Toni considering the Punisher for Dec date!
I think it would be a better fight to make for the time, seeing as Williams is getting hype whereas as good as Clottey is,no one knows who he is!
id be v excited if this match was made
C'Mon Tony take the fight this is the one we want! Whatta great match up this would be, two huge welters going for it!
CC, for the news young, El Phenomenon (can't you change the name back to game?? Its a bugger to type this new one!! ;D)....
I for one will be thrilled if this fight comes off....would be extremely explosive...
Williams would be foolish to take this fight right now.
He's too green...Margarito will hand Williams his own a**...along with the first loss of his career.
Hence: EL GAMO!Quote:

That defence is a concern though, Margarito: Williams will be a war of attrition....
Oh I admire him...I just think that it's a HUGE mistake right now.Quote:

Margarito will ring his bell if he leaves his guard low when he's pulling out.
Agreed. Again, when he backs out he drops his hands. Bad move against Margarito. Generally...Margarito pushes his opponent around the ring, Williams may be one of the bigger men to face Margarito...but if he's able to clock him...size & height won't mean Jack!Quote:

I think Williams will be a very very tough fight for Tony but I would be very dissappointed if he lost, his experience should show through. I stress though,it will be tough,Williams is bigger :o has a good jab and can work the body, but I mean his hands are so so low and if he does not make any adjustments if he is to fight Tony,he WILL get hurt and possibly knocked out. I totally respect him(and am a closet fan, can't make it public, conflict of interests!)for fighting Margarita.
CC back Miles.
Thanks, El Gamo!! ;DQuote:

good for margarito, if he makes this fight happen he is taking on a very dangerous opponent and he would probably get a much bigger slice of the pie/$$$ and its a dangerous fight. plus, hes giving theQuote:

cc for the article, el gamo O0
FWOCK THIS SHET! MAN TONY SHOULD JUST TAKE THE WILLIAMS SHUT HIS FWOCKEN MOUTH UP AND MOVE ON. >:mad
Considering? It has to happen. Williams...I'm sold on him. Explain a bit more later, but FOTY canidate if this one happens! Come on Margarito, make it happen.
It will be a great fight but even if it does not happen in December,it'll happen after the Clottey fight for sure. Both are good dangerous opponents.

"El Nuevo Dia" has reported that undefeated welterweight Carlos "El Indio" Quintana (23-0, 18KO) has now rejected a second offer made by Top Rank to step aside and allow fellow unbeaten Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto to contend for a vacant welterweight belt later this year.
Top Rank's plan was to have Quintana temporarily relinquish his #2 ranking with the WBA, which would allow Cotto to step in and face #1 contender Oktay Urkal for the title soon to be vacated by Ricky Hatton. Quintana was to be financially compensated in the form of a step-aside fee, as well as be guaranteed a shot at the winner of the fight sometime next year.
Quintana, however, is only interested in doing one of two things: fight for the title, or fight Cotto. He and his handlers would prefer the latter.
"If (Top Rank) is so interested in finding an opponent for Cotto on December 2, they don't need to look any further than Moca," says Rene Jean, Quintana's co-manager. Moca would be Quintana's hometown in Puerto Rico, approximately two hours from Caguas, where Cotto presently lives and trains.
Quintana earned the #2 ranking in the WBA by soundly outpointing previously unbeaten prospect Joel Julio this past June in Las Vegas. Quintana suffered a knockdown in the opening round, but dusted himself off and put on a clinic from that point thereafter.
Interestingly enough, both Cotto and Margarito are in need of opponents for their December doubleheader, to be aired by Showtime. Interesting, because Quintana was rumored as a potential opponent for Margarito just last month. Bob Arum was looking to set up an October PPV event, but stopped mentioned Quintana the moment HBO pulled the PPV date from Arum for failure to finalize a concrete main event.
Top Rank secured the December dates for Cotto and Margarito, but suddenly stopped mentioning Quintana, other than hoping he'd step aside for said date.
Interesting ???
Excellent read brother Hacienda,Cool Click! It sounds as if Arum is wary of getting Cotto in the ring with Quintana right now and rightfully so. Quintana is bigger than Cotto, skilled, pacy and shooled Julio. It would not be a good fight to take for a first fight especially if he loses,he'll be stuck at 147! I think the thinking is
Let Cotto fight Urkal for the title,so Cotto can be multiple weoght winner, then let him fight Quintana AFTER he has become accustomed to the weight. I think this is good thinking on Arum's part and I hope it works out,AS LONG AS if Cotto beats Urkal,he gives Quintana his shot.
