Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
I can see Casamayor winning. But I don\'t think it\'s by stoppage

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
Hahaaa, it's another of those fan's wishful thinking thread. Let me give you mine. Well, maybe I don't need to. Casamayor answered that himself. He called out Pac when he was 126lbs, saying he was willing to come down to 130 from 135 just to 'accomodate' Pac. But when Pac beat Erik, he said Pac was a flyweight stick or something and instead called out on ol' Barrera to fight him. Hmmm, that's kinda strange, 126lb Pac good for him but 130lb Pac too small for him? what does that mean... I think Mr. Violent D will give you the answer.

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
At 135,Cas allll the way. At 130,Manny may be....Pacquiao is a monster at 130,and Cas i getting ol,making that weight would be hard for him. 135,I think Cas would really outfox and outbox him.Joel is one of the most unfer rated fighters i the game today and had he had a bit of luck with decisions, the guys would be unbeaten and P4P top 5 EASILY.H;es been in soooooo many close fights!

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
I'm pretty sure my man El Gamo knows his stuff so that's a CC for you. But I hope that won't happen though. :'( :'( :'(
-
Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
CC back bro. I just think Joel at 135 would be too big for Manny and for allllll of Manny's many many improvements, his balance is still off when he throws punches and Casamayor is slick. He'd make Manny miss, land a punch or a combo and he would be out of there again. Also,at 135,Joel took Diego Corrales best punches and I think Corrales hits harder than Pacman, certainly with 1 punch.
I'd like to see Pacman fight a natural 130 pounder later this year,Edwin Valero. ;D :D

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
Size isn't such a big factor IMO because Pacquaio came in at 144 like I said before and was tight... He could easily weigh 160 walking around IMO, and could put on a good 5-10 more pounds in the ring of muscle before it becomes excessive.

That's cuz when Casamayor called out Pac the first time Freddie Roach quickly shot down that idea saying Casamayor was to big. What's the point of calling out a fighter who don't want to fight? Casamayor is the Ring recognized Lightweight champion. Yet you never hear Pac call him out. I wonder why?

cc taeth, good point. size will always be the reason doubters will say why pac can't win though. because 130 maybe his limit, his gone up enough in most peoples oppinion. when he went up to 126 mab was his first oppenent, pac had no problem his speed power and stamina followed right with him coming up. but when he came up to 130 his first fight was eric, pacs speed stamina and power didn't follow him up right away, but to be fair to pac, right before that fight with eric, they drained blood from him, he had the whole camotion with his promotion and add to that his power was a bit cussion by the gloves erics camp trick him to use, yea a bunch of excuse, but those are facts, so they could of really played a big part why pac coming up to 130 for the first time wasn't so smooth unlike the other times he came up.
before everyone said pacs best weight is 126, but now nobody says that because clearly pacs power speed and stamina has arrive with pac at 130 and pac has added more arsenal, his no longer one demensional, and his defense is underrated, anyone can say what they want, but mab em and jmm had a hard time hitting him as much as they are use to hitting there oppenents, his fast and now counters with head and body movement plus he anticipate punches coming.
I think 135 is pacs limit, but I hope he cleans up 130 before going up, mab jmm guzman valero. all of them pac can and will ktfo.

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
Joel Casamyor is not all that good . Pacman would blitz his ass something fierce. IMO ;) O0
-
Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
Casamayor isn't all that good? I believe he may have lost once to Diego, and that was a close fihgt, but IMO he beat Castillo, and beat Diego twice, and I'm not sure, but didn't he win an olympic gold? He has a good chin, power, speed, and skill. So does Pacquaio, except for a chin, but its decent, and he has better speed than Casamayor at this point in their careers.

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
The Casamayor that faught Kid Diamond would be in for trouble I feel, even though that was a poor decision, work rate really put pay to Casamayor's style, the one that stood toe to toe blow for blow with a weight drained Chico Corrales however gives pac a run for his money, Casamayor is a semi-big 135 but is pretty old at 35/36 I think Pacman may break him. Intresting match up.

