Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
I find it almost hysterical that only recently, Ricky Hatton criticizes Floyd Mayweather for putting on an unexciting fight against Baldomir, and then comes to the ring to give us that cluster f@ck he had last night ;D
Ricky Hatton is a disgrace.
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
i didnt see any fans walking out of the fight last night unlike gayweather vs baldomir. ::**
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
I dont know about that. The first 5 rounds were fantastic. Awesome movement, in and out with ease. Nice to watch. The second half was awkward viewing. Hatton clearly slowed and was holding way too much. It was hardly crowdpleasing.
I worry that Hatton now is lacking in stamina. Instead of coming on strong in the championship rounds, he is playing safety first. He won the fight by a mile, but he clearly changed his approach after those body shots ripped him. At 28 and the workrate going down, is that ballooning catching up? I hope not. He needs to stop going up and down as he does. Its just not healthy...
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
haters will say anything to discredit there intended victims.
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
I'd hardly call pointing out the obvious hating ::**

Could you be any more vague and cryptic? ;D
What do you mean?

Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
yes he's embarassed himself and his fans by winning the IBF and IBO light welter titles... total disgrace ;) what are you on about? ;D

Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
cluster f@ck --smashcrusher
Good description. Of the latter part of the fight at least.
If I was already a Hatton fan last night wouldn't be enough to disway me. But I'm not and his second half cop-out was enough to make me half sick.
I think Hatton should fight 8 rounders from here on out. That would be excititng.

The thing is, is this is EXACTLY what people that don't like PBF give him shit about.
That he doesn't engage enough, he was getting trash talked for schooling Baldomir, yeah
people didn't walk out on Hatton, but if it was not Hatton in there, people would have walked
out based on that fight.
Hatton has some damn loyal ass fans and that's great, but looking at it from an American perspective
to the casual american boxing fan who has not seen Hatton vs. Tszyu, the only impressions they
have of him are Collazo and Urango, the don't get to see the "12 rounds of exciting action" that
has brought you all on board.
Don't take this as me attacking Ricky, because I'm not, he did exactly what he needed to do
to win this fight, but you have to understand, he has been less than spectacular on HBO.
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
I am a hatton fan nd i have to agree he was starting piss me off in the second half of the fight with the amount of spoiling he was doing but wot else could he do he couldnt snap urango's head back with his best punches never mind hurt him so i understand why he done it cos he doesnt havegreat defensive skills or fast enough foot work to get in nd out with out getting hit so wot is he ment 2 do just stand there nd get knocked out. ps i was quite impressed with mathew hatton he has came a long way since the last time i saw him when he was throwing wild shots nd getting hit to easy but i was impressed with his defence nd the timing of his cross was pretty gd

Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
It seems Rickys Movement has changed to uncertain the question should be why, and address it. Is somebody trying to mend something thats not broken. Or has the envireoment changed.
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
it wasn't really hattons fought that the fight was was little boring. the other guy didn't really do much. he just kept comming forward
-
Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
Does that mean Witter impressed bigger then Hatton did? :o

That's what I was getting at... he did enough to win the fight.. so why do people give him stick for it? He boxed well and very smartly against a brawler.. and won.. it wasn't the greatest fight in the world from a boxing fan's perspective.. but he did what he needed to... and did it well...

Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
hattons never in a bad fight so even if last night was a boring affair its castillo up next and when ricky stops him after 7 he will be back on top of his game.

Hatton hasnt stopped a fighter for a while, how is he going to stop Castillo? ::**
I think Hatton can beat him, but stop him? That is sheer delusion.

I know exactly what your talking about! This isn't the Ricky I know, holding is a sign that something is missing, or someone THINKs is missing. But Hatton hasn't weighed in near 139 in years, am I right guys? Either way, it's a long time for a growing 28 year old prime-er. And he was seriously rocked in the Collazo fight, could have hurt his corner more than him. We shall see more in his next fight, but NOW Hatton is coming into a superfight with more Question Marks.
As opposed to Castillo who always looks sub-par against opponent's he doesn't care about. I knew he' really wouldn't show up, yet he did in the end.

That's a good point, Im surprised more people haven't brought that up... What the hell was Hatton's corner so worried about in the later rounds?? I couldn't make out most of what Billy Graham was saying but for some reason his whole corner were acting like he was about to be KTFO, why did the urge him to hold on so strongly?? Was he gassing out?? There were some bits I could hear and it definetly sounded like something was wrong... Rickys trainer was saying things like " it happens to everyone, or something like that"... Anyone know what was going on?

