David Haye- wasted talent?
I think he is. I don't see him being effective anymore. From even before the Chisora fight he was semi-retired. Shucks, he even said it before he turned pro and during his early years that he did not want to fight past 30 years of age.
To me, he had the goods. But he is just a semi-retired fighter now. More of a celebrity than he is a fighter training to fight for a major world title.
That, friends, is a huge waste.
Re: David Haye- wasted talent?
I think the injuries did hinder him not the toe but the shoulder injury. He is a naturally small heavyweight and did his best work at cruiser weight. He earned as much money as possible at the end but did lose a lot of his credibility.
Re: David Haye- wasted talent?
He was once seen as the saviour of a moribund HW division & as far as I'm concerned, he is now just a joke.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not belittling what he achieved, as he achieved a fair bit, but his legacy could have been so much better.
All what he did will be eclipsed by his 'toe' & the fact that he took up a new sport of pulling out of scheduled fights.
He's cooked his goose as far as I'm concerned, because I no longer trust him enough to ever to buy a ticket to watch him fight ever again; that's if he does bother to fight again.

He was good, but never really saw himself with the potential to be great. That's his story. He was content with being third string.
Re: David Haye- wasted talent?
The only thing Haye has wasted is everyones time and money, not least Tyson Furys.
Tyson has chased him back in to retirement.
Re: David Haye- wasted talent?

When wlad loses to Fury Haye will announce his retirement for good. He is waiting for Wlad to unify and then try to jump in again. He wouldn't have a hope in hell anyway but thats what he's waiting for. As iv said probably dozens of times, Haye couldn't live with a loss to Fury.

There you have it.
Re: David Haye- wasted talent?
He still owes me money from tickets and hotels due to two cancelled fights
I wouldnt be surprised if he announced a comeback at some point soon - but will probably withdraw from fight a few weeks before
Only wanted the big fights and couldn't be arsed taking on the fringe fighters to get there
How many fights did he have - 25 or so ? Defo not 30 I don't think
Re: David Haye- wasted talent?
Former Champion at 2 weights, made a a good bit of money wasted talent maybe,! but still
he was WBA HW Champion so all in all he did not do to bad did he.;)
