray moments, but it also captures the disconnection and ennui you can feel living in a strange place where you don't really speak the language and where the culture is somewhat alien. It's a film with moments in it that I really relate to. I think the Scarlett Johannson character was a little too cliche for my liking, but I think Murray puts in a really brilliant performance. It's a film where nothing much really happens, but that's kind of the point.