Of course we wouldn't it was Juan Urango, who all along we had said was a very slow and
simple, very easy to figure out.

Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
Hatton embarresses himself and fans ::**, come on that is ridiculous. Whilst it wasn't a vintage performance apart from a really good start, maybe they had their eye on the Castillo fight. Not trying to make excuses because he still won very comfortably but maybe they had a few ghosts from the Collazo fight where he faded towards the end and they wanted to ensure the same didn't happen. Either way although this safety first approach wasn't that great to watch he had done more than enough to win and so deserves some respect IMO.

Going by that description, how the fuck was Jeff Lacy favourite to beat Joe calzaghe.
Urango actually impressed me last night. He'l be champ again.

bull shit. i thought it was an awesome fight and hatton didn't embarrass anyone. its bollocks and some of you guys will always find something to winge about.

Lacy was favored, because he was hyped up by HBO, had legitimately won his titles.
And had never fought anyone with a losing record. IMO Lacy was overhyped, I am not changing
my opinion you will not find ANY posts I made stating that Lacy would beat Calzaghe.
Slow strong fighters are never the recognized champs.
What exactly did Urango do that impressed you?

It's funny you call Mayweather, Gayweather when it was Hatton who was hugging Urango like he was the love of his life (Calzaghe is going to be jealous).

Re: Hatton Embarrasses Himself AND His Fans
The British Troll didn't embarass himself like he did in the Collazo fight, but he did not have an impressive performance. Sure he won for sure, only losing 3-4 rounds on my card, yes he lost more than ONE like the judges gave him, which was fukin absurd, but his hit and hold shat is a pussy tactic late in fights. The cheatin little sucker also hit on the break every single time. And got away with it. Castillo was not any better in his fight, he won it clearly though, split decision my ass. Castillo and Hatton will make for a much better fight than those two last night did, and one that Castillo will win. Ricky don't like body shots.

I wouldn't mind seeing Ngoudjo vs. Urango on the undercard of Castillo vs. Hatton.

Urango came to fight, and hurt Hatton on a couple occasions, Hatton NEVER hurt him. Andre Eason dropped Urango. Hatton could not even budge him.

Shut up bitch. I'm not a Hatton fan. Read every post I've ever written here. I've consistently said he's the most overrated fighter in the sport. I didn't say a single thing here about Hatton's performance or try to justify it in any way. It was crap--at least from round 5 on. But Urango was still terrible. I don't know why you'd want to see him fight again. Especially against Torres, who looked almost as bad getting his gift decision against Arnoutis last time out. Seriously, what did you see in Urango that makes you want to see him again so badly? It's the biceps, right Hulk?

Watch who you callin a bitch, internet tuff guy. And why would I want to see Urango again? Because I saw his fight with Mike Arnoutis, in which he got a draw, his shootout with Andre Eason when he KO'd Eason, and his "title winning" fight with the runner Ben Rabah, which I felt he won, but it was boring. Anyway, I've seen power, and heart in Urango. He defended his title with more valor and vigor than Kostya Tzyu did, as ironic as that is. He did better against Arnoutis than Torres did. And I figure it would be a very exciting shootout between two sluggers. Guys like Arnoutis can make anyone look bad.

Just pay attention to my posts before you act like I'm a Hatton fan making excuses and telling me to "grow up" (coming from a teenager). If you'd read this or any other post I wrote, you'd know what was up. I'm about as big a Hatton fan as you are. Anyway, whatever. Regarding Urango, he looked one-dimesional, extremely slow, and much lighter-hitting than I expected in this one, and I thought Ben Rabah beat him. I haven't seen his other fights (half of which were against guys with losing records), so if he had been pulling some SRR shit before I wouldn't know.

And I figure it would be a very exciting shootout between two sluggers. Guys like Arnoutis can make anyone look bad.
Hulk why is it some people on this forum want to talk tuff to somebody when there 1000 miles away, when you know half these cowards would'nt throw rice at a wedding, you feel me?
this really has nothing to do with you. feel me?

I take that bet 3 CC's Hatton don't want to touch those waters for a while he is a little short for that weight.
