Who has their senses, surprisingly, after a long career?
We always talk about brain damage of retired fighters. Some fighters have brain damage and still fighting. But how many other guys out there that have all of their senses after the fight game?
1. Bert Cooper. Heard an interview with him that was posted in 2012. He has all of his senses and sounds better than a college student. lolol....
2. Michael Moorer. He sounds a clear as a bell. Good, crisp, coherent and very much in tune with his surroundings.
3. Oscar DLH... still has all of his faculties. He was in a great many wars. Long career at the top. Sounds better than Floyd Mayweather.
4. Bernard Hopkins. Sounds like he is a candidate for Mensah.
Who else still has their mind after the boxing trauma...

George Foreman? Roy Jones?
Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch.

Easy to judge with guys on the mic. Of course they won't put a guy on who sounds like he has a mouth full of peanut butter but like Paulie, or a Kevin Kelly. Two very sharp fastest talkers for sure.

Vitali and Wlad between the two of them I think they have a 100+ plus fights, Lennox always seems like he still has all his wits as well...and all three at some point or another got/get shit on for being safety first...hmm.

George Chuvalo is probably the best case for the thread, he's a pretty sharp guy and was in with so many great HW punchers. Mind you, he's a guy who was able to take the punches and rarely if ever was seriously hurt or concussed in the ring, that's got to be a huge part of it. Same deal with guys like Chavez Sr, or Hopkins, these are guys who NEVER got badly hurt. Obviously some are lucky to recover well or not lose their senses, I haven't heard much of Michael Moorer or Kevin Kelley but if they sound good, they are two of them;D If David Tua punched me once I would probably be pronounced dead within minutes.

Lennox sounds confused and can't put his thoughts together. The Atomic Bull Oliver McCall, while a little dumb, is clear as a bell too.

8. Wlad Klit (all that holding, I guess)

Most of these fighters are intelligent and articulate and their careers are at an end or else drawing to a close.

First guy that came to mind. Given the punishment he took physically inside the ring and that mentally which he took outside the ring, I'm surprised he does not communicate using cave drawings.
Archie Moore was another. 28 years over 200 fights.

He did fight at heavyweight when really he was a cruiserweight.
Old Johnny was a hugger not a fighter. Fair play to him, he sounds like years in the ring did no damage, same goes for Richie Woodhall too.