In all actuality Joel wanted a fight with Pac not Corrales....one reason why things for Corrales/Casamayor took so long....Pac agreed...Casamayor started training to drop down to 126....Pac was to get 5 million then decided he wanted more ::**......since the contract was not signed yet had the option of reniging and he did....joel went on to fight Diego..Pac to fight Morales for the third time...Joel's people even offered another 2 million on top of the five from their own pocket?....Pac still said no to 7 million :o......I won't make the call on why...I will say this much..Casamayor is bitter VERY BITTER!!!!!..over it

unless both you guys got a proff of this stuff i'm ganna have to call BS on both your guy's claim. Its highly unlikely that Casamayor would back out of wanting to figh Pac just cuz he beat morales, Pac has nothing that Casa hasnt already seen. Casamayor already fought Freitas when he was considered such a beast at 130 and Coralles at 135. Same goes for Pac saying no to a $7million(crazy money considering a mega fight with MAB can only make him 3-4million) when the highest he's ever made before Pac-Em3 was just under $2 mil after expenses. Pac dint have a choice about not fighting Morales he had contractual agreement to fight morales for 3rd time.

OK let's get a few things straight...First off if you know ANYTHING ABOUT BOXING KNOW THIS!!!!.....everyone exagerates...So the 5 mil then the 2 mil added was probably more like 3 then the extra incentive was probably $500,000....but Joel's people swear it was 5 and 2 extra so I'll go with what they claim....to sit and get into what the reality of the offers and what is claimed matters none it would be a topic in itself...Second even if it was 100 million it has nothing to do with Pac's biggest purse ever...Third do not think a fighter would not turn down that kind of money for a fight they have a chance on getting beaten in ( and believe me if the two ever did meet Pac would be the under dog)...especially if that loss would effect their marketability and they could make twice that in fighting three or so times against competition half as good...Most of all I don't know you...Do not care who you are or where you came from but I don't lie..nor do I make this up..it is what I hear out of the horses mouth...is the Horse full of S*** possible...that doesn't matter it is what I heard from them and just passing it along...I don't remember saying I was there during the talks....
as for contract obligations there is always a way around it..and if you think other wise I have a bridge in brooklyn for ya...Cheap...as for proof...I have an idea...prove you know anything about boxing before you start questioning the credibility of the poster's on this board be it myself..Pacfan or anyone else...

Re: Pacquaio vs. Casamayor? Who wins?
This should have been a poll . It seems about 50-50 which is surprising cuz I thought Casa would be a natural favourite . Maybe its his age why people are choosing against him . It will be hard for him to maintain or match Pacs pace in what looks like a distance fight .
On the face of it Casa should win cuz he is bigger , stronger , more experience , better skilled and can use rough house tactics . He can set alot of problems for Pac but on the otherhand Pac is young and hungry so his workrate may be the deciding factor.
If I had to lean 1 way it would be with Casa . Pac was hurt against Larios and it went 12 . Joel would present far more problems plus its been a while since Pac met a live opponent so you gota go with the Cuban .

Beat Castillo? Uh..not even close. He fought scared that night. If Pacquaio and Casamayor were to fight I'd have to go with Casamayor by UD or late round stoppage. He's a great boxer, and a very tuff SOB. He took Corrales's best shots, and those of a prime Acelino Freitas. He could withstand Pacquaios punches. Plus if all else fails, he'll headbutt the shat outta Pac man. ;D

Dirty fighters are Manny's weaknesses. I rather not see him fight Casamayor. He's going to get schooled and fouled.

Ya'll muthafuckas need to listen to Daxx. He might be a lot of things but he knows his boxing. And unlike a lot of posters here (the Calzaghe fans) does not need to lie to try and make a point. Bottom line is Pac don't want to fight Casamayor. Never has. Never will.

I thought so I haven't seen the Castillo-Casamayor fight in awhile, and I was far more biased for the boxer back then... maybe I should re-download it. Anyways I think that Casamayor would make the best fight for Pacquaio. I never thought Pacman would have beaten the old corrales who fought at 130-135 when he in his prime because his power is way too much for Pacquaio, and same with Castillo who's chin also is way too good for Pacquaio to hurt.
