Bute VS Johnson this fall?
Chris Mannix, from the magazine Sports Illustrated, posted on his twitter it would happen before the end of 2011.
More detail to come.

I'm a fan of Glen Johnson, but I think it's time for him retire.
Re: Bute VS Johnson this fall?
I'm a big fan of Johnson and I've actually picked him to get knocked out in his last two fights, but I think he'd give Bute all he could handle. He's a bigger, stronger, smarter version of Andrade and he specializes in wearing his opponents down.
I'd love to see this fight (and finally get to see Bute step up in class).
Re: Bute VS Johnson this fall?
I think Johnson would put up a better fight than the shot Pavlik

Yeah, but watching Pavlik get knocked out would be a lot of fun.
Re: Bute VS Johnson this fall?
Damn, Johnson has lost two world title challenges in his last three fights. Boxingbantz will go mad when he sees this...

Why ? he gave a very good account of himself vs Carl Froch, and was very close to beating Tavoris Cloud.

Not a bad fight until the S6 raps up. I would much rather see Bute-Kessler though. I would expect Johnson to give a good performance but end up losing in a decision.

Because he isn't good enough to win at the elite/championship level, and at this point he's become a stepping stone for the best fighters. Like I said, I've been a longtime fan of GJ, I just think it's time for him to hang 'um up.

Yeah but sadly, Kessler have asked the WBO to put him as the Title challenger for the belt. It pissed me off too because I want Lucian to take on someone like him, but we can only blame Kessler for this one.
Re: Bute VS Johnson this fall?
Well apparently it'll be Pavlik, the Press in Canada just announced that Pavlik vs Bute was a done deal for november, either in Quebec or Montreal: Cano - Sports - Bute affrontera Pavlik au Qubec

He's always mostly been like that though, thats why he's lost alot of close decision's. Because he isn't flashy and most of his work is workman like.
It's not because he needs to hang em up, i mean he basically fought on even terms with Tavoris Cloud, Chad Dawson 1, there two top Light Heavyweights.
And he gave a very good account of himself vs Carl Froch, especially considering he hadn't fought at Super Middleweight in years.
I don't think he's showed any real sign's that he needs to hang em up, he always entertains me. And he obviously loves what he's doing, so let the guy carry on he's genuine class act.

Bute fighting another cast off which Froch has already beat, he should at least fight Kessler.
