ok that's ten, I could go 15-20 easy but I'll probably change it once I've figured out I've made a huge mistake like putting Man on Fire in there. I did like that movie. I was shocked by how much I liked slumdog millionaire when I finally got around to seeing it. Little Miss Sunshine, Hot Fuzz, The Prestige, the LOTR movies don't quite make it.

I just saw this German film about a writer and a Stasi agent called The Lives of Others, very good, not sure it breaks the top ten but good. would definitely be top ten foreign films ever.

I haven't even attempted the music list.I have a lot of albums I really like that I think are late 90's. Funeral by Arcade Fire would probably make the cut for me too.

Life of the others is a brilliant, well acted movie with a very very realistic touch about how it was to live under the Stasi un East Germany. I strongly recommend this film to anybody and to me, yeah, it breaks the top 10 without challenge!

Lost in Translation I could watch pretty much over and over. Well that's an exaggeration but it was awesome.

I think it's a really good film. It has Japan and it has Bill Murray, and with those two together and some quality cinematography and music thrown in you are already on the way to creating something interesting. There are some funny Murray moments, but it also captures the disconnection and ennui you can feel living in a strange place where you don't really speak the language and where the culture is somewhat alien. It's a film with moments in it that I really relate to. I think the Scarlett Johannson character was a little too cliche for my liking, but I think Murray puts in a really brilliant performance. It's a film where nothing much really happens, but that's kind of the point.

I think it's a really good film. I quite liked it as well, and I loved how it did depict the boredom of couple"s life after a few years if you can't renew nothing in your relation. The carpet samplers were just a statement about it hehe. As for Scarlett, in that movie,, I kind of saw a young Murray in it, like she's starting on a very bad note her relation with her newly fiance and feels the same boredom as Murray except way earlier in her life.
