I'd say Tyson, but it's so hard to decide. If only they were around at the same time.
If I could choose any two fighters in history to go against each other this would be the fight, as far as pure physical talent Mike Tyson would come in with the advantage, as far as tactics and ring generalship Ali would have the advantages, the fight would be very similiar to the first Liston fight but Mike would be able to put on a little more pressure and do more damage to Ali, but I see Ali moving all night and not letting Mike establish a rhythm of trading punches, Ali in a UD but he would not talk about being pretty after the fight.
I'd have to go with Ali. Pretty confidently even over a prime Tyson.
I just think he'd frustrate the hell out of Tyson with the movement, the jab. Tyson did have great power and speed, but I definitely don't see Ali just crumbling, with the all other stuff, he had a real good chin too.
i really do think and this is my own opinion stick any1 in the ring with tyson and 20 years old they are not gona survive and that does go for ali as well :lickish:
Prime Mike stops Ali late....8th round or so....Prime Mike was truly special.
Horeshit. Prime Tyson couldn't stop Bonecrusher smith, Tony tucker, James Tillis, there is no way in hell Ali wouldn't have lasted the distance at least, and imo he would have won. Tyson nerver fought anything close to Ali, Ali fought several opponents who were in Tysons league, Frazier and Liston in fact both had very similar aspects to their game..Quote:

He was faster then Liston, Frazier and Foreman with as much power. Plus had a MUCH better defence then any of them.
enit, n id say liston n frazier wud hav beat tyson aswellQuote:

Damn straight he would have gotten in his head!!! And true the meds would have no affect... At least not as effective as Ali's mouth. Tyson would have nawed through his jugular ;DQuote:

VERY good chin and he has delt with similar styles well before.
That is just taking into account Ali's physical attributes
When Holyfeild beat Tyson, Tyson may not have been in his prime or boxed much really, but Ali is a level above Holdfeild in terms of ring craft and a boxing brain, I'd see this going much the same way.
Plus like others are saying, Tyson would be EASY for Ali to wind up pre fight... Tyson would beat himself trying to kill Ali whilst Ali danced and picked Tyson off.
I really like Tyson's style in his prime, he was a force but we can't get too carried away with him, put it this way... on a certain night he might be able to beat Ali... but 9 times out of 10 Ali UDs him.

I'm like 99% certain you're the same guy... but one time I'm sure I saw both user names online at the same time... ;)
Maybe I need to either quiet boxing or shape my defence up a bit... :P
I am going to go out on a limb and say one day it will be Pride of New England.Quote:

You know, I hate this arguement. The Tysonetts always think Tyson will beat just about anybody.
Ali by Knockout! hahaha
Surprised! ;D
I'm joking, but now that I think about it.......
hmmmm......
Ali did knockout each of his Knockout Masters Sonny and George.
He just overwhelmed them and landed at will. Sooner or later,
they just went down or out, either from humiliation or exhaustion.
Both Liston and Foreman had more will than Tyson.
And Ali's punches were not like chickenfeathers either! heheh
(People don't know that, good example is his right that landed on Ron Lyle's face.)
Ok, seriously, the only people that ask these questions are the ones that have never seen either fighter fight. This is boxing and it IS the sweet science. You can have some raw talented slugger come in and beat down the Marvin Fraziers and Sammy Scaffs and Mitch Greens of the world, but when it comes to the people that actually study the art and fight smart, neither Tyson, nor Foreman, nor Liston, nor any person with TNT in their gloves and murder in their brains is going to beat a Muhammad Ali, a Willie Pep, or a Sugar Ray Robinson... this is what distinguishes boxing from UFC... they aren't going out there and wailing away like a couple of drunk frat boys... there IS a science to this and the scientists will ALWAYS win in the end
Ali was never KO'd & Tyson never lost a fight on points, so it's the opposite ends of the spectrum.
Ali would have had Tyson's head messed up BEFORE the fight.
Boxing is mostly mental.
Tyson would not have have the mental capacity to cope with fighting Ali.
Ali by late TKO.
:coolclick: If you were hinting to Ali's mind games, Tyson would have exploded before the press conference! haha, The fight would be in the bag for Ali. Most possilby a knockout too.Quote:

I can never understand why Tyson always gets pitched in mythical battles against Ali. ???
Ali was the master of mind games & Tyson was one of the most mentally weak fighters who is highly regarded.
Physically he could match Ali, but mentally he would have folded like a newspaper when Ali didn't go down from his punches, started hitting him back & telling him how ugly he was. O0
Why don't people pitch Evander Holyfield, who was mentally strong & exceptionally skilled against an Ali. That would be more of contest IMO.
Tyson was an animal in his prime, But Ali was no joke in his. Ali would totally outbox Mike, But Mike would probably catch him in the middle rounds for a stoppage.
