Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr.,- Saturday night fight/chat thread
:pimp2: An entertaining card Saturday, it will be interesting to see how well Dallas Jr does against the hard hitting Lucas Matthysse, it's a big step up in competition for him.
Jan. 26
At Las Vegas (Showtime): Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr., 12 rounds, for Matthysse's WBC interim junior welterweight title; Selcuk Aydin vs. Jesus Soto Karass, 10 rounds, welterweights; Jermell Charlo vs. Harry Joe Yorgey, 10 rounds, junior middleweights; Francisco Vargas vs. Ira Terry, 10 rounds, junior lightweights.
I believe Lucas will walk/break Mike down and stop him in one of the later rounds, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the fight go the distance, and Matthysse winning a decision.
:beerchug:
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr., on Showtime Saturday
I will most certainly be in the minority when I say Dallas by a points win.
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr., on Showtime Saturday
Matthysse will make Dallas a bug on the windshield. Via splat.
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr., on Showtime Saturday
I'll be shocked if Dallas sees the 3rd round
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr., on Showtime Saturday
I have ringside seats for this event. :)
I'm flying to Las Vegas on Friday for a mini-vacation.

Matthysse is the favorite, and this match was chosen while they wait Garcia out. That said, Dallas could easily play the role of spoiler.

I don't know about easily, but yeah, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Dallas could steal a decision. Matthysse however, is at the top of his game right now, and I believe he's on a different level, Lucas by 10th round TKO after giving MDJ a beating.
Re: Lucas Matthysse vs. Michael Dallas Jr., on Showtime Saturday
I'm looking forward to seeing Matthysse again. Dallas has speed, boxing skills and heart, but Matthysse has already broken down superior boxers.
He will do so again. Its his time now.

I'm almost with VD on this one. I say Matthysse stops him inside the 3rd.

I can understand the draw of setting ringside, but
I like relaxing in front of the TV. Have fun!
Matthysse by KO after 5th.
I reckon nothing compares to seeing fights live @ ringside, but I just don't care much for crowds at sporting events. Give me my leather recliner, big screen HD TV, my computer & a fight thread at Saddos, a couple of cold brews, and i'm good to go.

Ditto. I watched Leonard/Hearns 1 in the closed circuit days at a hockey stadium and that was ok but during Tysons run I gave the bars a go largely because I was sick of paying 60 bucks for a minute or two of brutality. I grew out of that right quick. I will never go to a sports bar to watch a fight again.
