Good fight IMO, Jennings is too quick I think he'll stop Ortiz but it'll be a good action fight.
Re: Luis Ortiz vs. Bryant Jennings HBO December 19
How is Jennings to quick? Ortiz has some seriously fast hands for a big guy. I think he might stop Jennings tbh, great match though.

Was hoping talk of Jennings v Wilder would see it happen but this will do just fine. If Wilder won't fight a top ten guy they can fight each other! Give the very sharp punching and physical to Ortiz but he is seriously lacking rounds. His toughest adversity may very well come from a blown up lt hvy who repeatedly hit him low, elbowed and had Ortiz cut up but he kept his cool. This is a huge step up experience wise all things considered.

I'm thinking of the trouble Jennings had against Perez, and see Ortiz as similar, a Cuban southpaw with fast hands, only one who is bigger and has a much better punch. Definitely could be that he'll fade down the stretch as Perez did against Jennings though.

Looks like there will be VADA testing for this fight. :thumb:

Yeh bud. Looks like it'll be the last main network card for couple of weeks into 2016??? Always hate that dry spell of no live action and holiday specials repeated 101 times ;D Hope this happens

Ortiz has fast hands for a big guy, sure. Jennings is more athletic, he has good footwork, he has good reactions, and far and away the better record. Ortiz's biggest win was a NC (due to a failed drug test) over a cruiserweight. Jennings has fought some talented guys...and he went the distance with Wlad which not many folks can do.

Who has he fought and beaten? I checked his record...I'm not impressed
Re: Luis Ortiz vs. Bryant Jennings HBO December 19
Jennings hadn't fought anyone before his last two fights either, depends how impressed you were by those I guess. Of course it's a step up for Ortiz, but Jennings isn't a big puncher and he's physically pretty outgunned here imo, I think it's a wise move.
Re: Luis Ortiz vs. Bryant Jennings HBO December 19
Fighting 'someone' doesn't always mean you've actually been in a fight. Jennings has had steady levels of progression in opposition, as he rises so does the opponent. For 20 fights his roll and rounds traveled blow away many at the point including Ortiz. Not even close. That's just refreshing and a blueprint for improvement rather than being baby stepped to title and then go backwards like that other guy :-X. The question always posed and at front especially for heavies...has anyone seen Ortiz punched in the mouth, take a solid shot??? Off the jab Ortiz is a fookin monster early but if he thinks he can Ibeabuchi Jennings he may get spun and rung up underneath. Even better fight more I think about it.
